Halloween!

Yesterday before we left the school premises, Ms. Phebe and Ms. Jia Ling reminded us to dress our little princess in her favourite costume as they will be have a mini party for Halloween. Oh dear Talk about getting a costume at 6pm in the evening, where am I suppose to get one from? Thoughts came into my mind and I’ve decided to make Beatrice a “wizard” outfit since she is afraid of witches and monster =)

Here we are, pictures of Beatrice in her wizard costume taken this morning in her class!
How do you like the costume I’ve designed for her =)

Anyway, Happy Halloween to ALL!

Boo … beware of the spooky being sitting next to you ….. wooooo ….

Do you remember?

I was talking to a friend last week, and she told me that her friend's son could remember how it was like when he was in his mommy's tummy. My friend asked her daughter too, and the reply from quite interesting. I have decided to test it out on Beatrice too!

Well, the experiment was really interesting. The experiment is not exactly successful as she was quite lead on by my questions. With that tiny imaginative brain of hers, it is quite difficult to ask Beatrice exactly if she could remember anything. Maybe you would like to give it a try, and share your findings =)

Have Fun!

Downtown East

If memory did not fail me, I think the last time we were there, quite close to Downtown East was when Rianne celebrated her first birthday at Aranda CC early this year. There was so much changed now! We even met Steph and Terrence who were attending the International Salsa Dance 2008. So sad that we can't attend =( Hopefully, when Beatrice is ready, she will be interested in ballroom dancing too, and we will be able to dance together =)

Anyway, there was much fun at Downtown East. The nostalgic indoor ferris wheel and the merry go round, they really bring back fond memories of the great old days. And our daughter has so much fun =)
These were pictures of us taken at the indoor ferris wheel. Beatrice has been telling us that she wants to ride on the ferris wheel again, each time we pass by the Singapore Flyers. And we will always tell her, "We have to wait for an opportunity ok, Beatrice." And yes, our little princess obviously knew that this nite was the golden opportunity =) Wishes granted!
No standing, rocking and swing in the ride. Hey Beatrice, how come you are changing seats in the ride?

A reflection of us in the shop of Gelare.
While waiting for the treat that Daddy was buying for us, we were making monkey faces!

The TREAT!
Yummy ...
Power from the ice-cream treat. MORE ice-cream treat p .. l .. e .. a .. s .. e ....

What has happened to our early riser?

We were so surprised that Beatrice was still in bed this Saturday morning! Never before did Larry & myself would have the chance to have breakfast together, while our little princess was still in bed.

Last nite, we were home late when we adjourned to my sis place after my mom's. Hence, the late nite with excitement and play has indeed tired out our little princess. She would usually wake up by about 645 or 715am the latest. But this Saturday, it was already 8am and she was still sound asleep =)

We were out and about at Jurong Junior College last Saturday, to attend my niece's kindergarten year-end concert. It was a fun, and very entertaining concert performed by the nursery and kindergarten children. Beatrice was an eager beaver who wanted to go on stage to perform, and to have make-up on too, just like her cousin Jie-Jie Alicia! Beatrice was quite co-operative and my sis did managed to distract her towards the end of the concert when she started to fuss! It was the longest concert we have attended with Beatrice so far, almost 3 hours with 20 performances! I was totally worn out with this child of mine who stood on my lap throughout the performance. And it was a near miss for bruises to appear on my thigh where she shook and dance to almost every performance. Phew!

Check out this video clip on some of the performances we have managed to capture. Ain't you in awe too, with the boy who danced "break dance" in his performance!

Food, for the Mind and Soul

Good nutrients are essential to a growing child. Not only would the child be healthy, the child will be mentally nourished too! Hence, to cook Beatrice at least one descent meal is a must for me everyday.

Ever since we plan to send Beatrice to school, I have been giving her all "that" essentials which she may need to cover her health issues at school. As of now, coming to the end of the 2nd month of full day school at Mindchamps, I am proud to say that Beatrice was ill only once. Well, she was ill before she was supposedly to be in school, and then she was down with bronchitis during the 4th week of school. A classmate of hers was down with very bad flu and despite finishing his medication; he was still not very well. Beatrice was one of the unfortunate kids who has caught the virus, and she started to cough and sneeze. And she was down with bronchitis. Her condition was mild, without the need to be nebulised. And she was exempted (as instructed by the doctor) from all gym activities for the week until she was fully recovered. Fortunately, she has a very "kia-su" mommy who pumps her with lots and lots of garlic in her porridge. Soon enough, our precious one recovered fast. Well, the sneezes have indeed ruptured a volcanic of mucus in her nasal cavity. And Beatrice is still recovering from a post nasal drip, due to her much sensitive nose. And this will take another week to dry up =( So ... people, IF YOU HAVE FLU AND RUNNY NOSE, please stay clear from Beatrice! Please remember that she has very very extremely sensitive nose. Thank You! =)

Ok, back to my purpose of me writing this post. Personally, I like everything natural. Unless I have no choice, then would I let myself be engulfed by the man-made cocktail of pills for nourishment. Therefore, I strongly advocate the use of spice and herbs to booster our kid’s immune system. I am not trying to say that my daughter is very healthy and strong, but at least, she seldom fall sick except for her nasty, overly reacted olfactory cells. Anyway, to help boost your kid’s immune system, way before they even start school or childcare, you should be introducing GARLIC and ONIONS in their diet. Add a little in their veggies or meat, or even add them in porridge. Garlic and onions are great food that helps to clean our intestinal tract. So, go on and try it. Perhaps, you could sharing your findings or experiments with me =)

A great balance meal of protein and minerals.

The other great essential to give your child is FLUID. Be it juices or soup or even plain boiled water, they are great to help nutrients to be absorbed into the body! I would normally buy those pre-packet soup ingredients from the medical hall, boiled it with chicken or pork for about 2-3 hours, and serve. They are really great! And our little Beatrice loves to drink soup =)

The last essential to boost your kid's immune system is COD'S LIVER OIL. Personally, I have been giving Beatrice cod's liver oil for quite a while now, and I have notice that it really helps to boost her immune system. What more to say when there is omega 3 that helps to boost her brain power!

Give yourself at least 6 months to see the effect, and you will also be glad to know that Great Food is A Great Essential to your Kid's Health! Go and give it a try today and if you are excited like I am to share the goodness you have found, please let me know! I am experimenting and would like to know what other great food is good for our kids too!

Cheers, to Great Health and Good Immune System for our Kids!

Out and About @ Marine Square

Weekend is always a rest day both Larry & me would look forward to. We will bring Beatrice for a walk, window shopping and a feast! And we would only venture out of our little nest after our little precious rejuvenated from her nap. Here we are at Kenny Roger, for Chicken of course! Beatrice is just like Daddy, a meat lover she is =)

Singing and Dancing, My Favourite Activities

As you may have already read in our previous post about Beatrice's passion for singing and dancing. Check out this video clips as we captured her in action.

In this clip, Larry heard Beatrice sang a new song which she has learned in school (Down by the Bay). And here he was, trying to video the song and the singer. Unfortunately, the singer was a "broken recorder" and Daddy was very much confused with the song she was singing! hahaha ...

I caught Beatrice dancing to the tempo, from the mini piano my mommy has insisted that we bring it back home for her #2 precious darling to play with. It was quite funny when Beatrice tried to dance to the beat, and what was her reaction when the tempo was not ... right!
