A third common archetype of negotiation process focuses on alternatives - whose are better, and who can worsen the other's (threats). "Our walkaway is better than yours, and furthermore, we will make yours worse by..." This is commonly called the game of chicken - "Give in to my demands, or I will kill us both. There will be more mourners at my funeral than at yours and more flowers on my grave."
