9 months old

I can't figure out why we are so busy! We don't leave the house much and I'm home all day and I can't believe Christmas is in 2 weeks. Luckily, I was pretty organized this year, so I am almost finished shopping and the wrapping is at least started. It's amazing what you can get done when you know you have very limited time to do it. I spent about an hour shopping last weekend and was able to get a lot off of our list and even some stuff not on the list.

We have an appointment with our Pediatrician next week and we can't wait to see where the Becklets are on the charts. They are getting so big. They are already in some 12 month clothes and some 12 month are already too small on Daniel! The tooth count is holding steady at 2 for Anna, 1 for Kathryn and still zero for Daniel. Still not crawling, but boy are we trying...here is Anna showing Daniel what to do...

We had a little incident the other day with the girls....they were playing together on the floor like this....

....the next thing I heard was Kathryn (on the right) crying. I went to see what was going on and Anna was practically on top of her, smiling away, scratching at her forehead, resulting in this....(see the scratches on her forehead?)

Once I picked her up she was fine and the scratches were gone in less than 2 days. Anna was having a great time and laughing the whole time. Of course, I cut Anna's nails that night. They grow so quickly. I feel like we are cutting them every other day.

Kevin was off today so we took the Becklets to see Santa at the mall. There was no one there so we were in and out in about 15 minutes. No one cried. But, no one smiled either. And, if you look closely, you can see why the jeans that Daniel has on will now be passed on to Aiden....the snap popped as soon as he sat on Santa's lap and I didn't notice it until it was too late. (Anna, Daniel, Kathryn) Keri - thanks for the cute shirts!!

We then attempted to take some pictures in front of the Christmas tree. Here are a few of the 200+ photos that we took...Anna, Daniel, Kathryn...

A busy Thanksgiving weekend...

The Becklets had a great first Thanksgiving. It was very busy, but we had a lot of fun.

I grew up down the street from my friend Karen and in all of our long talks we never discussed the possibility that we both might one day have multiples. She was the first person I called when I found out that we were having triplets because she has quadruplets. It was great to have the support from someone who knew what I was going through. We were finally able to get together and got some great pictures of the quads (now 9 years old) with the trips (almost 9 months old). It was so cute when we first walked in. One of the quads said "there's only 3 of them!" Here are some of the pics from our visit....

Thanksgiving dinner was at Aunt Susan and Uncle Scott's house. They did a really nice job and the food was delish!

And, a big thank you to Uncle Michael for the Christmas photo shoot. It was exhausting, but we got some great pictures...

Bring on the teeth!

Anna, Daniel, Kathryn

The Becklets survived another cold and are finally sleeping thru the night again. The girls get up sometimes but have been able to get themselves back to sleep within 20 minutes. The teething is here, in full force.

The current tooth count is:
Anna - leading the pack with 2 bottom teeth.
Kathryn - 1 bottom tooth, working on the second.
Daniel - drooling like crazy, but no teeth yet.
They are getting really good at sitting and are still working really hard at crawling. Anna can scoot backwards but doesn't quite know how to control where she is going yet. Daniel gets up and rocks and will sometimes push himself forward but then drops. Kathryn can get up but can't figure out what to do once she is up yet. We continue to be amazed at the progress they make daily.

We are off to Nanny & Poppy's for Thanksgiving and can't wait to see everyone. It will be the first time the whole Dornisch family is together since Aiden was born in October, and we haven't seen Auntie Margo in ages. We are looking forward to a good time. We will be missing the Beck Thanksgiving Dinner at Uncle Erik & Aunt Tricia's house, so we hope everyone has a great time and we can't wait to see everyone at Christmas!

8 Month Update

Kathryn, Anna and Daniel - 8 months old.

The Becklets are now 8 months old and so much is going on!
Teething (ugh!) - Everyone is working on getting those teeth in, but Anna has the first official tooth. Anna has always been our fighter. She was the smallest of the Becklets at 3 pounds when she was born, but fought her way through the NICU to come home only 1 day later than her brother and sister. She caught up to Kathryn in size by about 3 months old and now, she is the first to have a tooth. Kathryn also has one (the same one as Anna) but you can't really see it yet, but you can feel it when she chomps down on your fingers. I'm trying to get pictures, but have not been successful yet. I will keep trying.

Sitting on their own (yay!) - The girls are pretty good at sitting on their own. Kathryn has mastered it and Anna is really close. Daniel is still working on it, but sitting seems to get in his way of trying to crawl. He works so hard on getting up and then doesn't really know what to do next. It is really fun to watch him working so hard.

Sleeping thru the night (double ugh!) - Kevin and I decided that we were going to start to let them cry it out last week. The girls were still getting up but were not hungry so we decided it was time to work on it. The first night was tough on us, but the girls did fine. They each cried for about 20 minutes and then fell back to sleep. The second night, they cried for less than 10 minutes and fell back to sleep. By the third night, they were sleeping from about 8pm until 5:30am. Woohoo! However......we somehow all got colds...again....so, we are back to getting up at night! The girls seem to be through the worst of their colds so they have slept until 5am the past 2 nights. Daniel seems to be having the worst time. He gets a terrible cough when he gets a cold which wakes him up at least every 2 hours. Last night, he didn't cough which was great, but he was still up crying every 2 hours. He just couldn't get comfortable.

Interaction with each other (so cute!) - We love to watch them interact with each other although we are quickly learning that we are not a part of their "group." We often put them in different jumperoos & exersaucers and put them in a triangle so that they can see each other. One day, I was in the kitchen and they were in the family room giggling and cooing with each other. I got so excited because it was so darn cute and walked in to see if I could join them. Well, the looks that I received from all of them and the silence that followed, clearly let me know that I was not invited to be a part of their fun. We also bought a walker for them to use and whoever is in the walker usually ends up walking right into someone else, grabbing their hands or faces or whatever toy the other is playing with. They will also just sit and look at each other and start to laugh. It is so amazing to watch and I'm sure is just the beginning of the bond that they will share as they grow.

This is what happens when Anna blows raspberries while eating green beans...notice the green beans all over her arms.

Halloween photo shoot

I am completely exhausted after the Becklets first Halloween. We had a full day of visiting friends. We weren't going to dress them up this year because the cute costumes are all so darn expensive and since we weren't going trick or treating, I thought it would be a waste of money. Thanks to the Harden triplets for selling us these adorable duck costumes. I am so glad that we dressed them up. Everyone was exhausted by the time we tried to take pictures of all 3 together, so this is the best we could get (l to r: Anna, Daniel, Kathryn).
