Thanksgiving break was blissful. I was/am thankful for a lot of things, obviously. One of those things is that there are only 46 more days until Josh is my husband. Huzzah. That can also be something I'm ungrateful for since it would be so much better if that number didn't have a four in front of it.
Instead of a grateful list, I'll share some things I found out recently:
• LDS missionaries are not allowed to hold babies.
• One has to make an appointment to go through the LDS temple for the first time. What? I can't just show up?
• Kafka's Metamorphosis is about a man who turned into a beetle. I liked it, but poor Gregor.
• Thanksgiving cranberries taste better when eaten simultaneously with turkey.
• Rexburg, ID doesn't plow its roads completely. People have gotten used to driving over a thin layer of snow/ice.
• Most of the cool couches listed on KSL Classifieds are hide-a-beds. Gross.
• Some guys actually do enjoy receiving things like tools and cuff links as gifts. Not what I expected.
• Sometimes I'm a hint-dropper instead of a content communicator.
• Chelyabinsk is my new favorite Russian word.
• Aron Ralston is so admirable.

Snuggie

prom
Guys, I realize that this is a high school Disney chick flick movie, BUT Aimee Teegarden from Friday Night Lights is in it! So I have to see it. That's my excuse, anyway.
For some reason I felt like blogging this to the whole world...? I don't know.

registering
I was looking at a wedding planning list, and one of the things it said was, Register. Sign up at a minimum of three retailers.
Really? Minimum of three?
How about just amazon.com? Okay, done.

happy november 14th
I had absolutely no alternative to leaving church two hours early today. Nursing a fiancé back to health with potato/corn/bacon chowder along with hours of football and Mad Men seemed more important at the moment.
(I still have a testimony.)
Our engagement photo shoot out in yesterday's chilly weather was apparently not the best thing for Josh's cold.
But he was such a great sport, and I'm soooooooo excited to see the photos.

at least it's less than seventy-three

I'm really into these posters by Therese Sennerholt.
I might try to make some things like them.
By the way, sixty-three days seems like such a long time.

i still like flowers though
I'm not having flowers for my wedding. I don't think I need a bouquet. Plus, one less thing to worry about.
I just wanted to let you know.
I just wanted to let you know.
oh, darling emma.

Emma:
The lack of privacy I find difficult, the lack of anonymity. You know, you can’t go to the pharmacy
without someone being like, “Oh, you are the girl from Harry Potter,” and I’m like,
"Yeah…I’m just buying my tampons. See you in a bit!" So, it’s a bit awkward sometimes. ...
It’s a bit surreal. I’m not gonna lie, it’s a bit surreal.
from her interview with BBC here
I'm not the one who made this gif, by the way. I don't know from where it originated.

award for most heinous neighbors
Today my landlord texted my roommates and me:
Hi ladies. The neighbor complained about idling cars in the driveway.
Please don't. Thanks and sorry to be nitpicky.
Uh...I want to die. And I don't remember the last time I idled my car in the driveway.
But thanks, neighbors. Yes, these neighbors. And yet again, these same neighbors.
Thanks for the title of this post, Miss Wiseman.

new slc neighborhoods
(Last week) we found a place to live!! Josh is moving in this week, but my name is already next to his on the mailbox. Haha. I felt like looking up the place on Google Maps street view, and it is all covered by trees. I love that.
Excited, excited, excited.
Did I mention I'm planning on having my entire wedding ready before Christmas?

will i lose my dignity
This group piece for So You Think You Can Dance Canada was choreographed by Mia Michaels about rejection and loss. It's real life!
I love this song from RENT.
this is so cute

I love witnessing tender moments between random people, and wish I could have seen this one in real life.
I love that the White House has a Flickr stream.

pink peach cakes
Sometimes I'm not even sure what the point of a wedding cake is,
but these ones by Pink Peach Cakes are really awesome.
I promise I'm not going to turn this into a wedding planning blog.
For some reason these cakes just seemed important.

love story videos
My friend, Julie, and her husband, Matt, are muy talented and creative individuals (just look at their Halloween, for instance). Matt, with Julie's assistance, of course, has started creating these crafty little sometimes-stop-motion courtship love story videos (I don't know where the commas go with all those adjectives) for fun, nostalgia, birthdays, anniversaries, or weddings. I WANT ONE, and luckily for me, Julie said I could have one.
This love story video is Julie and Matt's love story. (My favorite parts are the dancing and the fireworks.)
This video is for Julie's sister, Maren, and Maren's husband, Dirk. (They met working at Anthropologie.)
If you or someone you know happen to want one a love story video of your own let her/me know!
