A Visit to Aunty Alice House on Christmas Day

We were supposed to have lunch with the Ang's family on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, Uncle Sean is down with cough and flu. So, mommy decided to drop by their house to pay them a visit and to deliver a gift for Mei-mei Amelia.

It has been a long while since we last saw Mei-mei Amelia. See, she is taller, grown much prettier *that's what my Daddy has said (he loves pretty girls/women)* and her hair is longer and a little curly too!

My mommy has lots of praises for Mei-mei Amelia. She kept praising her for her patience and her sweet nature. Unlike me so boyish! hahaha ... Do you know that my mommy was so proud of Mei-mei when she diligently finished sorting all the shapes and put them into the sorter! She is a great kid!

JUST FOR LAUGH!

My mommy has a hard timing trying to instil good mannerism into me and it seems like I have caught the "Terrible Two" characteristics! This makes my mommy so worried. Well, Daddy thinks that mommy has to relax a little as I am still young and the egocentric characteristic is part of my development. Go easy mommy! Try to share the knowledge and give me more reminders, that will help me to learn as I go along!

Aunty Alice house has plenty of toys to play with, unlike mine. My Daddy is only keen in buying me lots of books and books and nothing but books. khiakhiakhiak ... I was so amazed with the numerous toys she has and it has indeed turned me into a toy bully. *aiyoyo* I took ownership of all Mei-mei Amelia's toys, and I even refused to share it with Mei-mei. My mommy was very displeased with my attitude. Guess I will kept in the house for discipline before I can see Mei-mei again ... *sob sob* ...

Here I am, trying to give Mei-mei a Kiss to make up and hope that she will not be angry with me for snatching all her toys away from her. I will try to be nice when I see you next time

My Daddy and Mommy loves these pictures taken with Mei-mei Amelia. See, she is smiling so sweetly! Pretty isn't she! My mommy and Daddy played peek-a-boo with her behind the camera, and that really makes her smile and laugh!

Kor-Kor ShengDa Celebrated his Birthday

We were at Uncle FangJun and Aunty Giralda's house last Saturday, 22nd December 2007. Kor Kor ShengDa is celebrating his Fifth Birthday! We were supposed to have a BBQ celebration, but due to the bad weather, all the Daddies scarified themselves in the rain to BBQ nice food for us.

This is Kor-Kor ShengDa!

Isn't this a great Family Photo!

Hippo Ride December 2007

Mommy has been planning for the Hippo Ride since the beginning of December so that we could admire the Christmas lighting along Orchard Road during the Christmas Season. And this was my second Hippo Ride since December Year 2006!
The intermittent downpour we have been experiencing since the beginning of the month was a major concern. That Friday, the weather was looking great but not until that early evening. W hile we were boarding the Hippo Ride at 1800 hours, raindrops were experienced. We did not go up to the top deck of the bus when we headed to Sentosa for the Songs of the Sea. A sudden heavy downpour drenched vistors to the Songs of the Sea, but not us! Because my "kiasu" parents were back to the Hippo Bus 5 mins after the show started, when a few huge drop of rain were felt. We were indeed lucky for not being caught in the bad weather.
The rain did not last long. When the bus entered Orchard Road, the rain has already stopped. We went up to the upper deck to admire the beautiful purple lighting along Orchard Road. It was a busy sight at Orchard with lots of shoppers and tourists on the street. There were caroling and performances staged on the street too. The roads along Orchard Road were not spare from the heavy jam too.

Christmas Eve at Orchard Road

We spent our Christmas Eve Santa hunting at Orchard Road. Mommy read about Santa photo shot at Ngee Ann City and she had coaxed Daddy to bring us there. Well, he was not a real Santa, but a Very Cute Mascot. I did not get to sit on his lap like what mommy has told me cause he was simply too cute for the seat! Sorry folks, we cannot show off the picture here cause my mommy has not scan it yet. It was taken by the Canon promoter =(

After the Santa hunt and photoshot, we settled for our dinner at the Pasta Cafe at Takashimaya. Look at me, I was having a hard time deciding what I wanna eat. Everytime mommy ask: "Beatrice, what do you want?" and I will go:"Hmm ...." Not capable of reading, I can only point point point. Eventually, mommy decided for me and we all had pasta for our dinner. The service provided in this cafe is quite good as the lovely waitress served me warm water without my mommy requesting for it.

Nursery Rhymes, Good for Language and Pronounciation

My mommy has been reading nursery rhymes to me since I was 2 months old. Now at 19 months old, I am able to sing a number of rhymes with clear pronunciation. These includes Little Miss Muffet, Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, I am a little Teapot, and Incy Wincy Spider.
It is apparent why researchers and educators encourage parents to read nursery rhymes to their children when they are young! Nursery Rhymes has indeed aid in my articulation of words and the longest word I am capable of pronouncing at this moment is Hippopotamus. Sentence construction is my next challenge, and I have learnt to request for my milk from my Daddy in a full sentence. This is what I will tell my Daddy:" Daddy, please, I want to drink milk milk."
.
To mimic and to repeat what was shared to me is an easy task for me. What I am handicapped in now is word recognition. Mommy is still struggling very hard to teach me on words recognition. Guess it will take quite a well for me to master this skill as I am kinda lazy now and my attention span is super duper short. Meanwhile, I can only increase my vocabulary by listening.
Uncles and Aunties out there, if you wanna get nursery rhyme small enough for our little hands to hold, check out Popular bookstore. A set of 8 different rhymes cost about S$19. Do check it out if you are interested. Have Fun!

