Walk like a man, talk like a man...
I have the best husband.

Really. He is patient and considerate, and yesterday he deep-cleaned the entire apartment on his own. It's a huge relief for me to have it done, even though I contributed exactly nothing to the effort. (I have this head-cold thing...most unpleasant. I'll spare you the details.)

Anyway.

The big thing in our lives is that we're having a baby boy in November. If you haven't heard that yet, you're not alone, although you probably don't talk to my mother on a regular basis. It's not something I've been talking about too much, mostly because I'm sick all the time and haven't done much of anything with anyone. Including talking. Especially lately, because my throat is sore something awful and I am all kinds of hoarse.

We are excited, but my enthusiasm is dampened a bit by the constant nausea. The good news is I've finally started gaining weight in the past month or so. I'm still down from my starting weight (lost about 15 pounds at the beginning, have gained about 5 or 6 back...), but it doesn't look that way because of how the fat has distributed itself to my face and upper arms and such. My bump is still relatively small, but I keep hoping that it looks pregnant now instead of just weirdly bloated. (I feel pregnant, especially when baby is kicking me in the gut every night when I'm trying to go to sleep.)

However, I have realized that I have mixed feelings about putting my baby on the internet. That's why Facebook is still giving me ads for weight-loss techniques and fad diets and breast implants (at least I hope those aren't targeted ads for pregnancy). That's also why I'm not going to post an ultrasound picture (he looks like a baby....okay?) on this blog. Actually, that's why Cleave and I have created a new family blog that we will post on together. It's open to invited readers only, so if you would like to be on that list, just let us know. We tried to invite family members for whom we have Gmail accounts, but if you aren't family and want in or we didn't have the right account for you (Elise?), we'll let you in. Cleave's working on the first post now and I'll be looking at the layout later this week.
