Christmas

Megan gave us her old Christmas Tree and I already had all the decorations since I bought all of that stuff 2 years ago. I love Christmas tree decorating. When we get a house I want to put a Christmas tree in every room! and sometimes I like to fantasize about how to decorate the outside with lights!!! Penney had our name and so she made us a cute little Santa boot to hang up, and Megan gave me a cute little Christmas sign, so I was glad that we could do some decorating!
I was still a little bummed about Christmas this year however. It was the first time that I couldn't go all out for Bryce's Christmas present, and since my money is now our money I kind of felt like it wasn't ME who was getting him a present, but that WE were getting him a Christmas present. I hope he likes what I got for him, because I would hate to buy him a present with his money, that he didn't even want.

Bryce had to work Christmas Eve night from 1am-6am (so Christmas day really). We debated on where I should sleep if I should just stay at his parents, so he wouldn't have to drive clear back to Herriman after he gets of work, or if I should just go back home. We finally decided that we wanted to spend the first little part of Christmas morning at our place and do our own little thing before the rest of the Christmas maddness happened. While Bryce was at work Santa came and filled his stocking, and apparently Santa Came back while I was sleeping because when I woke up my stocking was full too. Bryce woke me up when he got home and we started opening! I was kind of wondering if Santa would fill my stocking up with the same things that I use to get when I was living with my mom. The things were similar Santa never disappoints!!! I loved spending Christmas with Bryce in our place by our Christmas tree starting our own traditions.
Bryce got 2 guitar hero guitars and 3 games I got spoiled!!! Even Lucy had a stocking full of stuff!

I got a little plane- indicating a visit to see my BCF!
We decided to spend the day with Bryce's family and the night with my family. Bryce was exhausted and slept for most of the day. But the best part was being together...
... All 3 of us!!!

My Birthday

This year my birthday is on a Sunday. I thought that it might be kind of Lame, but it was just the opposite. I felt like I got to celebrate it all week. Bryce totally spoiled me, but that's nothing new he always spoils me!!! First he took me shopping. I was a little surprised at what a great sport he was about the whole thing. Then we went out bowling with his family, and later he took me to see the movie Blindside. On my actual birthday we went back to our homeward for farewell and then we went to my grandmas for my birthday dinner. Later in the week my mom and sister took me to see New moon and then we went out to the cheesecake factory for some cheesecake. It was such a great week filled with all of my favorite things, shopping, bowling, movies, family and cheesecake!!!

The fattest weekend ever!

For our first Thanksgiving as a married couple we went to Vernal. It was Bryce's grandma's 90th Birthday and so we had a big celebration for her

plus it was one of the biggest holidays in Utah, the BYU and U of U football game. I have never had so many parties and so much food all in one weekend! It was really fun though. I love hanging out with Bryce's cousins. They are kind of the best!!!

Halloween

We were debating doing a Halloween Party this year because we are poor and we didn't really have any where to do it, but Margo said that we could do it at her place, and everyone chipped in with food, so we couldn't resist. I was actually really excited about this Halloween party I decided that we were going to play a truth or dare spoons game. The person who was last to grab a spoon had to do a dare.

These were some of the dares...

Jared had to eat a sandwich made with one ingredient from everyone.

Randy had to play this little piggy with Bryce's toes

Krissy had to do a dance in front of everyone for 1 minute

Trisha had to eat 2 peppers and drink a glass of straight lemon juice and a packet of salt

Some of the other dares where to act like a cat and a dog and chase each other across the room, smell everyone's feet and rate whose smelled the best and whose smelled the worse, someone had to prank call someone in the ward, someone had to do their best impersonation of someone else in the room, someone had to do a makeout seen with a broom
It was a good time. Playing spoons has never been so intense!!! I think we will have to do that one again. I love the costumes this year they were very creative

Bryce had to work on Halloween, but I dressed up for work and I dressed Lucy up in a pumpkin costume this year, so we had our own Halloween Party!

I want to thank you, thank you

So I thought that after we got married all the stress would be gone, but after we opened all of our presents my mom told me that I had 6 months to send out thank you cards before I was considered tacky. I totally stressed about it. I hate to seem ungrateful, because I am so grateful for all the kind presents everyone gave us. I felt so spoiled by everyone's love that they showed, but here is the truth of the matter. I am a newlywed and I'm poor, and I really can't afford to buy thank you cards and stamps. that would be an extra $300 dollars at least. So if I didn't send you a thank you note. I want you all to know how grateful I am for your help and for your presents. I feel truly blessed having such great friends and family! And Alanis I want to thank you for that song, it may not be your best, but I think it gets the point across!

Ps. I'm not sure what is more tacky sending a late thank you or posting it on my blog?

We're back!!

We just got back from a week in cabo and although it is good to be back in America. I must say that we did love having a place all to ourselves. We had a Kingsize bed, jetted bath tub, a kitchen with normal size fridge, oceanside views, a pool, the beach, plus room service and maids to clean up after you. It doesn't get much better than that!!! I guess it is time to get back to reality though, but for being homeless I can't complain, because we are so bless to live in America and to have a loving family that is willing to take us in! I can't thank you guys enough!!!

Cabo Cabo Cabo (You have to say it like Kristen)

I really wanted to go out of the country for our honeymoon, so we thought Mexico would be fun, and not too expensive, plus Bryce speaks Spanish so we wouldn’t have to worry about the language barrier. My mom has a time share with the Hilton Resort so we stayed in the Fiesta Americana. Are plane left at 5:00 am so we had to be up and ready at 3.

