A mischievous me singing Mr. Golden Sun in silence! hehehe ... Mommy is wondering if I was missing Teacher Pix, cos I love to sing this Mr. Golden Sun song so much. Bet I am! Guess mommy has to bring me to visit Teacher Pix one of this Sunday before Term 4 ends @ JG =D
A conversation about my teachers, friends ...
This is a short conversation recorded by mommy when she asked me about school.
B is for BITES
Upon entering the PG2 class (it's a holding area for kids after class) last Tuesday, Ms. Phebe called out to me saying:
"Hi Mrs Foo, I am so sorry to inform you that Beatrice was bitten today by her classmate P.
P started hugging Beatrice very tightly and when she planted a kiss on her cheek, the kid actually bitten her. When we noticed P was biting Beatrice, we quickly pulled them apart. I have cleaned the wound and had asked Beatrice how come she did not push P away, but she just continued saying P has bitten me. We have told P's parent about what she did in school, but her parents mentioned that P does that back home all the time to her younger sibling. I will be monitoring her and we will time her out if she does it again. I am so sorry."
I took a quick examination of Beatrice's cheek and found that the "wound" was not that serious. It was more like a bruise, maybe because the teachers were quick to react. Anyway, we have been constantly telling Beatrice not to fight back in the event when her friends hit her. But rather, she should quickly move away and call out for help loudly to her teachers. Hence, that explained why Beatrice did not push her friend away.
Well as a matter of fact, I have mentally prepared myself for such incidences which do happen in schools, and among younger children. There are many of such attacks I have read in magazines and books, whereby kids would display such biting behaviour when they are in the process of developing their emotion. However, it is the parents comment which I could not accept, when they shared with the teacher that the child "does that back home all the time!" I don't think this statement is very responsible. I feel that kids are fantastic learners, and with proper coaching, they will understand what is right and wrong. I am not saying that my girl is well taught, but rather, she has been reminded almost everyday about the dos and don'ts. Reminders and role plays will definitely help the kid to understanding better.
I have received a commented from Ms. Phebe that very day too about my daughter. She has been hugging and kissing little Isabelle so much, and so hard that little Isabelle fell. In view of the recent increase in HMFD again, the teachers has caution me about hygiene. I told her that I will talk to Beatrice when we are home. And for the case of little Isabelle, we will have to teach Beatrice how to share her love for little kids in a more appropriate manner. For our little girl has grown much more muscle mass now that she attend gym everyday.
Back home, when we have settled down after dinner, I showed Beatrice how to blow little kisses to all her friends and get them to catch the kisses. As for the hugs she loves to give to Isabelle, I have asked Beatrice to give little pat on Isabelle's shoulder, like the sayang sayang stroke. Beatrice loves Isabelle a lot! And her teachers also know about this. Beatrice will come back home and while sharing with us her daily activities, she will always say, "Isabelle is a good girl!" Hmm ... I think she has turned her attention to Isabelle, ever since her friend, whom she got along so very well initially, decided to be back in school only next year.
The teachers feedback for the week on Beatrice:
Beatrice has done a good job, and she has been blowing kisses to her friends!
Good Job Done, Beatrice!

Disney Theme Restaurant @ The Anchorage Point
We were at the Disney Theme Restaurant at the Anchorage Point on Saturday. Mommy has ordered a Cinderella's Swirl, which is macaroni with cheese and ham, and a fresh milk for me. As for both my parents, they decided to give their dinner a miss since they just had a dumpling and some kuehs. Drinks to quench their thirsty is what they needed most "P
Well, I managed to finished three quarter of the serving and the rest was shared by my parents. It was a very very simple dish, which could be easily prepared by anyone *according to my mommy *. As for the pricing, it is quite expensive for a macaroni with a few shredded piece of ham (8+). Guess we will not be patronizing this place for the longest time from now on, since the choice of food is very limited, and the seats are limited too.

