Went out with Shiyan to get presents for his friends. He says I grumble alot today. :p Well, I'm sorry if I love to grumble. LOL. I love to make other people's days hell. I miss church. All of a sudden, I feel a deep desire to return back to church. What's wrong with me??

Tomorrow I'll be heading to Music Underground with lian. Wonder what's it like there but well, just wanna enjoy myself before everything else dies down. I've chosen to re-submit myself back to Him. It's a no bargain deal. It's a do or die.

And I wanna do it.

I didn't go school today. Something's wrong with me. Mum is pissed with me, as usual and all I can do is keep quiet and let her say her piece. I'm really feeling very tired and very restless about things.

Maybe it's cos I haven't been to church for a while. Gee. Never knew the impact church has on me but well, I'll be back this weekend so ya, hopefully that will set me back on track.

I miss fellowship with my fellow Christian mates. I miss hearing the entire church congregation sing out in praises to Him. But please don't think I've turned stale in my worshipping Him. If in any case, it began to grow.

I find myself singing to him whilst I'm bathing, changing my clothes, putting on my accessories and whenever I felt like it. In the past, I never felt this joyfulness within my heart to keep singing praises to Him.

In the night, I find myself opening up more and more often to Him. Telling Him of my worries more often and praying so very often. I probably never included so much Godly references in my daily speech as well. I just can't help talking about Him nowadays. The break away from church has been good, in a way. It made me realised that I still love Him and that I still wanna serve Him very much.

The break away made me realise that I can't take Him for granted. It's time to do my part. First, I'll need to pick out all my lazy bones. Any help with that?

I feel so tired. -yawns- Have never felt this tired despite sleeping so much. This is really getting me down. My mum is screaming at me. My dad gave up on me. Seriously, I'm giving up on myself.

I thinks I've hypersomnia. First, it's insomnia. Now this. Argh.

What is Hypersomnia ?
Hypersomnia is characterized by recurrent episodes of excessive daytime sleepiness or prolonged nighttime sleep. Different from feeling tired due to lack of or interrupted sleep at night, persons with hypersomnia are compelled to nap repeatedly during the day, often at inappropriate times such as at work, during a meal, or in conversation. A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next door. It
had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls, career,
and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country
in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had
little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife
and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him. Over the
phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral is
Wednesday."
Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly
remembering his childhood days.
"Jack, did you hear me?"
"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him
I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said. "Well, he
didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd
reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side of the fence' as he
put it," Mom told him.
"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.
"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure
you had a man's influence in your life," she said. "He's the one who taught
me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for
him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were
important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said. As busy as he
was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr.
Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own,
and most of his relatives had passed away. The night before he had to
return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one
more time. Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like
crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time. The
house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every
picture, every piece of furniture....Jack stopped suddenly.

"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked.
"The box is gone," he said.
"What box? " Mom asked.
"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must
have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was
'the thing I value most,'" Jack said.
It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it,
except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.
"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get
some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom." It had been about two weeks
since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a
note in his mailbox. "Signature required on a package. No one at home.
Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note
read.
Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and
looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was
difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr. Harold
Belser" it read.
Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside
was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside.
"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett.
It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to the
letter His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked
the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch. Running his
fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover.
Inside he found these words engraved: "Jack, Thanks for your time! - Harold Belser."
"The thing he valued most...was...my time."
Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared
his appointments for the next two days. "Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.
"I need some time to spend with my son," he said.
"Oh, by the way, Janet...thanks for your time!"

Painted my fingernails orange and my toenails red. It's so nice to see a split and difference in something that belongs to just one.

I spoke to him today. It's everybody's guess who's this HIM I'm referring to but I believe those who really know me well, will know who this HIM I'm referring to is.

We were talking casually about things. As usual, the familiarity was still lingering there. We spoke about the past. We spoke about the future. I kept pushing him to get a girlfriend and he kept saying he won't be getting one anytime soon.

He doesn't see that the only way for me to have an excuse not to speak to him, is for him to get a girl. My heart aches whenever I have to put up that front in speaking to him. But he doesn't know it. Nah, he never will and I guess it's better to keep things this simple.

He said maybe he'll see me this coming weekend when he books out.

A store manager overheard a clerk saying to a customer, "No, ma'am, we haven't had any for some weeks now, and it doesn't look as if we'll be getting any soon."

Alarmed by what was being said, the manager rushed over to the customer who was walking out the door and said, "That isn't true, ma'am. Of course, we'll have some soon. In fact, we placed an order for it a couple of weeks ago."

