Sakae Sushi @ The Curve

I used to like this restaurant before. It is the place where me and my gf met the 1st friend of my gf after we pak tor.. The food is delicious previously, they approach their customers with a good service, they serve hot food with acceptable speed. But this time on October, the waiter and waitress are not zeal enough. We ordered our dinner and beverage with the terminal in front of us as usual, chit chat as usual before the drinks and food are served.

I forgot the name for the food we ordered. But I do remember that I ordered a set of meal with 5 small plates of different dishes with a bowl of fried rice. The meal comes 1 plate by 1 plate and guess what??? Every plate of them is already cold when it's served. And, they stop serving me after 3 small plates on my table, as if the set is already completed. I called the waiter and told him. And guess what??? (ya... again....) They continue to serve the dishes 10 minutes after after i lodge the complain. And yet!!!! The food is COLD!!! %^*$(&%*^&^@

I won't persuade my reader to boycott this restaurant. To be frank, the food is still nice to eat, just that, the service is bad. You can choose to go or not to go. I will still going after some time, to see if they improve the quality of the restaurant.. :)

Kajang Satay

I were so so so boring sitting at Starbucks, doing nothing. I don't really know where can I go in KL. I don't really dare to go anywhere by my own too. I still remember the first time I drove down to KL alone. I spent 4 hours to reach Star Hill from KL toll. Terrible isn't it? hehe...
After spending 3 hours in Starbucks, i decided to call up Mr Sheon to have lunch. Mr Sheon brought me to this Kajang Satay located at the resthouse. I don't really know where is the actual location, but I think, we do pass by kesas highway.

They have many types of satay. Chicken, beef, beef tripe, chicken liver, fish, mutton, venison and rabbit. They have nasi impit and ketupat too. We ordered 10 + 10 chicken and beef satay and relaxing taking our lunch, chit-chatting, and of course, doing what guys would do all the time... looking at the chicks... kekekekee....

Look at the sauces and ketupat. There are 2 types of sauces. We mix both of it to enhance the taste of the sauce. The ketupat is big in size and nice to eat at. Firm but not hard, not too wet nor too dry. The smell of the pandan leaves already sip into the ketupat and it extract the smell of rice and pandan which makes the ketupat taste even better.
The satay is juicy, taste good with and without the sauces. The cucumber is fresh, and everything is just prefect to me... I like the kajang satay and million thanks to Mr Sheon for bringing me to such a good place to eat.. :)

Nasi Briyani @ Uniten

First of all, I would like to thank my friend, which is my buddy's buddy too. hehe... He is the gou tai wai mang + very helpful + very nice + good looking + kind + polite guy, Mr. Sheon. Without him, I have no chance to blog about this slurping great superb nice super delicious addited nasi briyani... :P hehehhe....
I've waited so long to have this nasi briyani again. I'm so excited when Sheon said he is available and willing to bring me there for the second time. They have variety of nasi briyani there. My fault of not taking more photos for the hut and the menu hanging on the wall. From what I know, they have lamb, beef, chicken and horse. Yes, it's HORSE!! Too bad they are not available at that day. Else I would give it a try and post it up... hehe...

Look at the picture! The portion is huge. It's like 2 bowl of rice putting in a big plate, with 2 pieces of beef!! You can see only 1 piece of beef in this picture as these 2 pictures is the plate of half-eaten rice.. sorry... I can't control myself and forgotten to take photo... :P

Got la... Here is the un-touched virgin-looking rice.(err.. eaten 2 spoon of rice tough) :P
kekkekeke..... sorry la... too hungry.... >.<
They have a small bowl of curry so that we can eat together with the rice, not so dry ma...
The beef is soft and the sauce is superb. A friend of mine ordered lamb and I tell you... The lamb is a Must-Try item... Go for it and you will addicted to it.
Head down to Uniten when you have your holiday at KL. It's far, but it is worth it man....!!

