..baby finn in 3D..

lance and i broke down and went to fetal studio...again...bc we wanted to see our little baby in 3D. we went there last october to find out the sex of the baby, and the guy who runs it is just the sweetest man ever so we decided to give him some more business. :) plus, the ultrasound pictures at this place are WAY better quality than the ones from my doctor, and let's be honest, we just like to see our little babe every now and then...what's wrong with that?!

i feel like we can already pick out parts of little finn's personality just from going here...he seems to be very shy and lazy! :) he was covering his face with his arms and knees most of the time...i guess he doesn't like the camera. that is something that will change in no time, bc no kid of mine will ever be camera shy!

according to his head measurements, he is a week and a couple days ahead of schedule - that must mean he's a smartie pants. :) and according to the rest of the measurements he is about 4 days ahead of schedule. he weighs 3.45lbs, which is a little above average (the ultrasound dr. said that's thanks to me :) not sure if that's good or bad haha)! baby finn has chubby cheeks and a cute little button nose...and he is still a boy, thank goodness! he seems to be very healthy and doing just fine in there, although he did look a little cramped. can you believe this is how we all start out? nine months in our momma's belly?! c.r.a.z.y.! what a miracle it truly is, i feel so blessed for the opportunity to be carrying this cute little baby.

..resolutions..

well well, after yesterdays dr's appointment...and well let's be honest, the weigh in...i have decided to make some new year's resolutions, mostly about food! and i am posting it for the world to see in an effort to hold myself that much more responsible.
#1. continue to not eat fast food. i have gone two whole months without eating at any fast food restaurants ( mcdonalds, wendys, taco bell, etc...) and am going to continue not eating at those types of places for the duration of 2011.
#2. NO mac-n-cheese. this has been my downfall the past month. i have always l.o.v.e.d. macaroni and cheese...especially kraft...but there is no nutritional value and it is so SO fattening.
#3. NO potato chips. ever since i have been pregnant i have craved salt way more than usual...and during those first few months when only certain things tasted good i found myself relying on lays potato chips to soothe my nauseous tum tum. and even though everything tastes good to me these days, i still find myself eating potato chips way more than i should be, so i QUIT!
#4. cut back significantly on cheese. i am trying to set realistic, achievable goals, which is why i am not going to totally eliminate cheese from my diet. that being said, i still eat way more cheese than is good for me or my thighs, so i am saying NO to cheese on sandwiches, NO cheese quesadillas, pizza one time a week or less, and when it comes to pasta i am going to try to order dishes/make dishes with less or no cheese. this resolution is going to be the hardest bc cheese has always been my favorite food.
#5. NO candy bars. there is a vending machine at work, and every morning i walk past and the twix calls out to me! and i try to say no, but always end up giving in...then i feel so bad afterwards. so i am just going to give up candy bars altogether. i know i can do it!!
hopefully at my next appointment i will only have gained what i am supposed to.

..top 10 of 2010..

wow! it is hard to believe that another year has come and gone...and what an amazing year 2010 has been! looking back on this year i realize even more how truly blessed lance and i are. here is a quick look back on some of the highlights of this past year ( in chronological order)...
1. another year older...and wiser too! lance turned 28!!

2. lance found another woman to love...his bigger, better and bad a** truck. while the purchase of this little beauty came as a bit of a surprise to me, I now love this truck and am grateful lance has something so nice and comfy to drive and work in.

3. i got a new job working at a country club in park city. it was nice to experience something new and to work with the people i did.
4. goodbye ogden...HELLO woods cross!! we kicked the renters out of our house, remodeled it and moved on in! i absolutely LOVE everything about our house...the location, the fenced in backyard, our travertine floors, our beautiful new kitchen, all of our furniture and everything I have been able to decorate. living here has been heaven!!!

5. under arrest. the actual going to jail part wasn't so much a highlight, but it is a story that is fun to share, and i still can't believe it happened to me!!!

6. we traded in the POS beamer for a nice and reliable subaru. while the subaru isn't quite as much fun to drive, the fact that it isn't in the shop every other week getting fixed (knock on wood!!!) is a huge plus!
7. we found out i am pregnant!!!

8. ...and then found out it's a BOY!!!!

9. we spent an amazing week relaxing in paradise.

10. we have been so extremely blessed this whole entire year...blessed with good health, work in such an uncertain and unsteady economy...our dogs survived an illness that could have killed them and continue to bring joy to our lives every day...we have been fortunate to spend so much time with family and friends...we have held adorable and healthy babies of friends and family members and caught a little glimpse of what a miracle it truly is...we have watched baby finn grow (through ultrasound pics and my ever expanding belly!)...we celebrated our 2 year anniversary and were actually together for this one (lance was in south america during our first anniversary)...there were so many more highlights of 2010...too many to list.

as amazing as this year has been, i am filled with so much excitement and anticipation for what 2011 has in store for us. i have a feeling it will be another great one!!

..temple square..

happy holidays! i just love this time of year...all of the lights and decorations, the holiday goodies, the shopping, the music, the parties and get-togethers, and mostly just the spirit of christmas - and christ - that is all around us.

last weekend we went to temple square with our friends, dan and kristin. it was insanely busy and a little chilly, but worth going, for sure! the lights were beautiful as always, and it was fun to get together with the walker's.

..for time and all eternity..

Two years ago today I married my best friend. I love him today even more than I did on our wedding day and look forward to the years and adventures to come! What a blessing that he is mine for eternity! Love you Love Bug!! 2 down...forever to go!!

..sparkle, sparkle..

ever since lance was a wee one, he has always been fascinated by sparkly things. he used to carry one of his mom's *sparkly* brooch's around with him everywhere he went...he called it - get this - his "sparkly." ohhhh cute lancey poo. anyway, you get the point. lance likes sparkly things!

needless to say, one of lance's favorite parts of christmas is all the pretty...and yes, sparkly...lights. which works just fine with me, because i love being all festive and decking the halls with as many christmas decorations and lights as possible. i am posting these pictures more for my documentation purposes than anything. i have this funny feeling my house may not be this festive for many years to come - people tell me that when you have little ones, you can't decorate quite the same. sad for me, but i am sure it's all worth it!!!
