Proud Wife Moment

Josh flew to Las Vegas at the beginning of March to help film some ads for the new Fiat Abarth. Fiat was building upon their relationship with Catrinel Menghia, who was in their Superbowl commercial. (I read that part on the Autoblog article that Josh just showed me.)

In anticipation of our departure, we're moving millions of things into a storage unit tomorrow, so I suppose I'll go finish packing up our kitchen.

Miles of Road: A Summer of Film & Design

Josh and I are going on a grand adventure this summer.

A 19-foot-long Airstream Bambi trailer.

We leave in one week.

Josh will be filming Season 2 of his Depth of Speed automotive short documentary series, and I'll work as an independent graphic designer and lettering artist. We're super excited to see more of our beautiful country from the road, to live with less, to meet people, and to eat lots of tacos.

sympathy card

At work, I had to come up with a sympathy card design. In the end, this one didn't get selected, but it's OK, because I like any chance to do lettering at my current job. Sure, it needs a few tweaks, but I like it!

P.S. I don't mean to be cryptic and not follow up with details from my I'm-quitting-my-job-and-we're-moving post, but I've been working on something for it and don't want to post about it until I'm finished. 

recent designs

I have such a good time creating graphics for Rubi's blog, especially since so many of the posts are inspirations to me. I may be creative in some areas, but I struggle in the hair one (as Rubi knows by the silly hair questions I've ask her—haha). I've only recently started cutting my hair more than once a year and trying to do some creative things with it (now and then, anyway). I've stopped trimming my own bangs (I still need to work on going in to get them trimmed instead of letting them grow too long!) and have stopped straightening my hair frequently. Progress.

news, easter treats, and salt lake city drives

Josh and I have been going on lots of drives around the city lately. There are a couple of reasons for that: (1) I love going for drives (and walks, for that matter) in neighborhoods or down streets I haven't before been, so I pressure Josh to drive me around, and (2) we'll be in Salt Lake City for only 20 more days, so we need to cram in everything we can.

I'm quitting my senior graphic design job—I gave my notice a few days ago—and we have started selling/packing some of our belongings.

I'm quite excited for our upcoming plans. More information to come soon.

meals i eat...

Josh travels from time to time on film jobs, and without fail I revert to staying up on weeknights until 2 or 3 AM and eating really pathetic things as meals. BUT at least I exercise more often and get a lot of design work done! Win some and lose some.

I created this for fun to show my classy eating habits when Josh isn't around. I'm sure I'm not the only one. :)
