Father

Happy Fathers Day to the man who teaches our boys new things, like riding bikes,

  to work hard,

To love well,

be carefree,

and be strong when needed.

Thank you Bryce for being such a wonderful husband and father.
We are all blessed to have you everyday of our lives!!

Boat

The other day the evening was just right for a boat ride. We grabbed our stuff and got on one of the nearest lakes and just enjoyed an hour out on the water. Living so close to so many beautiful lakes is wonderful and hopefully we can take advantage of it more often this summer.

Captain Preston guided our boat for the evening.

Patio

Well all our digging finally paid off. We got to lay down all the pavers this weekend and are so happy with how it is coming together! There is still one more step of putting down the locking sand on top to secure the pavers and finish off the look. Unfortunately you have to have the bricks dry out for 3 days and with this spring it may be a few more months before we get 3 days without rain!

This is our new front walkway.
We haven't had one since we moved in 3 years ago and I am so excited!

And this is our back patio. This has been just a big mud pit forever so this is a huge upgrade. I can't wait to have a place with some shade to sit in our yard.

It's felt a little odd to not have a monstrous job hanging over our head these last few days. But I think it is a good thing that we haven't been able to get outside and keep working because I needed time to recover moving all these pavers!

Mother's Day

We had a busy Mother's day because we have so many wonderful mothers to be thankful for!

My handsome little men

Elliot testing out Mammau's ability to find certain animals on the page without looking.
Spoiler alert - it doesn't matter how well you do he will always tell you that you missed it!

Hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa enjoying some sundaes.
Preston did join us this day I promise, his nap time just happened to overlap the parts of both visits when I had my camera close by to snap photos!

Trucks

Today's entertainment brought to you by Target's dollar section. One dollar for each truck and bucket. Add some blocks and a box "cave" and these boys are set for these rainy days!

Stacking and Snuggling

These two love to have sleep overs in Elliot's room. They get all snuggled up in bed and just giggle. Makes me so happy to see these happy moments between them. It definitely isn't always giggles!!

Preston loves to stack blocks these days. I love that he doesn't get frustrated when the tower falls down. Thankfully he can be a very patient little dude when he wants to be!

Digging

What have we been up to lately? Well the answer is digging and hauling. This spring's first big project is installing a front walkway and a back patio with retaining wall. So digging, digging, and hauling bricks/gravel/sand, and more digging.

The start of the retaining wall.

Sand and 2 ridiculously heavy pallets of pavers.

Proof that even I get in on the heavy lifting action!

 We had the cutest supervisor!

At the beginning of the dig he was scared to touch the worms. By the end of the day he was giving them kisses and taking them on adventures!

Retaining wall done - on to the patio!

Preston decided to test out the structural integrity of the wall, his head lost that battle! But his brother gave him one of his Ninja Turtle band aids so life is all good!
