Over at Deconstructing Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #86 this week, was an awesome sketch. I used my Unity Stamp Co. set called Fabulous Girl stamp and sentiment stamp. I used papers by My Minds Eye called Quilting Bee, my nestibilities circles, some ribbon from Ribbon Carousel (that is no longer available :) ), and some buttons from the button box from my mom. I really like how this paper went with the stamp.
This is my place to share, to show and to shine!! I am blessed to be a mom to my girls, a wife to Keith and a sister, aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt!

Crazy 4 Challenges 170
Crazy for Challenges had a new challenge, well for me anyway, it was called Raising the Bar. What you did was go and look at one of the design team members, Bar's Paper Pursuits blog and CASE one of her cards. I had a lot of fun looking at her blog and I finally chose this one to case - Hi Sweet Friend - Jan. 6, 2013, it is a very sweet card. For mine, I used Unity Stamp Co. 's Stamp of the week, Hello Pretty. The paper are from a Colorbok Vintage Rose stack. I used a Martha Stewart punch, Heidi Swapp edge distressers, cheap pearls. My ribbon is from Whimsy Stamps and the lace and buttons are from my mom's stash that I got when we cleaned out her house.
I really hope you like this card, I love it and I especially made it for a friend who needs a little TLC right now!!
( I am also going to enter this in Friends With Flair at Unity this week)

Drenched and a Sketch for From the Heart Stamps
From the Heart Stamps has given us a second sketch challenge. For this challenge I used a sweet little stamp, Drenched. This is how I am feeling the last two or three days, the cold weather we had has now turned to rain and I would rather have 30 degree days with no Northeaster blowing and the sun shining! I used paper from My Minds Eye - A Mother's Love and SU Festival of Print. My tear drop circle nestabilities, an EK Success punch and this beautiful red ribbon from Ribbon Carousel. (Sorry for the shadows, my camera, which we finally found, has quit working so I was using Cis' camera and it is toooo high tech for me!!)
Unscripted Sketches 194 and a piggyback challenge.
At Unscripted Sketches this week, along with the sketch challenge was a piggyback challenge to add a sticker. I went into the sticker box and found this sticker with beautiful roses. I am slowly trying to make my unknown stacks of papers go away, so I used the two greens for the background papers. I used a stamp by Susan Branch from All Night Media, smooshing some Blush Ink from CTMH around the saying. Some baby pink buttons and Blush Ribbon from Whimsy Stamps.

Whimsy Guest Design Team Spot
I love the stamps at Whimsy Stamps. They have opened up a Guest Designer Contest and I thought I would enter. For my card I used Wee Stamps Mountain Lily designed by Sylvia Zet. The background paper and the cut out (LaRue Flourish from Memory Box) are papers from ProvoCraft Paper Pallette Handmade papers in blues and purples. The rhinestone is a Sapphire birthstone gem from Forever in Time. I also used White Flower Soft for her vest and ties. The ribbon is from Ribbon Carousel. I love the look of Mountain Lily, to me she just needs wintery snowyness around her. I also got to use my Promarkers from Letraset that I won from Jak Heath and a couple of my Copics.

Let's Do Lunch!! (C4C169)
Let's Do Lunch !! I am in love with this SOTW from Unity Stamp Co. I joined the Stamp of the Week after Christmas and every week I get a stamp in my mailbox. This one so reminds me of when I was little. I used it in the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch challenge this week.
I used the Chevron paper from Nana's Kids DCWV Stack, and ribbon from American Crafts. I colored it in with as many bright colors of my copics that I have.

Stamping Challenges Sketch #3
I found a new challenge site, Stamping Challenges. I really liked their sketch for this week, so I decided to try it using the chalkboard technique. I used, of course, my favorite set, Moment by Moment from Unity Stamp Co. This stamp set is so awesome and I just love it. I used White Embossing powder and then stamped lightly with white ink over the embossing and rubbed it around a tad on the two tags. I added some white colored pencil to a couple places. I cut out the heart circle nestabilities and the LaRue Flourish from Memory Box and set the tags over it. I used white Offray ribbon and a couple black and white circles from Momenta.

A little green and chocolate!!
Got 'cha with that one. LOL Probably thought I was green because I ate too much chocolate. Nope, it is the colors I used for the sketch at Deconstructing Jen - Deconstructed Sketch # 85!! I used a sentiment from the Moment by Moment stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. I got my DCWV Sweet stack out and used the dp from that stack, I used Coredinations papers for the green (Granny Smith) and chocolate (Nutmeg) and Prima flowers, along with a Martha Stewart punch and some unknown brads.
I love the look of the chocolate and green. I am a little green around the gils this weekend, since my husband has shared his stuffiness with me even though I lysol'd the house and him!!!

I used CTMH Chocolate and paper from CTMH paper packet Life Delights and Core-dinations Sugar and Spice to set this sweet image on. I used this beautiful 1" Pink Sheer Tinsel Edged Ribbon from Ribbon Carousel to finish it off.