Bak Kut Teh @ Imbi

I took BKT again the next morning in KL. This is Ah Hei Bak Kut Teh at Imbi. I personally like this more than the Klang one. Maybe I took the Klang BKT before and this BKT is a brand new try. We did not special order this time. The combination of the meat, chinese herbs and vegetables create a fabulous great mouth-watering soup. The meat is not so stiff, it's nice to chew at. The vegetable is fresh.

The Bak Kut Teh comes with Tau Fu Pok and Yau Char Kuai. They provide a small bowl of BKT soup as well. This bowl of soup is the original herbs soup that haven't cook with any meat. The taste of this soup is different with the one in the claypot.

The price is a cheaper than the Klang BKT. The location is strategic as well.

Tian Tian Lai @ Sunway

I went to this shop for 2 days in a row. These are the picture I took at the first day. I managed to meet up with my friend who is currently in China. He let us stay at his place when he is not around. We are so lucky to meet him in KL. He came back for few days before going back to China and we managed to meet him.

Who is he?? He is my best buddy, YC. We took our dinner with Douglas and his gf. I'm so darn sorry to them as I speak very less in front of them. I were so so so so so so fu*king dizzy at that day. I can't even stand properly or walk properly. Feel like floating while I'm walking. The picture at the right shows Fried Sotong with Butter. (sotong = squid) This is delicious, but it will make you thirsty.

This is Pak Sou Kong steam fish. Fresh fish with very good steam skill. The fish is well cook, not overcook nor half-cooked. Just nice with superb mixture of soya sauce and other sauces.

The Pork Rib taste great. The meat is soft and juicy.

This shop is actually located at somewhere like a little food court. There are some stalls selling fruits and drinks. What I can say is, I'm shock with the taste. It's amazing. I can't imagine that a place like that can provide me such a delicious food. And now, this shop let me believe that, KL is a place where we can call it "crouching tiger, hidden dragon"..... I can get such a wonderful food in such place. The place is not high class, but the food is delightful!!

Klang Bak Kut Teh

I went to KL last week. I call up a friend of mine. She is a great friend to have. A very helpful friend. She drop off her job and be with me for the whole day. We nearly went to Melaka because I said I'm bored and don't know where to go in KL. She brought me to this Bak Kut Teh at Klang and we headed down to Melaka after we finished our breakfast there.
Too bad something happened to my health. My health = shit... I feel serious dizziness and forced to stop by 2 rest house when we are on our way to Melaka. I can't stand the dizziness and trip has been cancelled.. :(

This is the picture we took after the Bak Kut Teh. You can see my sick face at the picture above. Ok now.... This is the BKT I'm going to introduce to you all. The name of this BKT at Klang is Teluk Pulai Bak Kut Teh.

We ordered "small knuckle" with some other normal pork. The meat is a bit stiff but the taste is there. I think the meat is still stiff because we are there around 10am. The meat will be perfect if we reach there around 1pm. The soup is definitely nice to drink at. And guess what?? The bak kut teh is served with plate, spoon and fork. There is no bowl and chopsticks. The feeling is not as good as what we have here because I like to drink a lot of soup with the chinese spoon(which is deep enough to get more soup)....
And lastly, I feel that the price for the BKT is a bit at high side. It is around 2-3 times more expensive to what we can get in northern region. (This is the first time I complain about the food I pay for. Maybe I'm not as rich as previous already... lol)

Dedicated to YC

Dear YC,
I saw this menu on a wedding dinner. When I saw this menu, I think of you...
Buddy... Good luck in your work in China and do eat more... Snap photos for me on nice food and sceneries... :)
Take care dude...

