Hi!

I am guesting on the Altenew blog today...I made 3 cards and honestly I am not sure how I ended up with the designs I did...you will have to see them for yourself HERE.

I will show you one just for fun...




I bought these rose dies from MFT and I had to break them out. Of course for dramatic effect, I used some papers and embellishments from October Afternoon given to me as a gift from my friend Jocelyn Olsen.  She has great taste :)  I used the sentiment from Super Scripts 2 and I love its bold font!

I hope you all are doing well...we are settling in here in Ohio. It's kind of insane with 2 new jobs both of which require travel, living with parents while our home is being built (a challenging process) and struggling to find a routine amidst all the madness. I am going to leave you with an initial draft of the home we are building. It is based on the HGTV dream home 2012, but you know, cheaper and smaller ;)











It's not quite right yet, but I think its fun to share drawing. I always wanted to write like an architect. If you want to give it a try...check out this video.

Crate Paper Layout Using Simple Layered Tags

You know what I love about the embellishments from Crate Paper? Besides the obvious fact that they are lovely, they make it easy to create a page without having to work too hard. Today I was inspired by Christine Middlecamp, our CP design team coordinator, who has this wonderful way of adding and layering and adding and layering to the point where her layouts have SO much to see and enjoy. I could spend hours looking at her layouts. I think they belong in a museum gallery.

To add a homemade touch to the page, I made some layered tags using the Oh Darling Collection. Check out the blog HERE for details and a tutorial on this Christine inspired layered explosion :)

Altenew Blog Hop

Welcome to Altenew's second Blog Hop! Altenew is a relatively new stamp company that opened it's doors last April. In a couple of days they will be releasing their second collection of stamps. All the stamps that you will see here will be available for purchase at 9:00 am EST on Monday July 14th.

 I was asked to participate this time around and am so excited to see some well needed Islamic stamps designed this release. Here is what I made:

I paired the sentiment from Super Script 2 and the flowers from Persian motifs to make this fun simple flat card.  It makes a beautiful background against the bold font. 

For my next card I created an ombre background with watercolors and then stamped the flowers from Persian motifs on top. Pretty easy! I was inspired by a card I saw Julie Ebersole make! The sentiment is from Eid Greetings. Oh my gosh am I so excited to see this set! It is long overdue and so needed!!
