9th Annual Dutch Oven Cookoff

Every 24th of July Will's Mom throws the annual Dutch Oven Cook Off. We have won a prize every year (except the first year because Will was still on his mission and I had no idea how to cook.) This year we did Chicken Pot Pie and Dutch Caramel Apples. We completely thought the pot pie would steal the show and win first place but as everyone came and started cooking we quickly realized that everyone brought some really good dishes! The Dutch Apples were a last minute decision and it won 2nd place in the desserts. Will also got an honorable mention for his smoked chicken. It had nothing to do with dutch oven cooking but it was delicious! Here are some awesome pictures from the fun filled day!

Our awesome judges!

All of the 2nd place winners in their winning aprons.
It was so much fun!!
Thanks again Skyeler for all the pictures! I have some other pictures around here somewhere. Maybe they will have to be in a separate post.

Bountiful Parade and Fireworks

It is the annual Bountiful City Parade and Fireworks.

Naomi's favorite was the princesses.

May favorite is the bagpipers. Hey Mr. Morrill!

Thanks Skyeler for taking all the pictures!

We love hanging out with the cousins!

We had gone to the carnival thing at the park earlier that day and of course Naomi needed her face painted. We also ate a bunch of fair food. Mmmm. Fry bread.....

Later that night we watched the fireworks and the girls zonked out on the way home. So much fun!

Camping at Redman Campground

Last weekend we went camping with some awesome friends, the Barnes'. We did all the usual camping things.

The boys chopped the wood for the campfire.

We had awesome food. Mac n Cheese, Tinfoil dinners, and Peach Cobbler.

The kids played around. Nathan and lane made a teeter todder out a pine tree limb. Later they figured out a more comfortable way to do it.

There was this tiny little creek running through the campground, right next to our camp. That was some lovely sounds to go to sleep to.  Of course the kids had fun playing in it too. I think it was a miracle no one ended up falling in.

I tried to get a picture of everyone, but some how I missed 3 of them. We must have been having too much fun!

Curlers

Naomi wanted curlers in her hair and of course Alana wanted some too. Their hair is getting so long! Alana's is finally long enough for pigtails and curlers!

Love my girls!!

How to shave off a beard

The best way to shave off a beard is in stages of course.

The full beard.

The goatee.

The fu-man-chu.

The mustache.

The thin mustache (like Grandpa had).

The clean shave.

Now Will understand why I would never let him have a mustache. I just laughed at him. Love you hon!

Knight Family Reunion

At the end of June we joined Grandpa and Grandma K at the Knight family camp out. We slept two night in our tent, hung out, relaxed, and ate some really good food. Will smoked some ribs for the family dinner and we had lots of dutch oven food. Mmmmm, yummy! We even took some time to go peek at the Grand Escalante National Park. Enjoy the pictures!
