Dear nurse Mugi-sama,
Please treat me.

I'm not feeling so good for the past few days. Must be due to drinking too much Coke and sleeping late for no apparent reason.

And the schoolwork is piling up on me:

[ ]Poisson
[ ]Econs Essay
[ ]Chem Nit Compound
[ ]Anything else

Uhh. I need a cure for my problems. Quick.

P.S Sorry Mrs Heng, I have to screw up yet another Physics test tomorrow. Fuck Electromagnetism.

Currenly hooked to:

Pandora Hearts OP1- Parallel Hearts by FictionJunction.

Obligatory picture (<3 Alice) :

Pandora Hearts is an anime that is currently airing. It has a deep plot so I highly recommend it.

And to hell with today's screwed up Maths test.
Though it was a good wake up call.

The road that you go on is only known to you...

Maybe it's time to sack Wenger afterall.

We have become such a joke.

Such a joke that Sir Alex Ferguson is on friendly terms with his once-hated nemesis Wenger.

Such a joke that even Soccernet choose to make fun and look down on us.

And Wenger still insists on keeping his purse tight for next season.

"Our players will learn and grow from their failures. There's always next season."

Stop using that excuse, Wenger.

Why it is hard to admit that your judgement is not 100% correct all the time?

Why are you trying so hard to emulate Sir Alex Ferguson?

Why can't you stick to your usual winning formula you had in the past?

Not that I'm a glory hunter, but I don't see the passion, drive, communication and the ability to produce something special from this Arsenal side.

Ah screw it. I'm not going to watch Manchester United possibly lifting the trophy after facing off against Arsenal next week. I'm probably going to keep tabs with the relegation dogfight for the last 2 round of fixtures of this season.

After that, it will be time to chuck another distraction away as I prepare for the inevitable Mid-Years and A Levels.

See ya again Gunners, in December. I hope things would have changed by then, for the better.

motivation

I think I may have just stumbled upon the motivation I need.

Although that goal that is seemingly impossible to achieve, well, I think I'll just give it a shot.

You never know, it might just happen.

Anyway, I've taken up an interest in competitive Pokemon battling.

Though I will need to own a DS before I can start battle with others over Wi-Fi.

Since it's already Sunday, Happy Mother's Day, mum.

During the darkest moments of my life last year, I greatly appreciate the huge amount of support my mum gave to me. Travelling to and fro to the hospital just to accompany me during my treatments, sitting on the chair beside my bed for hours despite still having to do the household chores. I will never forget her deed.

Thanks Mum. =)

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Wow.

It has been a year since that fateful incident.

I could still recall it as if it happened yesterday.

Then, it was the beginning of the darkest moments in my life.

But one year forward, I'm glad to be still alive and kicking.

Yup, even though life may seem sucky at times, cherish it, for you only have one chance to live it.

^Thorn among the roses. I like the words printed on the class T.

And I'm bored again.
Can someone please bring me out during the weekends, lol?

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

I'm dead beat.

Slept for only 2 hours yesterday.

Zombified mode in school. But hail the 1.5 hr break before Physics lecture!

Lecture was such a snore, I should have ponned together with the other three. But must give Mrs Heng a bit of respect la.

After that, went for lunch at Macs alone and went back to school to unveil the new 32nd EXCO for ny'AVA.

But unforseen circumstances arise after we revealed the positions and there is now no one occupying the secretary role.

Had debates and discussions with the 31st EXCO and Mrs Heng, and we are still yet to come upon a solution as of 5.30pm.

And thus, it concludes a tiring day for me as I am still discussing with Christopher
on how to resolve this issue.

Now moving on to my promised review of Arsenal's semi-final loss in the UCL.

So another season without any trophies.

Arsenal's exit out of the Champions' League was hard to take, since it was the only competition left in which the Gunners had a chance of winning.

The defeat to Manchester United sums it up: lack of desire, commitment and ideas.

The consequences of today's defeat might be severe, with frustrated players set to leave after failing to lift a trophy for 4 straight seasons.

To name a few,
Certain to leave: Van Persie
Possibly leaving: Adebayor, Fabregas, Walcott, Toure, Gallas

Seriously, sell the two strikers for all I care. Van Persie is wasteful, Adebayor is just a glimpse of his best last season. Both are unloyal.

I still have faith that the Gunners will be back stronger next season, with Arshavin no longer cup-tied, young players maturing, possible extra cash to spend and hopefully less injuries. What we need is a creative and clinical striker, a solid defensive midfielder, a strong centre-back and better decision making by Arsene Wenger. Monsieur Wenger himself is "off-form", having made a couple of questionable decisions this season, one of them being the FA Cup semi-finals, whereby he rested Arshavin and Nasri for no apparent reason.