Mini

I drove this little cutie mini to Penang last week. It's an old car, but the handling and performance is better than other K car. When I first see this car in my friend's garage, I thought it's only a classic low-power, just-to-show-off car. But I'm wrong... super wrong.. This car has a 1300cc heart and it is much more faster than kancil, kenari, kelisa, myvi..... and lots more....
The main purpose for me to borrow this little mini from my friend is to surprise my gf.. She likes mini and she told me once... she wish she can have a ride on this classic car.
I plan to drive this car to round Penang island with my gf but we end up going no where.. :(
Sorry to my gf... I didn't bring you round the island. But we do cruising around from Butterworth to BM and then to Penang and round half of the island... hehe... I like the way you smile!!
Thanks to my friend who borrow me this mini and thanks to the mini itself, to bring happiness to my gf..

p/s oh... dont say that this blog is not about food, we drove this mini to have the mee goreng i posted in the last post, and drove this mini to every meal we took in 3 days. hehe..

Mee Goreng @ BM

I went to Butterworth and have lunch with my friend and he brought me to Bukit Mertajam for this Mee Goreng. I was quite surprise when my friend told me that this mee goreng cook by malay has crab inside the soup. I thought malay does not eat crab??

They cook the soup with crab, and the taste of the soup has a strong crab smell. I ordered Mee Rebus, Mee Goreng and Pasembur. I like mee goreng most. The crab taste and the mee goreng recipe is great!

I don't know much about BM's route, so I cannot give you the exact street name. It's somewhere near to a school call "3 star"(dunno what star actually) hehe.. Somewhere near to the triangle divider at the center of the road. The triangle is newly built to make the route to become 1-way street.

Char Kuey Teow

I do not know how to describe where this coffee shop located. It is at Jalan Dato Kramat, opposite Clark Hatch. I do not really know what is the coffee shop name. I went there with friends, before they went back to KL. YC told me they are going to this shop for char kuey teow and ask me to meet him there.
I stay at Merican Road before, when I was still in college. At that time, I went to this coffee shop for Chicken Rice or Economy Rice. The char kuey teow is not there yet. Hmmmphh... It is already 3-4 years back.... old liao lor..... :|
The chicken rice is not there anymore when I go there this year. I'm wondering where is the old lovely couple go.... They used to give me extra rice, chicken or roasted pork when I buy from them. Sigh.... now, they are gone. I heard from my friend that they moved to other town and stay with their children... Don't really know it's true or not.
Ok, here is the Char Kuey Teow... If you request for Char Kuey Teow Special, then you will get 4 huge prawns and some straw prawn. This CKT is worth trying... Mouth-watering guaranteed... :>

Pancake and Hae Chien @ Super Tanker

I took my computer back to my hometown already and once I can online, I straightaway started to blog. hehe...
I went to this food court with my friends last month, during my gf's birthday. I took the herbal noodles. The taste is ok. Too bad I didn't take photo for the noodles.

We ordered this Aki Pancake and guess what? We finished 10 pieces of different tastes. This pancake is worth to try. Most of the Penang kia already know this famous pancake stall, but still, I have to repeat this.... DeeeeeLicious......!!!

And then, we saw this Hae Chien. The smell of the egg is irressistable.. The prawn is not big, it's about 20 cents and 50 cents sizes, and it's fresh!! Sweet and crunchy....

Nothing special about these 2 guys, just feel of posting up their cute faces... hehe... They are my buddy!! Cute charming guys... hehe...

Hong Kei's Egg Tart@Ipoh

My mum went to Ipoh for a wedding ceremony today and came back with salted chicken and egg tart. I do not know what was it when I first saw it. It is in a box and it looks like this.

The egg tart is huge! The height is around 40-45mm. Imagine and see how thick is it... hehe...
Look at the skin. It is thin and crispy, smells great and taste good. The inner part of it smells great too. The taste is just nice. Not too sweet, not too plain. Firm but not hard, soft but not wobble.

This is the greatest egg tart I've ever ate. The outer skin is super thin and the inner part is super thick. And this is only available in Ipoh, the food heaven!

Shinjutei Japanese Restaurant

I went there with my friends to celebrate CH and my girlfriend's birthday. Angel and her hubby bought a present for my girlfriend. My girlfriend was so happy. Angel toh si angel. She is very good in cheering up people. One small present already made my girlfriend to happy sky high.
I heard about this restaurant from my another friend and we decided to have a try. I've ordered the Niku Teriyaki set and my girlfriend ordered Chicken Katsu Don set. The portion is larger than the other restaurant and the price is almost the same with the others too. I have to say, the food in this restaurant is value to money. Large and affordable, the the most importantly, it is DELICIOUS!!