Then the manager drew the clerk aside and growled, "Never, never, never, never say we don't have something. If we don't have it, say we ordered it and it's on its way. Now, what was it she wanted?"

The clerk smiled and said, "Rain."

There is only one God and I am not Him!
We must come to the realization that there are some things that we cannot provide. There is only one God and I am not Him! When all is said and done in the book of Job, that's the message with which we are left. After Job spent most of the book begging to know why God had allowed all sorts of horrible things to happen to him, God answered Job. However, he never directly answered Job's questions. He merely reminded him of which one of them was God:

"Have you ever ordered the morning to begin, or shown the dawn where its place was? ... Can you bring out the stars on time? ... Can you shout an order to the clouds and cover yourself with a flood of water? Can you send lightning bolts on their way? ... Job, are you the one who gives the horse its strength or puts a flowing mane on its neck?" (Job 38:12,32,34-35; 39:19 NIV)
The answers to God's questions are too obvious. Like Job, I can't do any of those things. I sometimes make the mistake of thinking, "If I were God, I would do things differently." ReadingJob 38 and 39 serves to remind me that I don't even come close to having the qualifications for the job.

So, like Job, I will humble myself in the presence of the Almighty and bow down before Him, trusting Him even in the midst of those things I don't always fully understand.

I'm supposed to email Dickson about some stuff but I'm still holding back. Don't ask me why. Sometimes, I really wish I could do something about this escaping technique I've been employing against all the issues that I'm facing. I know it won't help cos the further I run, the faster it'll catch up with me.

I've taken my first step by deciding that I wanna get right with Him. I've taken my second step by blocking his contact. And from now, please do not pressurise me to conform to the Christian crowd. I wanna do it... one step at a time.

Right now, I feel like a newborn infant, taking her first steps in life. Each step taken has the potential to stumble and fall. But like the infant, I wish I'll just cry my eyes out and pluck up my courage to continue on this learning journey. I feel as if I'm learning how to smile again. Like how innocently an infant smiles.

Yes, there's a positive feel to it yet there's this barrier of fear that I'm still not able to conquer. The unfamiliarity of grounds that are laid before me. The losing of this character that I've build as a wall against my vulnerabilities. The loss of my addictions. I'm afraid of losing... losing all these beautiful devices that I've so painstakingly carved out to protect my very heart. Afraid of losing myself.

Lord,

The world seems so dark and menacing that my mind seems to be just closing in. Strength and energy ebbs away as the hands on the clock goes ticking by. Loneliness seems to surround me and embraces me like a mother to her newborn. Alienation seems rife in this world as lovers became strangers and strangers to enemies.

A loss of humanity in this lovely world that You've created, creating a deep longing and desire for love to enter into my world. Sorely turned away at the door, I sat and weeped uncontrollably through the nights.

Father, You said, "Seek and ye shall find". I sought but nothing was the gold. As the pendulum of time goes swinging by, visions of a solitary future kept flashing. I don't understand what it means and wisdom, I beg, would be given upon me to comprehend these wild thoughts of mine.

Father, I love You. The love I have for You is so much greater than before. I've never felt a love so strong, powerful for so long. I feel the deep desire to serve You. To love You. To uphold Your words. Most importantly, to be just like You.

Let Your will be done, my Lord, and not mine.

Amen.

Brought my brother to watch Harry Potter and cos I've watched it before, my mind spaced out to yesterday's conversation with Gracia. She's truly one amazing kid and I'm really please to know how God has used her to communicate with me.

I went for tuition as per normal. Slightly later but I was there. Mrs Teo called and ask if I was going cos I was late and I said yes, I'll definitely be there and then she said,

"Gracia is looking forward to the tuition. Please reach soon."

That's my first reward as a teacher. I've a student who anticipates my arrival.

But that's not the end of it. There was more to come. As the session came to a close, Gracia suddenly had lots of questions for me to answer. Questions about life. Questions about the universe. Questions about religion.

"Do you believe in Christ, Clara?"

"Yes, I do." *smiles*

"Me too."

This was just the beginning of a very interesting conversation that got me to walk all the way from her place to my own as I was too engrossed in my own thoughts.

"How about ghosts? Do you believe in them?"

"I don't. I believe in spirits. Holy spirits. Angels and devils."

"I do. There are just so many things that can't be explained in this world."

*smiles* "There are just some things in this world that are not meant for Man to understand."

"Hm. Clara, do you know who's doubtful Thomas? I can't remember if his name was Thomas but he's from the Bible. When Jesus rose from the dead and met his disciples, Thomas wasn't around and he doubted Christ's resurrection. It was only when he saw Christ with his own eyes that he believe He was alive once again. That's why he's called doubtful Thomas."