And for those hardcore glory-hunter rival fans, please just shut the fuck up.

As I said before, "A true fan supports a team for how they play; winning trophies are just bonuses."
Man U leads 2-0 at half-time. Arsenal needs 4 goals to go through.

Do you believe in miracles?

I do.

EDIT: FT- Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United
Shall blog about it later.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Crunch tie today between Arsenal and Manchester United as both teams are fighting it out for the right to be in Rome in the UCL finals.

The Red Devils currently hold a slender 1-0 lead after the 1st leg at Old Trafford, and are hoping to extend the goal difference to cement a place in the finals.

The Gunners, meanwhile, face an uphill task despite what appears to be a slender lead. If the Devils were to score one goal in this fixture, Arsenal will need 3 goals to go through. Considering the key injuries to their defence personnel, the Gunners must probably stock up on their firepower to compensate for it.

Thus, this promises to be a thrilling match to watch, even for the neutrals.

Go Gunners, I have faith in you.
Show them a spirited performance; a never-say-die attitude till the final whistle!

Anyway, in other non-soccer related news,
It was nice to see some 0722 peeps again today.
Seriously miss those fun times we had.

Monday, May 4, 2009

Finally, it has started.

I sense a resurgence in the force.

But then,
When there's opportunity to idle, seize it before the going gets tough.

Oh, I'm such a sloth.
Fuck it, I can't snap out of it.
I'm starting to feel that I am living in my own world.

Ah, to hell with it, I'm gonna go out to celebrate life this weekend.

Anyone care to join me for a cup of coffee, movie or cycling trip?

Ice-cream, my treat.

Sunday, May 3, 2009

So I decided to spam 13 episodes of sola over the weekends to relieve boredom.

But shit, I picked the wrong anime to watch.
Not that it's not a good anime (in fact I will give it a 9 out of 10), but damn it makes me even more sad.

Ending Song:

Translation:

The memories recorded on faded pages
Come back to life when I close my eyes.
May this innocent one’s prayers
Take flight for the skies of hope.

I sighed, but time resumes its flow before long,
Even though I stood my ground, alone.

I hum a tune that protects dreams.
When people enter dreamland,
Their desire to see each other again someday
Gets woven into threads of love.
The bedtime stories which bring out kindness in people
Are those I heard from you.
Let us softly return – to the memories from back then.

Picking up the courage to step out,
Let’s head off into the wind.
If your heart should get lost,
Seek out the melody the girl sings as she sets forth.

I’ll call out in a voice so warm
That it would melt even the ice.

The dawn of melting snow is too dazzling.
Turning around, I see your smiling face.
The day we’ll meet again
Is definitely not far off, right?
If sorrow could turn into stars someday,
Please grant me the wishes that have taken root in my heart,
So that their radiance might descend onto the Earth.

I hum a tune that protects dreams.
In the depths of this emotion of peace
Is a soft thread of love which leads to happiness.
The bedtime stories which tell of fondness
Are those I learnt from you.
Let us softly return – to the memories from back then.

Why is the world so unfair? =(

Happiness

Happiness.

A term loosely used by most, and what does it exactly mean?

According to our good friend Wiki, it states that "Happiness is a state of mind or feeling such as contentment, satisfaction, pleasure, or joy."

Ah, I see the word satisfaction there.

Satisfaction is basically achieved when you are in ease with your mind.

However, from my observations, we are never satisfied with what we have.

Test results, possessions, wealth, the way we are treated, attention, time.

We always want more, whether it is in terms of quality, quantity or both.

It does not help that we now live in a society that is fast-paced, which accelerates depreciation of goods, increases competition amongst people and decreases the amount of spare time we have which can be used to establish firm relationships.

Which all leads to one problem: Dissatisfaction, which in turn cause unhappiness.

So why don't we just take a breather and stop progressing. It would minimise the level of our dissatisfaction, right?

Yet, we are unable to do so. Why? Because it is this dissatisfaction that prompts us to progress, to seek for the thing that would be able to make us happy once and for all.

Oh, the irony of it all.

GP Test today. Decided to write on a topic based on this notion:

"Let's eat, drink and be merry!"

How I wish, LOL!

Now for some rare pics of school life.
FINALLY, something interesting for Physics lesson (which I usually spend time stoning.)
Took most of the pictures with the filter in front of my camera, to show the colour bands.

Mrs Heng demo.

Everyone is amazed with photoelectric effect.

I see your true colours, shining through...

