Christmas Dinner @ Sake Room

I have this cosy and comfortable feelings everytime i hop in to Sake Room. The song is driven by by 2 sets of Acoustic Energy speaker which produce crisp music and bass. Dim light and great songs create a relaxing environment. It's nice for meals, and also night time outings.
I hope i got the chance to have some beer and chit chat with my friends there in the near future. It would be greatful if someone like Sheon could go with me to have some chat in such a wonderful place..
I went there last weekend for my Christmas Dinner.
They serve the dinner in a package of:
1. Salad
2. Soup
3. Cold Appetizer
4. Main Course(Turkey)
5. Dessert
(with either red/white wine)

The food is delicious i must say. The soup is prepared by the REAL chicken(or is it turkey?) but not those concentrated chicken stock. It's tasty...
Cold appetizer served with vege and tuna. You must try this one!! The tuna is well grilled at the outside, and raw in the inside, but, it's yummy!! Slurp...
Main course, try it yourself to believe!!

Conclusion: Please check out this restaurant! You won't regret.. The service is great, the environment is great, the food is great...!!

Oh ya.. before i forget, you can get a "special" door gift if you check out the restaurant during the Christmas season.. I did "hint" you... So, why wait?? Go...!!

Do we need the iPhone so desperately?

This blog is mainly my very own opinion.. You can post up your own opinion if you wanted..

Got this link when i'm checking my gmail.
Click on the link below for the news..

Does Japan need the iPhone?

My first impression to iPhone is, "Wow!! Great phone huh?!!"
I've no intend to buy this phone even i feel that it's great. I will stick to my N73 and wait for Nokia to come out with a phone that is better than N82.
The article gave me the feeling that we are so dumb to dump so much money into a phone that is much lower tech than those Japanese phone. We are like paying the extra for lesser features..

I think i would think twice next time when i want to get a new phone..

Vietnam-China Trip, Part 1

Part 1 is actually the story of Vietnam and also the first place we visited in China. The sky is beautiful. I'm not sure how high the plane goes so that we can see such beautiful clouds and sky. This is one of the disadvantage of taking budget flight like AirAsia. Anyway, I'm kinda happy that our journey started with a very nice and good weather.
The first thing that caught my eye was this! The cow is still alive!! They tied the legs and sell it to the city to get their earnings by bike... omg.... BIKE with a cow...!! Imagine how good is the rider on getting the bike balance with such a heavy herbivore. The tongue of the cow always hit the wheel of the bike while trying the lick the lips.. Yucks... That irritates me..!!
The girl resting on the steering wheel after tired playing with her mini car at the walk way beside the road. Cute isn't she?The border of Vietnam and China. Lao Cai is the name of the border of Vietnam, while He Kou is the name of the border of China. Here we come, China!
The view of He Kou city once we step out of the custom.
The first noodles we tasted after coming out from the China Custom. This is the best award before taking our exhausted and suffering long journey bus to Kun Ming that took us 10 hours. It was a mini bus without aircond, sit with those local that will spit on the bus or direct to the outside of the bus while the bus is traveling.
The toilet at non-tourist spot. The bus stop half way for us to go for our loo n poo. If you went to China before, then you will know that actually most of the places are "non-tourist" spot even there are a lot of tourist loitering around.

Ok, here stops the Part 1. Look for the part 2 that describe better places.

SAKE ROOM @ Bandar Sunway, Seberang Jaya, Butterworth

The subject of my blog this time has no connection neither to my Vietnam nor China trip but to the food I took this afternoon instead. GOSH!! Is incredibly GOOD!!
the map

First of all, I would like to thank my friend, Bernard, for introducing me to this very tantalizing, mouth-watering Japanese fusion cuisine at "Sake Room"! I supposed "Sake Room" is the first to have Japanese fusion cuisine in northern region in Malaysia!
This afternoon, I treated myself with 2 sets of lunch from the menu, Salmon Teriyaki Set and Chicken Teriyaki Set. The food preparation was very promising in terms of its hotness, arrangements and specially its taste. The salmon fillet was mild fried, pouring on top with smooth, watery teriyaki sauce and powdered with the combination of black and white sesame.
As for the chicken, the pieces were deep fried so perfectly that the chicken was crunchy on the outside and spongy in the inside. The chicken pieces as well mixed with the watery teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. The sets come along with small serving of vegetables, pieces of sliced orange and pineapple with an amount of freshly cooked sticky rice. I'm not sure if it's me or it is also happened to anyone else, I feel that the taste about the salmon, the chicken the veggies and rice is so much different from the typical Japanese cuisine that I have tasted. It's much more... errrrr .... tasty?? At least it tastes good for me...it is special!!Besides the two delicious lunch sets I had, I also indulged myself with chilly "Release Rolls". I said chilly cause it was served cold. Guess what? This "Release Rolls" was totally new to my taste buds. From my own observation on the rolls, the rice was actually rolled with "Unagi" and cheese cream with slices of avocado and strawberry on top of the roll and powdered with lots and lots of peanut. Isn't it special!!
I am pleased with the overall presentation that I obtained from "Sake Room". I am glad that I was served by the warmth and friendly crews, nice and cozy ambience, and most of all, the unforgettable pleasant cuisine. I am glad for the experience and I am sure I will return to hunt for more!!
Sorry for the bad picture, the photos is taken using my lousy 2mp camera phone.

