Major's story

On July 30th 2012 I was 36 weeks 6 days Pregnant. (One day longer than I was pregnant with Ryann) I woke up today at eight o clock and thought huh I am either having contractions or I have got some major diarrhea. Dad got put on call until 10 a.m. since he was up all last night trying to help Aunt Penney with the seizers that she was having, so when he woke up he asked me what was going on. I told him I wasn't exactly sure yet, but I was probably going to come visit him at work today. He set there for a minute in shock and asked me if I was serious. I told him that I had some diarrhea a little earlier, but the cramping was still there and it comes and goes like contractions. As he got ready for work I had to make a game plan since my first plan was to leave Ryann with Penney, but since she was in the hospital too I needed to find a plan B. Aunt Megan had offered to help so I called her next but as my luck would have it she was getting her wisdom teeth taken out. It is a good thing that your dad has lots of sisters. I called Aunt Jade next and I'm glad she was able to help because she really came through for me. I was glad to get a plan under way because just as dad left the contractions begin to get stronger. Dad had grandma come over to help out with the kids and to take me to the hospital so I started to pack a bag for Ryann and then figured I had better clean the house. I wanted to be able to bring you home to a clean place plus I knew that was the last thing I would want to do when I got home. That must have got my contractions going so I decided to hurry and hop into the tub, since that seemed to help when I had Ryann. I also wanted to make sure my legs were shaved. I don’t know if it was because Ryann was in the tub with me or what but the water didn't seem to help much this time and I wondered if it was time to go to the hospital. Just as I got Ryann dressed Jade came over to see how things were going and if I needed help with anything I told her she was going to have to hold on because I was having a contraction and it was hard to talk during the contractions but just as I started to answer her question I realized I was having another contraction. Jade said that my contractions seemed pretty close together and so she started timing them for me they were about 2 minutes apart so Jade and I decided it was time to go to the hospital. Jade got grandma and I called dad. I think it caught them both off guard that I was so far along. When we got to the hospital my contractions were getting worse and I had to take at least 4 breaks before we got to the Women's Center to check in. We got there about the same time as another couple but they could see that I was having a pretty strong contractions and they let me go in front of them I really appreciated it because I was starting to get really anxious for my epidural. They had to wait 3 different times for my contractions to pass to get the epidural in. When I got to the hospital it was close to 1 p.m. and I was dilated to a 6 they didn't get the epidural in until about 1:30 and it didn't seem effective until about 2 I was starting to get worried that I was going to have you before I could feel the epidural by then both grandma's were there and all we could do was wait… at 3:30 my water broke, the nurse checked me and said I was at a 9+ and it was time to call the doctor. I told her that it took me 3 hours to push Ryann out and I wasn't in any hurry but she seemed too focused on what she was doing and even though I couldn’t feel any of the contractions your heart rate dropped dramatically with every one, so I decided that it was probably best to get you out as soon as possible too. Dr Hansen came in and said you were going to be here in 3 minutes. I laughed out loud although his joke didn't seem very funny to me everything was happening so fast that I almost forgot to ask for a mirror and I completely forgot to have someone recording. They got me a mirror just in time because by the third push your head came out. I of course started crying I couldn't believe how small and beautiful you were even dad got a little emotional the doctor was right you were here at 3:42 you were 6 pounds 15 ounces and 17 and 1/2 inches long and the most handsome little guy I have ever seen I couldn't believe all the hair you had I guess all about heartburn really paid off. You were having some trouble breathing so they only let me hold you for a minute and then dad and the nurse rushed you to get you breathing right away. Dad said they sucked out 200 cc's of fluid out of you and no matter how much they tried to get you to cry, you wouldn't budge. You were gone for about 2 hours and by the time they brought you back you were hungry you had no problems latching on and eating. You had a few visitors that day besides both of your grandma’s, grandpa, Brookie, Blake, and Jade. She brought the whole clan (her kids, Penney’s kids, and your sister) but they wouldn’t allow any children in except for siblings so Uncle Ryan had to stay out with them. So Jade and Ryann came in for only a few minutes. I really wanted to see Ryann too but I was nervous how she would react but the first thing she did when she came in was point at you she has loved you since the first time she saw you. I held both of you in my arms and Ryann smothered you with kisses and touching your eyes, and, nose and mouth and head when she was done she wanted to go right back to Jade she didn't even want anything to do with Bryce or I. I was really relieved that she didn't cry... for us at least. Jade said that she had been so good for her and that she hasn't cried or whine even once. I was thrilled to know that I wasn't going to have to worry about Ryann while I was in the hospital. I could just enjoy mommy and daddy and Major time, although it surprised me at how much I missed Ryann and I was anxious to get home and be with my whole family! I know there are a few more spirits waiting to join our family but with you here we are starting to feel more complete. The next few days we had more visitors, Aunt Megan and her family. Uncle Tony informed that he had poops that were bigger than you were. Uncle kit and Aunt Maritza came to see you even Aunt Penney got special permission to come visit you for a while, everyone who came to visit agreed that you were perfect. The hospital gave dad and I a special dinner the last night that we were there to celebrate your arrival. We enjoyed the time at the hospital that we got to cuddle with you! On August 1st we finally got to take you home and even though I was excited I was also a little nervous about having two babies but you are just as sweet as you are cute and Ryann just seems so big to me I can hardly believe it. She likes to help me by putting your diapers in the garbage, and putting your binky in your mouth she also helps burp you and helps me wake you up to eat by giving you kisses and patting your head… and poking your eyes and making your mouth sound like a motor boat. Lucy was anxious to meet you too! As soon as I got you home I sat down with you and Lucy came right up and cuddled with you. If someone is holding you she will jump up to make sure you are okay. Dad had a soccer game that day and so my mom came over to help, which was good because as soon as dad left it was time to feed you and Ryann started throwing a fit but Granny fed her for me and that seemed to help it was a rough night and I couldn't seem to get you to sleep so I finally woke dad crying and he helped calm both of us down!