C.R.O. The LOL part was when some random guy in Physics class went high-pitch during testing, and when Ming Kiat partially damaged the only receiver which was still working.

Sunday, April 26, 2009

The weather has not been in a good mood for the past few days.
Sweltering heat that makes you sweat, dehydrate and as a result causing fatigue.

Ah, but it seems it's going to rain any moment now, thank God.

Putting that aside, this week isn't much to look forward too, with a test on each day.
And I have run out of games to play.

Rawr.

I need this:

Or maybe this:

Or maybe I just need some peeps who can entertain me.

So we see our dear Hitsugaya-kun get pwned in the lastest chapter of Bleach by Halibel, whose Resurrección is pure fanservice.

Yawn.

Another late night post.

Just here to share a touching video which was shared by a forumite a few days ago:

The guy who made this is talented sia.

Had a long day today, off to bed now.

By the way, K-ON's singles have already being released.
Shall obtain them...later on in the day.

DROGBA, AGAIN.

It just had to happen, didn't it?

Even without Senderos to bully, Drogba has once again destroyed Arsenal's dreams of lifting the trophy.

This time, it was the error of young Polish goalkeeper Fabiański, who had a birthday to forget.

But he was not the only one to be blamed.
In fact, the only 2 players who played well was Theo Walcott, and suprisingly 19-year-old Kieran Gibbs.

The biggest fault was perhaps Arsene Wenger's bizarre decision to play a 4-2-3-1 formation. (not 4-4-2 formation, Straits Times. -.-) Arshavin was fit and eager to go, so why in the world did Wenger choose to rest him instead? A Diaby-Denilson combo is always going to prove to be nerve-bundling.

So what's the verdict for Arsenal now?
Walcott and Van Persie have not signed extension contracts yet.
Toure is fed up and wants to leave.
Adebayor is not loyal.
Fabregas is tempted by Barcelona.

A mass exodus if the Gunners do not win the UCL? Highly possible.
And if that happens, I don't know what to say.

Saturday, April 18, 2009

Heh.Heh.Heh.

Midnight post.

Heh.Heh.Heh.
K-ONism has struck me.

BUT THAT'S NOT THE MAIN POINT HERE.

I feel so zombified. And dead.

Reasons:

Reason #1: Lack of sleep. Went for checkup on Wednesday, watched soccer on Thursday morning, followed by going to school straight for PE.

Reason #2: School life is as mundane as ever. Deprived of social interaction and expression.

Reason #3: Schoolwork for the weekends, plentiful. Fuck, I regret slacking earlier on in the week.

Shall put this here for self-reminder:
-Chem phenol tutorial
-Alcohol-phenol revision
-Chem ionic equilibrium questions
-Finishing up Maths complex no 4
-Physics assignment on mechanism (to attempt, need to revise 1/2 of the syllabus)
-GP essay outline
-Econs essay assignment

The deterrent factors:

Factor #1: FA Cup Semi-Final

Factor #2: F1 China Grand Prix

Factor #3: Lack of motivation to study

Factor #4: Anime, manga, anime, manga, anime...

I need a wake-up call of some sort.
But not now, I need my sleep.

Sometimes I wish time could travel faster. To give me the sense of urgency, and to free me from this closed space.

Just a song

Somehow this song sums up my current feelings.

It's a vicious cycle.

Challenge

The real challenge starts now.

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Nothingness.

Nothing much to blog about.
Been in a pretty slackish mood for the past few days.

Aiya, no motivation to study.
Want to find a study group, but no group to join. Zzz.

Anyway, J-music again. Hooked to these songs currently.
(You may skip to the last 3 paragraphs if you're not interested. I really have nothing much to blog about, lol.)

One Piece OP11 (Notice some Michael Jackson's style inside? Wonderful composition of music.)

K-ON Op: (KAWAII!)

K-On Ed: (COOL!)

Yup, out of the many spring animes being rolled out, I have decided to watch four of them: K-ON! (for the music and SUPA SUPA KAWAII girls), Asura Cryin'(Mechas and secret scientific cult FTW!), Pandora Hearts(for the dose of mystery and tsudere action) and Eden of the East(love story of some sort, I guess)

And yeah, One Piece is getting VERY interesting. Things are linking up nicely; Oda is a freaking genious. Unlike BLEACH which only focuses on action, though I have to say, this week's chapter is a tad saddening as Ulquiorra erodes away, after muttering some noble words.

And damn, I think the internal circuits of my modem are fried. Either that or Singnet is screwed up.

And argh, my remaining chatting buddies are enlisting in NS soon. More boring days ahead!

And for those who got A for PW, congrats. To those who didn't get the grade they wanted, cheer up!