The Rainbow Fish
This is the 3rd play I have attended since Ferdinard the Bull @ Bouna Vista C.C and "Da Ren Bu Jian Le" @ Raffles Jubilee Hall. The Rainbow Fish, is a play which depicts a fish, who is selfish and is unwilling to share her pretty, colourful scales with her friends. Eventually, all her friends decided to leave her alone to her self-admiration, and no one talked and played with her anymore. She then seek the help from the wise octopus, who told her that inner beauty is equally important. From there on, she treasures her friends, and she would also share her beautiful scales with her friend. Well, the play is slightly "boring" for me as there were too much dialog. However, I would play much attention each time the actors sang and danced. Other than that, I was very much distracted by the crying sound of little children, and the kids who were talking constantly behind our seats. The next play I will be attending is in November, and it is called "The Hungry Catepillar". Mommy hopes that it will be a much interesting play * because she said the last one was kind of boring too* :D
here is a picture to share on the play of Ferdinard the Bull, which was not blogged in May.
My Music Lessons with M.V.
It has been a month now since I attended my music lessons with M.V. My mommy has been complaining about that the classroom being so cramp. Unlike the one we used to attend at Kindermusik, this one is barely of its classroom size. There are about 12 kids and 12 accompanied adults in the room, excluding a teacher with her assistance. * Sign * When will classes be over?

My First Assignment as a "Photography Model"
Daddy and mommy have been taking lots of pictures of me all this while, and they were mostly candid shots. This is the first time I became Daddy's little model.
We were walking along Pagoda Street on Saturday, when we came across a long stretch of lanterns hanging around a temple. It was a very beautiful sight! We were glad that we were in Chinatown to embrace the mid autum festive mood! Well, as for my Daddy, he was so inspired and was into a photography mood. Mommy decided to make me his model, and here I was, taking instruction from mommy and posing for Daddy.
Do you think I look professional? Do you want to consider me as your model too ;P

After my hardwork, Daddy gave me a treat at the Bottle Tree Village! Here I shared with you my last pose for that Saturday. I was so tired as we drove back home :)

Beatrice's 2nd Day of School at MindChamps
Beatrice woke up this morning beaming with eagerness to go to school. We have reminded her that she has to try and take her nap, and she said ok.
We did not stay long in school this morning as parents were not allow to stay with their kids today. Therefore, we left promptly after Ms. Phebe arrived in class. Everything went on fine until 1235pm when I received Ms. Phebe's call. As expected, Beatrice was reluctant to take her nap again, and she was crying for me! Ms. Phebe has seek my permission to respect Beatrice's decision, and she will let Beatrice do some activities. We agreed. Afterwhich, we did not receive any more call from Ms. Phebe.
We pick up Beatrice from school at 530pm just now, and Ms. Phebe greeted us in the hall way with smiles. She has commented that Beatrice was a darling in school today, except for nap time. The teachers actually took turns to carry her while she dozed off when she was being carried. As Ms. Phebe has reported, each time they put her on the cot, Beatrice would start to cry. Hence, Beatrice has only managed to take a very short nap. As for the rest of the nap time, the teachers sang with her, read to her, play with her and even sat in the dark with her! Ms. Phebe wanted to know if Beatrice was afraid of the dark. Well, the experiment has failed. For she has ended up giggling in the dark room with the teachers. "Cheeky she was", said Ms. Phebe.
As we were ushered to PG2 class to pick up Beatrice, she was so busy looking around for toys! And when she saw us, she was so happy and she leaped towards me! I am glad to see our little princess happy in school. And Ms. Phebe further commented that Beatrice would soothe her friends who cried for their parents. And she would also talk to them and bring food for them! Ms. Phebe is proud to have a darling like Beatrice in class. And so are we, as her parents!
Well, Beatrice darling, Daddy and Mommy know that you can make it and you will adapt so quickly in school by next week.
Jia-Yu, Jia-Yu!