Learning to Smile =)

Mommy has been teaching me to smile when Daddy takes picture of me. I think it is really hard for me not to smile with my eyes closed. Guess I have to practice on my smiling skills more often with Daddy and his camera ... kekeke ...

The Growing and Learning Phase

Time waits for no man, and without knowing, our little Beatrice is already 18 months and going 19 soon! Well, sometimes when I close my eyes to look back at how much my little Beatrice has grown, it always bring a smile on my face. Till now, it is still quite hard for me to comprehend on how could a small little pea in my tum-tum, grow to be such a cute and lovely little girl! hahha ... you've gotta pardon me for singing all the praises of my own daughter. But I do think that for all parents, deep down in their hearts, they have THE BEST and the most LOVEABLE kids!

These pictures above well depict what a notorious girl I have. Hmm .. kids are kids after all, and we were once like that too, but much much simpler I guess *grin*
Actually, sharing and talking about all the sweetie sides of Beatrice is not an intention to make one envy or marvel at. But rather, to make a quite stress out mommy feels comforted. Well, at least, when I am fueled off with all her challenges. For I will only remember her goodness and not the bad! And this is what we as parents have to learn, I do think so. Ya ya, I know it's tough and we still learning too and experimenting with it sometimes. hahahaa ..
Nowadays, we have learnt to amuse our little girl when we need peace and ease during our meal times. And most of the time, this happens when we are out shopping. I remembered Chow Wee bringing out a bag full of toys, doddle board, books and coloring aids just to keep his little Alyosius occupied when we eat and chat. Now, it is our turn to bring all kinds of gadgets to amuse our little Beatrice and keep her busy while we tuck the food in our mouth slowly, and pleasantly with TASTE! Well, honestly, it was really really tough initially when we bring our little rascal out for meals as she was not co-operative at all. With all kinds of delicious and yummy tasting food at sight, they would all turn bland when we dump them into our mouth so quickly, in order to make a quick exist from the restaurant or food court before the next wail starts! Stress, I would say for both Larry and I who loves to eat and wanted so much to have those great tasting food linger a little long in our palates!
Well, proud to say that we have learnt and sort of master a little tricks and tips from friends out there who are parents too. Thank you so much for your sharing, for we are more at eased now and we are really enjoying our meal times when we are out shopping!

JUST FOR LAUGH!

Oh, the other thing about growing up tots, they are just not camera co-operative! I guess it was the environment and the activities around them, that are constantly distracting them. While I shouted out for Beatrice's attention to look at the camera, like a Ah-Soh would. She would turn her head in spilt seconds, say Cheeze and turn back to whatever that has caught her curiosity! And a quick snap with blurred vision or a turning head was captured of little Beatrice.
So ... nowadays, to capture a picture of Beatrice looking straight at the camera is tough. And the only one who is looking pretty is either Me or Larry! Therefore, all friends and relatives out there, please bear with us as we try to capture the best picture of our little girl. But for now, we will try to make our very best to look really pretty and handsome for the camera, while little Beatrice shows her head turning pose in the picture!

Looney Tunes

This December school holiday may be a busy one for most parents as they bring their little tots to shopping malls to catch their favourite cartoon and animated characters. From Barney to Looney Tunes, there is also Dora, Characters from the Disney Playhouse and many more! Guess which is the next one Daddy will bring me to =D

Repetition is a Fun Activity

Every afternoon, after our nap, my Mama will play with us, sing song with us and recite poems with my cousin Jie-Jie Alicia. While I play with my dolly and my toys, I was also listening to the recital. One fine afternoon, as we were engaged in our usual activities, my Mama jokingly prompted me to try and recite one of the Tang poem she has shared with my Jie-Jie. Surprisely, I was able to read out some lines and this really amazed my Mama. She was really excited and decided to teach me the Tang poems too!

Great Job! That's what my mommy will say. And it does proved her theory right again.

Children like us learn when we are repeat with a certain task, action or word continuously. And reminders are needed as we tend to forget things quite easily too!

A Lazy Sunday for Movies

Recently, I am quite capable of demanding from my Daddy to have my favourite movies played. Look how engrossed I was in the pictures. I was watching the movie, Monster Inc.

This is a really scary movie, and I just love the part when the monster put up their scary acts. The other favourite movie of mine is Ratatouille! Wanna join me?

Barney Ride

I love You, You Love Me
We are Happy Family
With A Great Big Hug
and A Kiss from Me to You
Won't You Say You Love Me Too!

Yes! I love Barney a great deal, and I will always ask Daddy and Mommy to let me take the Barney Ride.

Well, before there was ME, my mommy has never ever fancy this Purple Dinosaur. And she will always wonder why kids love him so much! Hmmm ... guess she has given up guessing now ... it's just to complex to understand toddler like ME =D

Buffet Lunch @ The Nobel House

Mommy and Daddy had a gathering @ The Nobel House to celebrate and share the joy of Aunty Jesmin and Uncle Derrick who wedded on the 21st Day of November 2007. Conincidentally, it was also my Daddy & Mommy's wedding anniversary! hahaa .. Mommy says that she will alway remember Aunty Jesmin's anniversary day when she celebrates hers in future =)

Look at Gor-Gor Alyosius! He is looking more and more like Uncle Chow-Wee. A photocopy resemblance.

A group photo to capture all the sweet, nice memories that we have shared!
Playful Aunty Jesmin! Don't you think she looks wild with that Safari Giraffe. Khiakhiakhiak ...