The beef is sliced into thin pieces and cook with teriyaki sauce. It is cook nicely, which means, not over-cook or under-cook, thin beef ensure all the sauce gets inside it so that the beef is a little bit spongy and juicy. The onion extract the taste of beef and sauce. Awww.... I'm hungry already~~
The miso soup is so so only. I only have 1 piece of seaweed in my soup and a lot of small square tofu in it. Small means 5mm x 5mm. I prefer the miso soup in Sushi King, or even better, Hirishima. Chawan Mushi does not have gingko in it. But it is soft and nice. The smell of egg is nice.

Curry Mee@Raja Uda

The picture looks ugly, but it is no doubt a delicious food. This is the famous Curry Mee in Raja Uda, Butterworth. It is located in front of a temple which is near to the junction between Permatang Pauh and Raja Uda. They opens around 7pm+, and you will see a lot of people queing for the famous curry mee at 7pm.

What is so special about this Curry Mee stall? They got various stuff for you to add on. Minced pork, curry chicken, squid, fried chicken, prawn mantis, fish ball, meat ball, chicken leg, soya sauce pork, curry wild boar meat and more.We ordered 2 curry mee and 1 kuey teow th'ng. I took 1 curry mee and 1 kuey teow th'ng and my girlfriend took 1 curry mee.

We ordered another bowl of add on stuff. The wild boar meat, the curry squid and also the chicken inner organ is super nice!!
The kuey teow th'ng is normal, but the mince pork is nice. The curry mee is excellent once you add in the extra stuff.

KLG

What the heck is this?? A Post Office with table and tomato sauces? Nah.... This is the KLG. I'm not sure whether they got it in Penang, but it is a lot if Ipoh and now, they open one, in Butterworth. This KLG is actually something similiar to KFC. The first time I get in, I found that the price is much lower than KFC. But then, when I slowly surf around their menu. I found that the price is actually not much different with KFC. They got variety of food related to fried chicken, such as Chicken Chop, Burger, Nuggets and so on. The fried chicken is good. Crispy at the outside and yummy in the inside.

Here is another view of KLG.

The Coffee Shop

I went to this coffee shop to have my lunch yesterday. The environment is nice. The renovation is simple and nice. There are pictures hanging on the wall, nice wood furniture and also a special lamp that "trap" in a bird cage. The shop does not have much choice of food, but I'm sure you can find something you like here. :)

Cheapest Chicken Rice in Town

I used to take this Chicken Rice very often 6 years ago, when I'm still a college student. This stall is located at Anson Road, opposite City Pub. There is only 1 man to run this business. From my memories, he never hire anyone to help him. He can does his job very well and very fast. I look at my watch just now after I ordered my chicken rice. He handle the chicken rice to me within 10 seconds. This is shocking man. He is still the fastest man in town!! And tell you what, you will get the second shock when he tells u the price.

The Chicken Rice is actually not bad. The rice is more than average, the chicken is normal, the sauce and chilli sauce is normal too. But due to the price, a lot of people like to flock the place. He usually start around 11am and ends at 2pm. I used to order half chicken and finish it with another friend and guess what? It is less than 10 bucks!! Awww.... I miss this stall a lot.. It makes me think of my college life.. What a wonderful moment~~

Unknown Kuih

I went to my relative's bachelor party and saw this kuih. It is the one with banana leaves. The kuih is made by santan and nangka. Very nice to eat if you like sweet dessert.. :)
The ang ku kuih is yellow in color. It looks cute because the size is only 35mm but it is too compact inside until it is hard to chew.

The chai kuih is small size and nice to eat. Turnip + tiny-dried-prawn. Mouth-watering snack... Yummy~

Anyone know what is the name of the kuih?