My First Day of School - Part II
Larry & I went back to the school at 11 as instructed, to check on Beatrice during her lunch time. As we entered her classroom, we saw Beatrice was seated, behaving very well while waiting for her lunch to be served. Her form teacher, Ms. Phebe approached me and whispered, "She is very fine and she is very chatty. She talked to the other children in the class." We were so glad to hear that Beatrice is coping well, and we were also surprised that she could sit and finished her lunch without moving around! Well, Larry said that the environment does constitute to a behavioural change. Anyway, as Beatrice waited for her turn to have her shower, she demanded for me to carry her and she seems a little wary. We have decided to make our move before she was affected by her peers who were crying for their parents.
Just about when we have finished our lunch and we were heading home, Ms. Phebe called to informed me that Beatrice was crying for mommy when the lights were turn off for nap time. We were both back to the school again, and this time round, I have decided to bring her back home.
Home sweet home. Beatrice was smiling when she reached home, but mommy has decided to put things in the right perspective. Here is our little conversation:
M: Beatrice, mommy needs to talk to you.
B: * sat down on the sofa & smile at mommy
M: Beatrice, why did you cry when Ms. Phebe ask you to nap?
B: When teacher off the light, I cried. I said I want mommy meh.
M: You are in school now, and you have to listen to Ms. Fybie. When it is nap time, you have to
sleep.
B: I don't want to sleep.
M: Okay, so do you want to sleep now?
B: Nope.
M: Alright. Daddy, let go for our nap while Beatrice will sit in the hall and play on her own.
B: Nope. I want to sleep. * she followed mommy to the bedroom.
M: Please sleep now. You will sleep on your pillow and not mine, because when you go to school,
you have to sleep on your pillow.
B: I don't want to sleep.
M: If you don't want to sleep, then keep quiet. Lie on the bed and sing twinkle twinkle softly.
B: * twinkle ... twinkle ... ... ... Beatrice fell asleep within 10mins
Well, I do hope that Beatrice will work on her nap time issue, and she will keep really quiet even if she refuses to sleep. And when she is awake from her nap later (she is still soundly asleep now at 330pm), I will be so busy reminding her like a broke record, that she has to be independent and sleep on her own from this moment on. And I know Beatrice can do it. We will just have to work on it and keep on reminding her.
Our comment to her first day of school:
Beatrice behaved very well. Although there are children in her class who cried and wailed at the sight of their parents leaving them, Beatrice was not affected by them at all until after lunch time. All her teachers commented that she is a very well behaved and brave girl. Even the administrator at the reception area commented that we should be happy parents unlike some who are really stressed.
Indeed, we are very proud of our little princess. She is a big girl now!

My First Day of School at MindChamps
Hurray! Beatrice is finally going to school, and today is her first day of school with MindChamps. School actually started on the 2nd of this month, however, our little princess was down with high fever, cough and runny nose on Sunday. Hence, we have kept her away from school until her fever has subsided.Anyway, both Larry and I have been looking forward to sending Beatrice to school and we have been busy preparing for the school essential for the past 2 months.
Beatrice will be attending the full day session, and she will join 3 other new kids in the PG3 class. MindChamps has only started the preschool this May. The teacher-children ratio at MindChamp is 1:4. Basically, the premise is really comfy since it is still quite new. The school is fully air-condition and it is quite cold. We have been advised by her form teacher to bring long sleeve shirts and pants for change after shower, as it would get quite chilling when the children take their nap in the afternoon.
Well, me being a kia-su and kia-si person, I have been shopping around for really thick non-slip socks, long sleeve shirts and thick track pants for Beatrice. And we have even gotten quite a few pieces of jackets and cardigans for on standby purposes, in case of wacky weather like now.
As for Beatrice, we have been talking to her about going to school and behaving in school. We have also been reminding her of the Dos and Don't in class for the past 2 months. Generally as a whole, I think she is quite eager to go to school and she is quite "mentally" prepared. This morning, before Teacher Phebe was in class, she was able to engage in free play as by herself. And Teacher Margaret from PG1 has commented that Beatrice is very independent. Well, we are keeping our fingers crossed and we do hope that Beatrice is doing fine when we pop by during her lunch time at about 11.

Term 3 @ JG
This is my last term with Julia Gabriel. Mommy do not want to overstretch me since I will be attending my playgroup this September.I will miss my favourite Teacher Pix and Tu Lao-Shi indefinitely. And my friends too, when I just got to know them by names, I have to leave them.
Well, I hope to see them real soon next year when some of them will be enrolled for the EduDrama.

Firework Celebration on the Singapore Flyer
We received tickets from Ah-Gu in the beginning of this year for rides on the Singapore Flyer, and Mommy has decided to reserved them for special occasion, since it will only expired in February 2009.Mommy has been scouting around for fireworks display, when she chanced up the Singapore Tourism website about the Annual Fireworks Celebration. She quickly made her reservation with the Singapore Flyer for the 9pm ride on 22 August.
The rain that nite has caused a slight delayed in the fireworks display. We were quite lucky to catch 10 mins of the displays on the Singapore Flyer and 5 mins on ground when we landed from the Singapore Flyer.
The overall experiences, it was awesome to ride the Singapore Flyer and view the fireworks on display. Come next year, Daddy has promised that we will watch the fireworks display directly from the floating platform! Hurray ....
Here are some pictures to share with you. Enjoy!