-End of random crap-

Aftermath

LOL CK you damn funny la!

And some other peeps too. The whole thing(the hacking incident) was meant to be an April's Fool Joke la.

For those who missed it, here's the image of the supposedly hacked blog of mine:
HACKED.png (133 KB)
(Click for larger view.)

So, I conclude, SUCCESSFUL PRANK IS SUCCESSFUL!

Anyway, I've been chionging Pokemon Platinum since Monday, and defeated the Elite 4 on Friday. Platinum certainly has its eye-catching moments; its graphics and boss/legendary encounter BGM being top notch.

Oh yeah, Block Test finalised results are out [I don't ever bother anymore lol]:
H2 Chem : 64% B
H2 Maths: 60% B
H2 Econs: 56% C (after moderation la, before moderation was 52%)
H1 Phy : 72% A
H1 GP : 45% E

Rank points: 65/80

Quite ok la, though GP need to buck up. Econs is "omgwtfbbq are my eyes deceiving me?"

School is gonna even more hectic. Shall force myself to go for the Econs extra lessons.

F1 and soccer today, oh boy, I'm gonna slack again =P
Luckily there's only a few things to do this weekend(I think.).

Damn hacker

Finally managed to get my blog back.

Yup, it was hacked by some no-lifer who had nothing better to do.

Managed to find out who's the real culprit behind it.

I am SO disappointed.

I thought we were good friends.

Apparently, not.

If you hate me so much, you could have said it straight into my face.

Yet, you choose to be a pussy and do your attacks behind the computer instead.

Hais.

Why does shit happens all the time?

I'm losing faith in this world.

But yet, I continue to sigh and move on.

Sometimes, I wonder why I am so optimistic.

Sometimes, I wonder, does it pay to be nice?

So I've decided.

I'm gonna be evil from now on.

Yes, nasty and evil.

And to start off, I'm gonna expose the fucker who hacked my blog.

Got ya all. Happy belated April's Fool. =)

Harsh.

Damn, computer addiction is dangerous.
I'm starting to slack and fall behind on tutorials.
Although I've recognized this fact, I'm still spending the day on the computer.
Damn, I'm a no-lifer indeed.

But, this addiction is derived not from computer games or web-chatting.
It's more due to my state I am now.
I've been compensating the lack of social interaction by spending more time on the computer.
Yet at the end of the day, it doesn't solve the problem.
I continue to fret, sigh, and let my emotions get the better of me.

Yes, I do feel lonely in school.
As much as I try to hide it, I just can't.
I'm not blaming my class; they're all nice and good people.
But boys will be boys and girls will be girls; we will have different common interests.

How about the other friends?
Green lights in MSN aplenty, yet they're only there for display.
Trust? They've weakened.

The harshness of life.
Or maybe a prelude to adult life.
I'm seeing it everything right now.

Accepting everything as fate.
But I'm still finding the reason and purpose behind it.

AND NOW TO LIGHTEN UP THE MOOD,

Brawn GP has done a 1-2 in the Australian Grand Prix.
Ferrari's and McLaren's dominance is set to be challenged this season!

[OTAKU POST!]
(I think I should create another blog for anime/manga purpose. Maybe I'll do so for spring animes.)

ASU NO YOICHI REVIEW

Continuing the reviews of the winter animes I have watched, here's Asu no Yoichi.
It's an anime I brought up a few months ago as one to watch out for, but sadly, the anime didn't match up to expectations. However, setting up high expectations was a mistake in the first place, as it was only intended to run for 12 episodes.

So as expected, events were rushed, and they have to cut out many scenes from the manga.

The ending was quite anti-climatic and boring, with the main antagonist realising his mistakes after some powerful words by Yoichi (wtf?). They then proceed to fight as honourable martial artist, and guess what, he's easily overwhelmed by Yoichi.

On the whole, it's quite good considering its constraints. A decent harem comedy with plenty of nosebleeds. /heh

Graphics: 9/10 [Very good and consistent graphics]
Sound: 6/10 [BGMs used were quite repetitive and boring]
Storyline: 6/10 [Bear in mind this is the rating for the ANIME only. Read the manga, it's better. Character development not fully showcased. YET.]
Impression value: 7/10 [Yes, I do look forward to Season 2, for character development(Yoichi X Ayame or Ibuki), and more harem comedy xD.]

Total rating: 7/10

[OTAKU POST!]

TORADORA REVIEW

Toradora! has finally come to an end after spanning 25 episodes.

Well, the ending was kind of disappointing, it seemed kind of rushed and premature to me. Like come on, Ryuuji and Taiga have not even confessed to each other face-to-face and they were already thinking of marrying?!