At Unity Stamp Company, they have a Friends with Flair on Friday's and I am taking part today. I used my new stamp set Easier with You by my Side. I colored with my watercolored pencils first and then added some color with my copics. I used Horse paper from Reminisce and Star paper from Adorn It's Buckaroo Collection. I have had this trim laying around for a while and I thought it worked perfect. To go see all the other Friends with Flair, go here Unity Friends with Flair.

A little bit of happy mail.
I absolutely love this sweet little digital image from From the Heart Stamps. I colored it in with my copics and then used some scrap papers to layer it. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch and a Recollections flower and a piece of Offray ribbon. I am joining their sketch challenge here.
Shape It Up!! C4C168
At the Crazy 4 Challenges blog, the challenge for the week was to do "Anything but a standard A2 or square card! We want to see you shape it up! ".
So, I got out my Tear Drop Circles from Spellbinders and cut a card. I used the smaller Tear drop to cut out the pink and my Circles nestabilities to cut the greens and white. I stamped the butterflies from Unity Stamp Company called
Moment by Moment. I added a green flower made by Katie Renz. I have only a few of her flowers and so I only use them on cards for people who knew her so this is going to a good friend of ours.

The sentiment is from a set from Stampendous called Hey There Cupcake. I used paper from Handmade by Lilybee design that I got from My Favorite Things stamps. I used some Vintage Scarlet Rick Rack from my Mom's stash that I have had since she passed, Maraschino Bakers Twine from Ribbon Carousel and my Spellbinders circle and scallop circle nestabilities.

Another Moxie Fab Challenge Card
At Moxie Fab World, another challenge was to use a homemade stamp, so I searched and found a lego hanging out in my craft room and I used it to stamp circles around a sentiment from Stampin; Up (2000). I used CTMH Felicity Collection for the papers, Old Olive for the ink, Offray ribbon and a heart button.
Moxie Fab World - Make your own background.
Moxie Fab World had another challenge for 75 Creative Card Challenges, this time it was to make your own background paper. So I looked around to what I could use and I found a wooden thread spool that I had just emptied of thread. I stamped the end of the spool in CTMH Dutch Blue onto white paper. Then added three Recollection star brads to it, an American Art Stamp -Fireworks and some star ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.

Winter Spirit at Ribbon Carousel
At the Ribbon Carousel Blog the Challenge was Winter Spirit. I have this sweet stamp, Christmas Pony from Whimsy Stamps that I didn't get to use before Christmas, so I colored her in with my Copics, used paper from My Mind's Eye Festive Frost for the background and the snowflakes (both punches are Martha Stewart snowflakes), added a fancy button from Stampin' Up, the hat and her coat are embellished with Flowersoft White and the beautiful ribbon is, of course, from my favorite ribbon store, Ribbon Carousel.
Make a Window Card at Moxie Fab
At Moxie Fab World this week it is 75 Creative Card Challenges Week and this one was to make a Window Card. I used my Cuttlebug frame to make my window, I cut out the center and added some clear plastic. I stamped Unity Stamp Co.'s new release Beauty Around You and colored it with my copics and added it to the back of the frame. I then added all of it to a Center Step card that I had made. I added a couple charms to the window using Chocolate Bakers Twine from Ribbon Carousel and added some paper from Basic Grey's Sophie Collection Variegated stripes. I stamped the sentiment and added it to the inside of the card.

Some January Blues. . . . .
I decided to jump in and join Cupcake Craft Challenges and their challenge this week was January Blues. So, I used a Martha Stewart Bird stamp, and colored it so it looked like a Steller Jay that we have in the yard. I used handmade paper from Provo Craft Paper Paette in Blues and Purples, used some light blue to cut out the Die-namics Fancy Flourish from My Favorite Things and then some Martha Stewart gems!!

Sadness!!
Auntie Sis and Me!! |
This week did not start off on a good note, my favorite Aunt in the whole world passed away during the night Sunday. She lived in Montana, which is a few hours away from me in Washington and I hadn't seen her in a year and a half. Her name is Vivian Cecelia Russell Honrud, my Auntie Sis. She was born in Custer, WA in 1932 and was the youngest and only girl with 5 older brothers, one being my Daddy. She married my Uncle Fred (LeRoy) and moved to Loma, Montana to be a wheat farmers wife. She had 6 kids, my cousins Don, Rick, LeAnn, Nanci Jo, Les and Russ. A few years ago, my cousin LeAnn lost her battle with cancer and passed away! My Dad loved his baby sister and missed her every day, when they would talk on the phone or get together, the love and laughter just flowed so openly between the two. When Keith and I found out that we were having twin girls, we named Cecelia after her. My aunt was here right before my dad passed away, we knew the day she left that he didn't have much time, he told her not to turn around, that it was ok and he passed away the next morning. I know in my heart that my Daddy was waiting for her and they are together, telling jokes and fishing with my Grandma.

Another card?? Yep and with my SOTW from Unity Stamps
I stamped him/her and colored in with my few copics and then found some scraps of CTMH papers and CTMH blush ribbon, that were happy colors. I used Flower Soft white for the pompoms on her hat and icicle stickles for the snow on the branch. I love how it turned out!!
Thanks for visiting! Please leave a comment, it makes my heart smile :) |
