Everyone that we saw was amazing live! And it was for a good cause. So there you go. Here are some highlights;

- Me thinking I had contagion/stomach flu/ migraine the whole day
- Mullet man sitting next to us going to get security because someone stood in front of him
- Pregnant lady smoking
- haze over the entire crowd from everyone smoking pot
- The overselling of the "lawn" area that  put everyone in a bad mood
- Carlos Santana and Los Invisibles, no I'm not kidding, they were actually really really amazing
- Dave eating his first corn dog
- Dave's face lit up as he finally got to see Mumford and Sons
- The teenage girl in tears as mumford and sons was playing, and her "cool mom" rocking out to try to fit in.
- Finding out that 70-80% of the proceeds really do go to the school :)

Anyways, it was fun times.

This doesn't quite do it justice, the crowd was HUGE!
Thats me recovering the next day!

Bobbiejane

Funny story;

When I was little I distinctly remember my mom telling the secretary at the big orange desk at Canyon View Elementary that my name was "Bobbiejane, with a little j, and all one word." We had this discussion with many secretaries/teachers/pretty much anyone who asked what my name was. Naturally, I believed that this was indeed my name. Bobbiejane. Not Bobbie like a boy, not Rachel, or Lyndsay, or something easy to remember, but "Bobbiejane little j, all one word."

When I decided to go to Mexico when I was 19, all I needed was my birth certificate to get back into the country. Standing at the gate with birth certificate in hand, I looked at my legal name for the first time.

There it was in the two black boxes, yes TWO boxes, one for first name, one for middle name. Bobbie
Jane. Separated. Capitol J. I felt cheated, like I had been lied to my entire life. When I questioned my mother about the situation, her response was  "Those d*** people in the birth certificate office put down whatever the he** they want!"

Whatevs, I still go by Bobbiejane, little j, all one word.

Anyways, I occasionally peruse the internet looking for incredible people with my same namesake. I've googled "bobbiejane stauffer" or "bobbiejane" and until recently I hadn't found anything that interesting. Then I found this girl representing with her own website.

www.bobbiejane.com

What a baller.

I think this girl is more like me at that age; so you go bobbiejane, you go.

Home

Over labor day I went home to see the family, and my babies; Brooke, Halle, Will, and Winston.

Highlights:

When Halle went to the bathroom and informed me that she had just eaten food, and "when you eat food it turns to poop, then poop comes out your bum."

Squeezing Winsters fat little body, and making him laugh

Running/walking with Brookie Cookie

Watching my dad look like a little boy when he's out in the back yard trying to catch squirrels

My mom doing my hair- she's so selfless, she was at the salon for 7 hrs straight on labor day doing everybody's hair.

Driving around getting soda

Hanging out with the family

Reading to all three little babies in one chair

Here's my evidence;

 The Many Faces of Winston

The best part of these are they were taken within about 10 seconds of each other.

Brooke always leaves post-its on the mirrors usually saying; "wake me up at 1pm" or something to that effect. This was the one that I woke up to;

My obsessions:
Those babies
Going home
Yellow and gray together
Having blonde hair again

LA trip

With Dave and I working full time, its been a pretty busy summer. However, we took a few days off of work for his cousins wedding in Huntington Beach! On the way down I had to stop and see Summer, she was already 2 days old, it couldn't wait until I got back!

I loved holding that little baby! She is so adorable, and she has the most beautiful hair I've ever seen on a baby!! She's already gorgeous, of course. I'm so glad that Siera lives close so we can see each other, its like having family nearby, and makes it seem like home is a little closer.  I can't wait for Sum to get a little bigger so I can play with her more!

Back to LA.

The sealing and reception were absolutely beautiful! They even used our same photographer, so it was fun to see him again.

What else did we do you ask?
-We got our tan on! (One thing that drives me crazy about northern California is that its too cold to lay out at the beaches, what a waste.)
- Disneyland/California Adventure:  Dave's mom was nice enough to get us tickets to the parks while we were down there. Lucky for us, his poor sister had a migraine the day we were supposed to go, so we upgraded our tickets, and spent two days at the parks!
- Drank Diet Mt. Dew, out of a fountain. One of the best parts... the 7-11 on the corner by our hotel having DMD!  It was bliss, it almost made up for the family b word at IHOP.
- Rainbows Outlet! These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I wear them basically everyday.

Highlights;

I really like taking pictures of people sleeping , I think its my gift.

Star Tours. Amazing.

The happy couplef

California Screamin rocked my world.

I never thought I would see "scrunchies" again, however these girls rocked them. I envied them the entire 20 min we stood in line behind them.

World of Color at Cal adventure = most amazing show I've ever seen.

Seriously, google a video of it it. I die.

I did it for you, enjoy.

I loved the Sword in the Stone growing up, I wanted to  be the wizard.

It doesn't look like it here, but the tower of terror was the scariest thing besides spiders in my life.

Nothing beats the magic of the castle at night.

My Obsessions
World of Color
Space mountain
Indiana Jones
Tower of Terror
California Screaming
Disney

I swore I would never blog, but my experiments aren’t working so I’m bored

I should probably be reading up on sphingolipids, ceramides, and different types of cells I can steal from  sacrificed mice to use for my next batch of experiments, however blogging is much more appealing.  Where to begin…  an update for my peeps I suppose:

 I miraculously finished my first year of grad school courses, without failing any of them. Trust me, this was a feat in itself (I learned on my first day I had never taken 2 prerequisites to the program) Oops!

 Dave commutes about 1 ½ hrs to the bay area where he’s a superintendent at a landscape development company.

We planted our first garden this year, which after months of hard work ground squirrels and rabbits have managed to destroy… the war begins.

Dave and I just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary!

I'm officially living in Davis now that I go to farmers market every Saturday, and use a bicycle as my main mode of transportation. Pics of stoplights flashing bicycle's to come.

Life in Davis is moving right along.
