Finding the time

Finding the time to post updates is getting more difficult as the Becklets become more active. We are getting closer and closer to sleeping thru the night. We had a few nights where one or two of them slept until 5am and then last night, Kate slept from about 8pm until 6am! So, we're convinced that it will be a matter of days before they are all sleeping thru the night. Of course, then they will all start teething, but we'll deal with that when we get there. The girls were napping in the same pack-n-play the other day and it was so cute when they woke up. They just looked at each other smiling and talking and trying to get closer to each other. It was so adorable that I had to take some pics of it...
They are eating really well. I have made sweet potatoes and peas for them and they love both. Here are some pics of their first taste of peas...Anna, Kate, Daniel...
The weather was so nice today and the Becklets were going a little stir crazy inside so we took them to the park for the first time. Daniel loved the swing. He giggled the whole time he was swinging.
Kate was a little unsure at first but after a few minutes, she was smiling away. You can't tell in the pictures, but she really did enjoy it.Anna was the reason that we decided to go to the park. She was crying and nothing would make her happy. She didn't quite make it to the swing...
We tried the slide too, but that was not as popular as the swings. Part of the problem could have been my screaming as we slid down. I swear, it was the wildest playground slide I have ever been on!
We took the Becklets to church this morning. We usually try to go with someone else so that there is at least one adult per Becklet. Today, we went by ourselves. The people at our church have been so supportive with our pregnancy and now with the babies here. The couple sitting in front of us offered to help so they held Daniel for awhile. We also met another triplet mother after mass which was nice. (Hi, Melissa! It was great to meet you and Alexander!) The babies did really well and only got fussy at the very end, so we should be able to handle going by ourselves more often.

Have a great holiday tomorrow!

On the move...

Who thinks we need a new blog post? Daniel says, "I do, I do!"

What a beautiful week! The weather has been perfect so we have been able to get outside a lot. We have gone to the Farmers Market twice and walk to see Kevin at work often. The triple stroller has saved my life! It is so nice to get outside and get some fresh air. For awhile there I thought I would never leave our family room - you know, the one with the blue plaid furniture that most of the pictures have as the background? We have been able to go for walks almost everyday. One of the lingering side effects of my triplet pregnancy is bad knees (they swell, I can't bend them, Kevin usually has to help me get up off the floor) so I have to take every few days off to give them a rest. The knees are slowly getting better. I have heard from other Mothers of Multiples that it takes a good year to get your body back to somewhat normal - almost half way there. We have a lot of shade in our backyard in the afternoon so I throw a big blanket on the ground and we just lay on the blanket and wait for Kevin to get home from work.

The Becklets are still fabulous! We have really started to get into solid food. They have been on cereal for several weeks and we have started to introduce different foods. They LOVE bananas and sweet potatoes so far. I am going to try to make their baby food. My first attempt will be today with sweet potatoes. I bought them, I just need to cook them and puree them. I'll let you know how it goes. Here are some pics of their first taste of sweet potatoes - a little unsure at first, but they love them now. (Kate, Daniel, Anna)

No plans for the weekend, except I need to do a little shopping for a care package for my brother, Michael, who is having back surgery on Monday in Boston. I hope I can get the goodies in the box without eating too many of them! We miss you Uncle Michael! Good Luck on Monday! We'll be praying for you!

Finally, a big shout out to my friends at LT. I know you still read the blog and want you to know how much I miss you guys! I'll have to bring the Becklets for another visit soon.

Have a great weekend!

Edited to add...
I can't believe I forgot to post about Anna rolling over!!!! What a terrible Mother! Anna rolled over earlier this week. I had put her on her belly and then went into the other room to change a diaper. I was watching her because she was trying so hard but then I got distracted with the diaper change. When I looked back, she was on her back! Way to go Anna!!!

5 months old

The Becklets turned 5 months old on the 9th (3 months old adjusted). We had our 4 month pedi appointment yesterday so I have some stats to share...

Daniel weighs 14lb 15oz and is 25.5" long. He is in the 23rd percentile for weight. Daniel has already taken on the roll of the protective big brother and loves his sisters. He will not take his eyes off of them and is always reaching out to touch them when they are playing together on the floor. He is having a little trouble staying asleep at night and wakes up a few times - once to eat and a couple of times to be rocked by Mommy or Daddy. I guess this is his alone time with us. He is so happy each morning and smiles the biggest smiles - makes for some great mornings! His days are very busy. He loves being active so he splits his time between the jumparoo, the floor mats, the exersaucer, the swing and the floor. And, very exciting news....this morning, Daniel rolled over from his belly to his back! Well, really from his belly to on top of Kate, but if she hadn't been there, he would have landed on his back. I had just finished saying to Kevin that I thought Kate was going to be the first to roll over because she is trying so hard and sure enough within 30 seconds after me saying that, Daniel rolled over. A little competitive already???

Anna has caught up to Kate and surprisingly they weigh exactly the same at 13lb 4oz which puts them in the 17th percentile. Anna is 24.25" long and Kate is 24.5". The girls love to laugh and their belly laughs are absolutely adorable. They LOVE Daddy - anything about him - when he walks in the room, his voice, dancing with him, falling asleep on his chest. It is amazing to watch them with Kevin and they definitely have him wrapped around their little fingers already. There are times when he can't feed them their bottles because all they want to do is smile at him and laugh - too cute! They still seem to be about 2 weeks behind Daniel developmentally so they are still working strengthening their legs and eating their cereal. I hate to admit this, but, they also love watching TV, especially Good Morning America and anything on Noggin. They are already limited to the amount of time they can watch. They also enjoy the floor mats, the swings, exersaucer and jumparoo, although their attention span is much shorter than Daniel's. They sleep very well at night, only getting up once to eat, but their naps are not so good yet so we have a lot of girl time during the day while Daniel is still napping.

Long overdue update

Time is just flying by. It's hard to believe that it is August already. I have honestly sat down to update this about 5 times since the last post and obviously got distracted. A lot has been going on the past few weeks.

We've had a few get togethers with friends.
We attended my cousin, Nicole's wedding in Philadelphia. The Becklets were finally baptized with a big party at our house after the Christening. (Pictures to be posted later. They are all on everyone else's cameras and no one has sent them to me yet!)
Our niece, Emily has been here for a week helping with the Becklets.
And, I am leaving tomorrow morning for Mechanicsburg for Mary's baby shower on Saturday.

On top of all of this, the babies are still fighting their colds. We took Daniel & Kate to the doctor today because they have awful coughs. Looks like Sinusitus (sp.) which he gave us a prescription for antibiotics, so hopefully they will be feeling better very soon. We will be back at the pediatrician's on Tuesday, but we did get to weigh Daniel & Kate. Daniel weighs 14lb 10oz, which puts him in the 22nd percentile for 5 month olds. Kate weighs 13lb 1oz, which puts her in the 16th percentile for 5 month olds.

The best news is that they no longer need to be on the Enfacare higher calorie formula. We were going thru a can a day and it is only available in the small can. The regular formula is available at Sams Club and we can even use generic if we want. Here are some pics of a 2 week supply of the formula and a days worth of bottles...

And, here are some pics from the last few weeks...

The Becklets in the morning after their first hotel stay...

"Excellent!!!!!!!"....

"Mmmm, yummy!" (Kate)...

"What? I don't know what you want me to do!" (Anna)...

"Mom! Seriously, can you get any closer?"

"Ahhhh!!! I puked a little! What do I do???" (Anna)...

"Well, you see, it's easy, you put your arm here on the side of the bumbo chair and you don't fall over." (Kate)...