We had a connecting plane to Cabo from California, but we were stuck in the airport for 2 hours. So Bryce and I found a nice quiet spot with an outlet and we watched American Outlaws. I found two benches, so I moved them together so we could lay down together, Bryce was so embarrassed!

We were told before hand that they would have people to take us to our hotel, so that we shouldn’t go with anyone else or they would charge us a lot of money. So when we got there we waited and waited and waited, but no one from our hotel came. Bryce was getting really nervous, so finally we decided to get on another bus, they of coarse said that they could take us there, we were driving for about a ½ hour and Bryce was panicking I am too naive to worry about stuff like that so I just enjoyed the ride. Speaking of being Naive. I thought Mexico would be a little more rough looking, but I didn't think that it looked too much worse than some parts of Salt Lake City, or midvale.

First they dropped us off at a liquor store, and after that we wondered onto a dirt road. I tried to ask Bryce some questions to keep him calm, but by now he was really freaking out. He looked at me and said I CAN’T TALK RIGHT NOW! But we finally got there and it was beautiful!!! The people there greeted us with some wet towels. Bryce I looked at each other not quite sure what to do with them, but took them anyway and thanked the people there. Fist we signed up to take a tour of the place, so we could have a free breakfast, next we went to our room, relaxed a little bit and then got ready for dinner.
This is a view of the entire hotel. We stayed in the place on the left. Our hotel was so big that they had to take us to our room on a golf cart. Our driver tried to teach me our room number in Spanish, but I forgot it everytime. It confused them that Bryce knew Spanish and I didn't, but it was neat to see Bryce use his Spanish. He also got to teach one of the guys there a little about our religion. Bryce loved it!!!

We were too tired to go anywhere so we just ate at the hotel. They had a romantic little restaurant on the beach lit with candles perfect for a honeymoon.
Bryce was definitely not dressed for the occasion!

The next day we rented a car and went sight seeing. Bryce wanted to go to a grocery store so he could make me some authentic meals. We got a little lost trying to find the grocery store and ended in the outskirt of town. I wanted to take some pictures, but Bryce freaked out on me, it was a little grungy where we were at and he didn't want to bring any attention to us. It was interesting to me that Mexico has a Wal-Mart, Sam’s club, home depot, McDonalds, Domino’s pizza, and a Mall.
Bryce wanted some goggles, but he had to try them of first. I told him he was being a dirty Mexican. This is another one of our attempts of trying to blend in. Don't we look like Mexicans? We wanted to buy a sombrero, but neither one of us had any idea what we would do with one.
we saw a sign that said coco frio, so we decided to check it out. Although they are kind of fun looking, they were disgusting!!!

We were there during there Mexican Independent day, so that night they had all sorts of parties going on, but some people there told us that we should go back to our hotel early because things get a little to crazy for us gringos.

The next day we signed up for some activities. We signed up for a tour boat and snorkeling, and a zip line that goes from canyon to canyon.

We were walking around the marina and there were beautiful sail boat and ships, and then we got to ours, it was…festive. Actually I loved it I wanted something really authentic and that is exactly what I got. The tour took us all around Cabo, to lover’s arch, and to a place where we could go snorkeling.

The guy on the boat told us that we had an hour to go snorkeling and then he would sound the horn, and if we weren’t on the bus, then welcome to Cabo, find a job, and hitch you way back to home. The funny thing is, he meant it. He wasn’t worried about getting sued or anything like that, it is not the Mexico way. The snorkeling was fun. We saw a ton of fish, there were so many by us that I felt like every time I moved I was kicking them. When we got back on the boat they offered us lunch. I was thinking we would get some tacos, or fajitas, or quesadillas, but no we got bologna sandwiches. It was the worst sandwich I have ever had in my life!!! But we also got free drinks, so Bryce and I filled up on virgin pina colada’s.

The Zip lines were a lot of fun too. It was a good workout, there was a lot of hiking involved, and they had 8 different zip lines that went from canyon to canyon.

You could do some different things going down the zip lines, some of them you could go down in twos, they had a line called mariposa, which means butterfly, if you are a gringo, but if you know Spanish then it means something entirely different, it was a little kinky, but I liked it. They had a superman one where you would jump off the cliff, one where you went backwards down, and one where I thought you were suppose to hand upside down, but apparently you can only do that if you are one of the instructors, oops my bad. Luckily we were in Mexico so they didn’t really care.

We were really sweaty and gross when we got back from the zip lines, so I decided to make us a huge bubble bath, only I have never had a real bubble bath with jets so I poured way too much soap in the tub, there were so many bubbles that Bryce and I couldn’t even see each other in the tub.

Our last full day there we went to the beach. We bought a boogie board at Wal-Mart and had a lot of fun with it, but the waves were so big that it sucked by bottoms right off of me. I was more scared about getting away from the way though. All the native guys were laughing at me, but I didn’t really care all they saw was my butt. One of the guys there actually did get stuck in a wave and had to call out for help.
On the way home the Captain took our picture and let us fly the plane home

It was an amazing honeymoon. I loved spending everyday all day with Bryce. I was really sad to leave and go back to real life, but I was also anxious to see my puppy and get back to America! Bye Bye Cabo I hope we will get to come back and visit you again someday!!!