the 4th and 24th

For the 4th we went to the West Jordan Parade. It was nice because that way we could sleep in a little longer. I hate waking sleeping babies and Ryann is a late sleep. We still got there a little late, but it was perfect timing for us!! Afterward we went to the Erickson's for pool and picnic. Lucy and I were dying in the heat, and Bryce found made some kind of contraption to where they would climb up the ladder and swing from the tree branch and land in the water he was determined to a flip in the water, and of coarse he did! Ryann was just happy to be outside although didn't want to get in the water much.

ready, set, go

Ry helped me get everything out for her little brother. We got out the hooter hider( I am NOT excited to have to use this again) , Which she used as her Cape. And I found some binky's that she never used. Although when she saw them she thought they looked like fun. I hope she won't see her brother using them and want to use them too but I do hope that major will I want to use them even if they are a little girly. Well my bags are packed and I'm ready to go. I hope that he is about ready as well!

all by myself

1 of Bryce's best man at our wedding is now getting married in Las Vegas. The wedding was planned for July 13th and even though my doctor thought it would be best if I didn't go I was going to go anyways but the wedding was moved to the 21st of July instead and since my baby will probably come a month early like his Sister I decided to take my doctor's advice and stay home. My doctor told Bryce that if he was planning on going that he better get home before the baby is born because that would be tacky. I didn't think little major would come that early but I also knew that predicting these things isn't easy and I didn't want Bryce to have to stay home on the possibility of me going into labor. I figured Las Vegas isn't  that far away and he could come home if he needed to. Penney
And her family planned a trip at the same time so I guess this week just going to be all by myself...and Ryan...and Lucy...and her puppies

sew not my thing

I guess you could say I am in the nesting phase of pregnancy. There is something about being pregnant that makes me want to be crafty so I decided that I wanted to make major a car seat cover and a blanket to match since Bryce and penny are both gone I thought it would be perfect time to keep me busy I also thought this would be at Easy project but I was wrong I have never wanted to cuss more send all my life. I showed Bryce my project when he got home and he asked me if TJ my 6 year old nephew made it. He was so right sewing is definitely not my thing I am sure a 6 year old could have done just as good of a job!!

tonight will be the first night...

Bryce and I went to A a wedding the other day. The sealer told the couple that tonight will be the first night (then he paused) i sat there with eyes wide opened wondering if he was really going to say what I thought he was going to say, but to my surprise he said something completely appropriate. He told the couple that tonight will be their first night of family prayer. He Encouraged them to never miss it even if they were praying beside a hospital bed. Lately I have been really discouraged and feeling a little bit hopeless. With all my family drama I realized that no matter how much I wanted my kids to make good decisions and to be happy that they will want to make their own decisions weather I like them or not , and this scared the crap out of me. After listening to the encouragement of the sealer it gave me hope and I knew that was something what we could do as a family right now. I know my kids will still be able to make their own decisions but I also know that prayer give families strength and power. After all families who pray together stay together, so now it is my goal to always pray as a family even if it is by the side of my hospital bed.