Finally Home

Just got home from my backpack trip to Vietnam and China. I am quite busy with my work after coming back from the trip. Try to imagine, just got back at 11am today and continue with my work in the afternoon until 11.30pm... sigh.....
It is a very exciting, interesting and tiring trip from Hanoi to Lao Cai, Lao Cai to He Kou, and then Li Jiang to Shangri La and Da Li and then back to Hanoi and fly back to Malaysia. A total of 15 days trip. I will try to post up something about the blog later.
Bye and take care~

Hatsuhana @ Park Avenue

Me and my family went to this Japanese food located in a Hotel named, Park Avenue in Sungai Petani. I do not know what makes me feel like I'm home when I step in the restaurant. Soft and relaxing music with warm lighting, friendly services with smiley face.
Paper pot soup

This is like a mini pot of soup. I forgot about the name already. The "pot" is actually made by paper. There is a steel web "bowl" below the paper pot. The paper turn into black after 30 minutes of burning under the fire. It's not only water proof, but also fire proof! From what i heard of, the paper itself is imported from Japan..

Kapamaki, my niece's favourite food. Sushi King lose hands down even with this simple sushi wrap with cucumber. This is fresh. The cucumber is crunchy and juicy.

Terriyaki Salmon Steak. Grilled with terriyaki sauce. Superb... Yummy~~

Fish Grilled Mackerel, parent's favourite!! Fishiness and it is great with the mixture of lemon juice.

Beef Set

The garlic is crunchy, the beef is soft and nice, the carrot is well-grilled and the food is served in perfect temperature.

Cheap or Expensive? Economy Rice

Someone in my shop promoting one of the homemade economy rice and keep asking us to buy it as our lunch. A pack of rice consist of 3 dishes cost us approximately RM 3.50. After I did some simple calculation, I found it ok. I can get 26 days of lunch with only RM 91. But still, I think(IMO) I can, and I should save more money for other expenses. So I told the one who promoting this lunch that I only need 2 dishes for the rice. She replied me in a very haughty way that she cannot provide me such service. So, I ask her if I can get a RM 3 economy rice from her. Of course, the answer is NO. She even said "Ai Lai, Mai Suak." Meaning, have it or leave it...
I can't stand such attitude because I'm pretty sure I can get something similar with lower price.
After few days of hunting for delicious and cheap economy rice, I found out one old stall, that I used to eat while I'm still a kid. I walked in and realize that they did not change the style of their business. They serve curry chicken, curry fish, soya bean saucing pork, fried egg, stew duck, vegetables and some typical dishes. One thing that caught my attention is that they do have order-and-cook service. Just like a home-cook restaurant.
Look at the rice economy rice below and guess how much is it?

It's just merely RM 1.80!

It is approximately RM 2.60 if I get 2 pcs of chicken + vegetable + potato.
With such price, I only spend around RM 2.20 per lunch and after doing some simple calculation, my expenses drop to RM 57.20. A significant RM 33.80 per month of savings!
Yea, I know most of you will say it's not a big deal, but you know what? I can save RM 405.60 per year... hahahahaha.....
Anyway, blogging for fun right? Take it easy~
hehehhe... :)

细九 @ Sungai Petani

How to pronounce 细九?? We pronounce it as "Sai Kao" but Penangites came here and pronounce it as "Seh Kau"(Which is weird). Sai Kao is Cantonese while Seh Kau is Hokkien. The boss of this restaurant is a Cantonese, so we, Sungai Petani-an call him Sai Kao to respect him as a Cantonese.
This Sai Kao is super famous in Sungai Petani. All chinese should know the name of Sai Kao. So if you want to try it out, just come to Sungai Petani and ask local guy where Sai Kao located and they will guide you.
This restaurant is not those classy type. They only provide homemade style of dishes. Look at the pictures below. It just a normal Sambal Prawn and Squid, Fu Yong Egg, Mixed Vegetables fried with Garlic and Roasted Pork and Char Siew.

According to my buddy, The Great Super Mighty Sheonnie, they are all delicious. The roasted pork is good while the char siew tasted like bak kua...

Moon Cake from Bidor

My friend and I stop by Bidor for cookies when we were on our way back to Penang. We saw these cute little moon cake selling in one of the famous cookies house. They produce a lot of animal-shape moon cake with several flavor this year including tao-sa, red bean , lian yong and more. The taste is ok, not too sweet but a little bit too dry.

Char Siew @ Shah Alam

I went to a exhibition in KLCC last week and my friend brought me to his HQ at Shah Alam and we have our lunch there. I don't know the name of the shop, but this char siew is damn good. This char siew is introduced by Ho Ciak(a tv program) before. According to my friend the name of the char siew is, glass char siew, 玻璃叉烧 in chinese..
Look at the picture and you will see the outer layer is covered by the sauce and finely baked. The upper layer of the char siew is actually a layer of skin following with oily fat, then only the meat. The skin layer can slide around as the oily fat is still fresh. The char siew is super nice when you put into your mouth. The sauce and the juicy fat mixed together resulting a sky high orgasm.

