It's Getting Hot in Here

It has been

this week.

It has hit as high as 107 degrees.

Normally, I LOVE the hot weather,

but since the average temperature for this time of year is 80 degrees

that means NO

My New Love

I have found my new love, some may call it an addiction.
I know what you are all saying right now.
"We all know you are addicted to Mafia Wars, this isn't news"
Well your right, I am addicted to MW. But this isn't about that addiction.
In fact, this has pulled me away from MW a lot lately.

We found the most wonderful beach just 10 minutes from
Our House
and we have spent 3 of the last 5 days there.

We have found other beaches, but this one is our favorite.

We all enjoy it so much, from eating yummy sandwiches on the beach,
to playing in the water.

It is so great to be able to spend fun times like this with the family.

Mom's Gift

I am going on the record now. Bop's future wife is the luckiest girl in the world.

Sweet part 1

the idea The other day Bop and I were laying together watching a movie while Burner took his nap. Bop asked me if it would be alright if he and dad went to the store tonight to pick up a surprise for me. I told him he would have to ask Dad. I didn't think much of the conversation. I did think it was sweet that he had thought about getting me something.

Sweet part 2
remembering the plan

When Dad got home, Bop did his regular "Ya Dada is home" but it was fallowed by a "Dad can we go to the store and get a surprise for mom?" I was a little shocked. By this time I had forgotten about the conversation earlier. Bop whispered to Dad what he wanted to get me, and then they were off to the store.
Sweet part 3
putting mom first The first stop at the store was to pick up my gift. They then browsed around a little just for fun. While browsing Bop found a "must have item" When Dad explained to him that he wouldn't be able to buy Mom her gift, if he bought this other item, he put it back and said, "I don't really want it"

Sweet part 4
the gift So what was this surprise that Bop wanted to get for mom...... ...........Flowers! He was vary specific about the flowers. They had to be PINK because that is my favorite color, and they had to be small enough to fit in the house.

Now tell me, is that not the sweetest 4 year old in the world.

Burners Big Boy Bed

We switched Burner over to his big boy bed.

This is how he sleeps in it.

Should we start taking bets on how long it will be until he falls out of it.

PS It does have side rails, he is laying on top of it.

And here we go again!

The kids are both in bed.
Mom and Dad just turn on their movie.
We hear little foot steps creaking down the stairs.
Dad looks at Mom and says "Bop is awake"
Mom looks at Dad and says "That's weird he was pretty zonked out a minute ago"
Burner peeks his head around the corner and says "heee heee heee"
his eyes say "guess what I know how to do"
Back in May Burner mastered the art of climbing out of his Playard/ Sleeper. I assumed that when we got back from vacation he would easily climb out of his crib, but he never tried it.

I was very bewildered, but happy that he wasn't going to give us that headache yet.

Last night he climbed out like a pro. I went and put him back in his bed and peeked through the door to see what he would do. I wasn't even to the door yet and he was half way out, sliding down the side of the crib.

I am not excited for nap/ bed times.

Dig Pit

Burner is my 'all boy' one of his favorite things to do is play in the dirt mud.
He usually looks a lot like this at the end of the day.

(Sorry I know it is kinda a bad picture, it is the best I could find)

His constant dirty face is the reason I love this place

It is the 'Dig Pit' at the Childrens museum.
Burner gets to dig, scoop, and dump as much as
he wants and he comes home clean as can be.

Because there is no dirt, only rubber chips.
It is like a dream come true for both of us.

Burner and Dr. Bop

You all know about Burners Love for climbing on things and falling off them soon after.

So to make sure he was okay, we had Dr. Bop take a look at him.

He checked his height

checked his weight


listened to his heart

and finally checked the x-rays of Burners bones

Dr. Bop was so nice to Burner, he even let him try on his Dr. coat and stethoscope.
Dr. Bops conclusion is that Burner is ' a cute little Stitch' ( as in Lilo and Stitch)
Mom agrees!

Bop's Talk in Church

Bop gave his first talk in Primary today. He did a great job.

Building, Building, Building...

If Bop had it his way, he would stay at home all day every day a build.
His favorite thing to build is forts, huts, houses, etc. with blankets, chairs tables and anything else he can find.
He also builds and rebuilds different train track configurations with his Geo Tracks.
He loves to pull out the Lego's and see what he can design.
Lately he lays in bed and draws pictures of what he is going to build the next day
( I will have to post some of his drawings some day)
He is a little addicted I think.

The other day I finally put my foot down,
I couldn't handle staying home one more day and 'building'
We went to the museum, you want to guess what he did there!?

He BUILT towers out of wood pieces...

he BUILT houses out of blocks...

... and he BUILT bridges for trains to drive over.

Hmmmm I wonder what he is going to be when he grows up!

4th of July ( late)

Okay, okay I know I am a little bit a lot late at posting my 4th of July pics. I have a great excuse, but the story is to long and boring so...............

We had a great 4th of July. It was not only the best 4th of July I can remember having, it was also the best time I have had in a long time.

We went to a bbq and fireworks at a friends of a friends.
Seeing as we didn't know the hosts, I was a little nervous about feeling out of place.
As soon as we arrived my fears went out the door.
There was probably over 300 people there. A lot of them being friends of friends.

They had so many fun things to do.
we played in the dirt,
swung on tire swings,
played on the rope swing,
jumped on the trampoline,
and so much more.

One of the funnest parts was the creek that flowed right below the property.
Bop ventured into the water and played a little
Burner preferred to throw rocks in from the side.

I didn't get pics of the fireworks, but it was a show worthy of Stadium of Fire.
The fireworks were all very expensive, which of course means AWESOME


These pictures don't do the day justice. Just take my word for it. It was a blast.

Not Impressed with the Wild West

Our Children Museum recently changed the awesome Bob the Builder Exhibit into a new (somewhat boring) exhibit. You can do things like, build a log cabin, ride a barrel horse, have a picnic, and similar things. It was still fun, but the boys and I miss Bob.

Good thing there are a lot more exhibits there,
or I would ask for my money back on the pass I bought.

Smile, No Say Cheese, How About a Silly Face....

Bop wanted to take some pics with the web cam yesterday. He told us where to sit and how to pose. He would instruct us on when to smile and when to do silly faces. He picked out what background to use, and which effect looked best to him. I am surprised he didn't go upstairs and pick out new outfits for us to wear also :)

Global Warming?

Burner doesn't believe in Global Warming.

When it is cold enough to wear long sleeves in July,
it makes me want to pray for global warming!
Okay I admit he doesn't need a hat and scarf,
but Bop put it on him and it was really cute!

The last 3 weeks I have been doing a date night with my 2 little guys. Every Friday night we pop some popcorn pick out a movie and all snuggle together watching it.

This last week we added another friend to the mix. Bops friend Taylor spent the night, so she got to watch "Happy Feet" with us. She was a lot of fun and very entertaining. We were glad she could come hang out with us
