Annual Check-up

I went the the doctor today for my annual check up which was about 16 months after my last one. Did I ever tell you I hate going to a doctor, hospital, clinic, dentist or any where that has to do with health. you feel good going in, but there are always sick people hacking and coughing, etc., all over the office. If you don't have anything going in, you will when you come out.

And why do you even have to have an appointment. You know you'll wait forever while who knows what's going on behind the closed doors. I waited over an hour to get into a room with a closed door and then 30 more minutes reading the medical junk hanging on the wall before the doctor came in. He took about 10 minutes to go over my blood work, check to see if I was breathing, stick a finger where it shouldn't be stuck, and tell me I'll live and have the the health of a 56 year old man. I have no idea what that means, but since I'm 64, I assume that's good.

My next check up will be after I'm 65, so I guess Uncle Sam (medicare) will tell me how or if I get one.

Good Day Playing Softball

This was in the Saturday "Villages Daily Sun" newspaper. I didn't see it, but today one of the guys I work with told me about it. So here it is. I did have a good day and the home run was over a 300 foot fence. I will admit there was some helping wind, but it's my first over the fence home run. It felt like a hole in one playing golf.

Christmas in Texas 2011

We spent some time in Texas for Christmas with the kids and grand kids. We had a great time and here are some of the photos from the trip.

Grandpa and Drews sucking on their bottles

Tatum on Grandpas cell phone

Barbara and Tatum looking at a Home & Garden magazine

Dylan with his newest t-shirt

Jes opening one of her presents

Tyler with his new T-shirt

Vicki with a new warm-up suit

Drews is very close to crawling. He moves around a lot and can get to anything he wants with a little time.

We spent some time at a bowling alley. Notice Tatum didn't do too bad

The boys and Dylan like to throw the football. I can throw a couple, but this old arm gets sore very quickly and I don't throw near as well as the kids do

Tross made a great catch

Birthday 2001

On my birthday we had some friends over to the house to enjoy each other and the holiday season. We don't exchange gifts anymore, but in a conversation a few weeks prior discussing some old Christmas movies, I mentioned that the lamp in the movie where the kid wanted a BB gun was the greatest gift ever. Open mouth, insert foot.

This is my birthday gift

This is what it looks like from the outside

And these presents will be headed to Texas next week