Thai Food @ Butterworth

Khun Tai is the name for this restaurant. The restaurant is fully furnished with bamboo tables and chairs. Even the wall and roof is also made by bamboo and atap leaves.
The restaurant is cosy and ventilated. The food is great with reasonable price. Go try out if you are somewhere nearby Raja Uda.

Char Siew @ Aik Hwa, Sungai Petani

Recently chi jor sin... very miss char siew after came back from Melaka...

Maa Roy @ Abu Siti Lane, Penang

My best friend was back Singapore for his holiday and I brought him to this thai restaurant for our lunch.

We ordered pork knuckles, lemon steam fish, and a thai style egg.

I think they had marinate the knuckles before deep fried it. The pork has the taste in every single bite. Crispy at the skin, fresh meat in the inside... yummy~

As for the fish, I don't know how to describe. It is not normal type of thai style steam fish. They have lemon on it, and the soup is great! Lemon flavor with spicy soup but a little bit of sweetness. The soup is very nice to taste but, don't ever "drink" it.. Your throat will get burnt if you drink it in a fast way.

Hmm... nothing much to comment on the egg. It's normal..

Char Kuey Teow @ Bukit Mertajam

Thanks to sheon for bringing me to this tasty char kuey teow in BM. It's totally different from Penang's Char Kuey Teow. I don't know how to explain the difference. The only thing i know is, this stall put a lot of pork oil... kakkakakaka... super delicious.... AWESOME!!!
The stall is at the roadside and they locate the seats at the corridor of the shop lot. They skipped one of the shop at the center an we were wondering why they skip that shop and continue locating the seats after that shop. We search around and finally we saw this....

We actually don't care much about these bats. Our main purpose is to eat delicious char kuey teow, and we got it... Furthermore, I'm happy with it as I've been searching for this type of traditional char kuey teow for years. I will surely go again if i pass by BM.

Lou Po Peng from Hong Kong

Lou Po Peng from Hong Kong. Not too dry, not too wet, smells very good. A lot better than what I've in Malaysia. It's just nice... not too sweet... very nice to eat.. hmmphhh... yummy~
Look at the content, white and nice... This tastes really great!!

Duck Rice with Char Siew

Surprisingly!! I were about to go home after I collect the goods from bus station after my work. But then, the duck rice images suddenly appear in my mind. So I went to the stall where I always had my dinner when I had my company check stock period years ago.. I saw a few of nice char siew which reminds me of the Melaka char siew.
I straightaway ask the boss to add in char siew for my duck rice.. hahahahhaa.... You know what? When I ask permission to take photos, he is so excited, wondering which publisher I came from... hahahaha... anyway, he is a very nice guy. He always gives extra for his regular customers... hehe.... shhh.... don't tell him that I told you this.... :P
Look at the rice that I ordered. The duck is already famous, but I didn't know that the char siew is good as well.. The taste is not as good as Melaka char siew, but the feel is there. The feel when you have your first bite till the end.... The taste is not as deep as Melaka char siew. The juice is not enough... But still, it is good... Good to have such char siew in my hometown.. At least I can have the char siew that is almost 70% similiar to the Melaka char siew..

My New Notebook

I got my new notebook from my friend who came back for Alex's house warming. I'm very very very happy that they can come back to Penang for the gathering all the way from KL, Ipoh and Taiping.

We have a very great day and memories on this weekend. We are like, already gone back to 7 years ago.. when we were all in KDU for our studies... hahaha...
We talk cock, crapping around, taking nasi kandar for our supper, chit chatting to kill our time, going to shopping malls to kill our time, dinner together, drink beer together, and bought supper back home and sapu all together...

hahaha... We had a great time together like what we had when we were still a student.. They remind me a lot of young memories... Pushing the old folks car from the place they park to another place, slamming my friend's pxnxs when we watch porn together, nasi lemak flying out from no where and nearly hit my friend's face, went snooker together, my friend's metal head kungfu, transform a double decker bed in hostel to be 3 deckers bed, jumping from 1 double decker bed to another, the bed suddenly break and hit the one who sleep below when we were sleeping, jamming the music early in the morning to make everyone in the room awake..... bla bla bla... the list go on...Opps, I haven't get into the main topic of this post after so much crap.. haha...
My new notebook is BenQ Joybook S41. I don't know much about the reputution or the service in Malaysia. The only thing i know is that, the price fit in my budget, and it's the best notebook i can find within my budget. Actually, there is another brand i'm aiming for, the NEC E6310, but too bad, I can't wait for it to be launch, and the price is still unknown.
This BenQ S41 comes with a Intel C2D T7100 processor, 2GB Ram, 120GB Hdd and 8600GS dedicated graphic card. This spec is good enough for me. I can do my work and play games with this laptop. Which means, I can hug it when i'm at work and when i'm on my bed... LOL