"Thomas? Ya. I know him. Some of us just can never believe things till we see it with our own eyes but by then, it might be too late..."

She never realised how much impact that little conversation had on me. Little Gracia, all of 11 years, was used by God to speak to me.

And what coincidence is there that Gracia is spanish for Grace.

By God's grace, we're saved.

Happy birthday Beizhen! Hope you had a sweet 19th birthday. :) -huggles- And I'm really blessed to have you as my sister in Christ! :D

I've made up my mind to leave church. Don't scold me or say anything. I just felt that it's time for me to be alone for a while. Away from judgmental views. Away from condemnation. And find myself back again.

I feel a deep desire to figure out, on my own, what exactly is my calling with Him and decide from there forth.

I'm just too tired to go on in church with a fake smile. Hypocrisy is the worse thing to happen to a church where I expect myself to be true to everyone there.

It's over.

The play. The production. The finale.

Controlling. Swallowing my tears through the camp. Staying up late till the wee hours just so that I could be me. The real me, who needed to cry so badly but all I could do was laugh and joke in the presence of my so-called family members.

Nobody saw the tears flowing within me. Nobody saw the pain I was going through. And I don't blame them. But not all were blind. He wasn't blind. Everynight, I cried out to Him whilst I shower. Everynight, I cried out to Him whilst I lay on my bed. Everynight, I cried out to Him whilst I tied knot after knot.

I may not get to go for the Mission Trip but what can I do about it? It doesn't matter to me if I get to go or not anymore cos all I wanna know now is...

KEY THOUGHT:
People were not quite sure what to think or do about Jesus. Some argued
with his disciples about the small points of his ministry. I find it
interesting that those who gave Jesus' disciples the hardest time were
the religious teachers. The regular folks, "the crowd," saw something
in Jesus that was awesome and were drawn to him. I wonder what would
happen if we as "religious people" worried less about pleasing other
religious people and focused more on sharing Jesus with the masses of
common folks who do not really know him!

TODAY'S PRAYER:
O God, forgive me for trying to keep the religious folks around me
happy ignoring the lost and hungry souls around me. In Jesus' name I
pray. Amen.

It has been a long time since I took that long, solitude walk back from Tampines Mall. Eversince I took on the Project Timothy course, I find myself getting more and more disoriented. It's freakish cos we're not supposed to get more disoriented, rather, we should be getting more oriented. Yet, as the weeks go by, I find myself enjoying church more yet with a hint of need to detach myself from it.

Things happened and I'm contemplating a serios thought in my mind. It might spell the end of something but it could also spell the beginning of something else but I don't know. I have been thinking about it for quite a while and it's really bothering me deep inside. I told some people about it but I know that I won't listen to anyone but me and Him.

I feel the craving for alcohol again. It's an addiction. I probably have to sign up AAA which is not located in Singapore. LOL. Anonymous Alcoholics Association. :) I know I'm on a down spiral that's going faster and faster. That I'm drowning... drowning. I tried to pull myself up, in fact, up till now, I'm still trying. They said trying is 50% of the battle won yet I felt that trying is the best I can do. Apparently, I often fall into the losing category.

Some unexpected consolation came last night from Mervin before he went to serve the country this morning. Though we've been like mere acquaintence, just him being there, reading my thoughts, is comforting enough. Sometimes, some things are best left unspoken. What you don't know can't possibly kill, can it? But it definitely will kill the one trying so hard to hide it within her bosom.

There are choices to be made and questions to be answered. There are paths to be taken and journeys to be completed. Do I have the mind to handle all these? I do not know. But I know that one wrong choice made, a wrong answer to a wrong question, a wrong path would lead to an incomplete or unsatisfied journey. I have to make my choice. I have to decide. And all I'm gonna do is

Pray and Believe.

Read this on someone else's blog and found it really meaningful.

Once upon a time... there was a rich King who had 4 wives.

He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighbouring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidante and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her to help him get through the difficult times.

The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short.

He thought of his luxurious life and pondered, "I now have 4 wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!"

His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave."

Her answer came like a bolt of thunder and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out: "I'll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go." The King looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, she suffered from malnutrition.

Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In Truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives ...

Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our Soul, often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the ego. However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go.

So cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now! It is your greatest gift to offer the world.

But the places we go never permitted for a smart casual wear.

When I got into the car with Raymond, you started getting jealous and loud when Raymond asked if he could date me.

When we headed on to get food for you, you told me you missed me alot and you don't understand why and asked me whether I felt the same.
