I Love You Day

As you all know, my husband works with Jewelry, That means I don't get to spend Valentines Day with him because he has to work.

Instead of being all depressed and saying "poor me", I decided to make it a fun Valentines for my other 2 sweethearts, Spencer and Benson. It turns out planing a fun dinner, is a lot easier (and cheaper) then planning a romantic dinner.
For dinner we had spiral noodles (because they are cooler then spaghetti noodles) , with love sauce ( aka spaghetti sauce). We had strawberries, tomatoes, and strawberry milk because they are all vday colors.

Benson helped me make these heart shaped biscuits.

For dessert we had fruit dipped in pink-chocolate.
The boys loved it, and so did I.

Happy Birthday Spencer!

As Spencer's Birthday got closer, and we started talking about a birthday party for him, I gave him 2 choices. Number 1, lots of friends over for a few hours on a Saturday, or number 2, 2 friends over for a sleepover party. He thought about it for about 2 seconds and decided on choice 2.

He invited his 2 best friends, Treyton and Jonas over on a Friday night.

The night of the party we went shopping for all the sleep over essentials. I took Spencer to the store and told him he could buy what ever junk food he wanted. He chose cookies. Yep that's it, one box of cookies is all. I figured he would be throwing things in the cart non stop, but he didn't. I had to talk him into buying more. He said he didn't want to waist money on buying a lot of food. ( He is such a good kid)

Spencer was so excited, when he got home from school that day. He ran in and started setting things up. This only took about 5 min. Then he had to wait for 2 hours for his friends to show up. This may have been the longest 2 hours of his life.
When Trey and Jonas arrived, they all wanted to open gifts, so that's where we started. They were moving and jumping around so much, I wasn't able to get any good pics.

Then on to a healthy dinner. Spencer's choice was chicken nuggets, french fries and soda.
What's a birthday without cake? Luckily one of the items I was able to talk him into at the store was some cupcakes.

I should have just bought a bucket of frosting. That is all the kids ate anyways.

Then all the superheros put on their costumes and continued to destroy my house until late at night when the evil mother pretty princess told them they must go to bed.

Cake Boss

Spencer and Benson love watching the show on TLC called Cake Boss. After they first watched the show, they started making their own cakes out of blocks. I thought it would be fun if they could decorate their own real cake.
They both had their own style. Spencer (top) did it slow a steady.
Benson (bottom) just squeezed the frosting bottle as hard as he could.

There cakes turned out interesting great.

but the most important thing is, they tasted great.

A Long Hard Day

When I picked Spencer up from school today, I asked him how school was. He replied, "Good" but then added with a sigh, "I need to go home and take a long hot bath".

Meditation

While driving home from school one day, Spencer asked if everyone could please be quiet so he could meditate. I turned around, and sure enough he was in a meditation pose. Later that day, while at home he did the same thing.
I have seen him do it a few times since that day.
He says he learned it from Fantastic Mr. Fox.