The kiss.

Episode 25 was kind of plain too; somehow I don't feel happy for Ryuuji and Taiga. You know, most romance anime will either end up making you happy or sad for the main characters. Maybe because I'm more for Ryuuji X Ami but that's another issue. Maybe it's probably due to the anime's failure to bring out the emotions fully for this episode as compared to previous episodes.

But on the whole, I would say Toradora was a decent, heartwarming series to watch.

-Graphics: 8/10 (The graphics were top notch, animation quality was constant)
-Sound: 9/10 (Intro and ending songs were nice, good use of BGMs to bring out emotions)
-Storyline: 7/10 (Expected and rushed ending. However, plot development was good. There were good life quotations to pick up from.)
-Impression value: 6/10 (Doesn't leave much of an afterthought for me, and I have no crave for more episodes)

Total rating: 7.5/10
Additional comments:
-Episode 19 worthy of contention of Best Anime Moment of 2009.
The scene whereby Taiga cried and Ryuuji gets rejected by Minorin were deep with emotions.

-Yui Horie, who voices Minorin, worthy of contention for Best Female seiyuu of 2009.
She managed to bring out Minorin's eccentric personality very well. She also sung the anime's 1st ED and 2nd OP, of which I personally like the latter.

-Lost My Pieces worthy of contention for Best anime BGM of 2009.

OVERLOAD

5 hours of Chemistry is really very draining.
Even though my interest lies in Chem, it's really too much!
Information overload!

And I've been too preoccupied to realise that Aqua Timez has already released their new album, Utai Sarishi Hana (Distant Singing Flowers).

Time to do some sourcing. /heh

ny'AVA Camp

Phew, the ny'AVA camp has finally come to an end.
Pretty pleased with the turnout, with 28 JC1s (a record) attending the camp.
Although it was tiring, it was fun teaching and interacting with the JC1s.
To see them having fun during the camp, it was worth it.

Well done to the 31st batch of AVA peeps for successfully holding the first ever ny'AVA camp. I am amazed with your efforts; you have done some things what the other batches have failed to do. As a senior, I'm proud.

Well, the end of the camp signifies the end of my extended term in ny'AVA.
Some people ask me why I still go for CCA activities even though I'm a J2 repeat student.

The reason is simple: My CCA members are the only good friends I have left in the school.

Ok, shall upload the photos I took when I have the time to do so.
Right now, I have to start on my holiday assignments.

With a runny nose.

Damn, some teachers are just plain unreasonable, exploiting our much-needed rest time.

Convincing

Sky Chord- Shion Tsuji [with EL subs]

The future YUI !
And the song is quite meaningful, revolving around how we have to accept the fact that we are growing up so quickly.

Anyway, Arsenal put up one of their best performances I have ever seen this season as they romped to a 4-0 win over Blackburn.

With more of our finest players returning from injury, hopefully Arsenal would be able to play splendidly for the remainder of the season.

A true fan supports a team for how they play; winning trophies are just bonuses.

Side-note: I don't see the point as to why we have to redo 9 tutorials for Chemistry -.-

Career Seminar

Today's Career Seminar.
Wah, the talk by MOE sure fired me up.
The scholarships they offer seem tempting. /heh

Speaking of scholarships, I think I need to aim for one.
Times are getting tough.
And father's gonna be out of job in 2 years time when he's 50.

Uncertainties, uncertainties. Guess I'm forever haunted by them.

Anyway, lunched with Kenrick today at Pastamania.
First time eating there, since it has just recently obtained the Halal certificate.
Nice. One more option from me to choose from now. /heh

Phew, I'm tired, and bored.
Any non-addictive games to recommend?
Let me stress the word "non-addictive".
LOL.

Week 10= Tired

Phew, I'm tired.
Can't wait for the March Holidays.
Though there's not much to enjoy for the one-week break, having to go back to school on 3 days.
Zzz.

Ok, finally I managed to scout for a decent ORANGEY skin.
I shall link up everyone later.

For now, it's time to catch some good sleep.
(Not before doing Econs essay though, zzz.)

Sayonarra

Shit, suddenly I feel like investing in a good camera lol.

Cross country at East Coast was called off today.
ZHSS Media Club dinner was cancelled today.

Oh well.
Moving on to other stuffs, my old pal, my Desktop computer just died today.
Apparently motherboard's screwed.
R.I.P my old pal.
People can call me crazy for this but this computer of mine has a special significance in my heart.

Guess I'll have to follow my parents to Sim Lim tomorrow. That means that I will have to rush homework again-.-

And suddenly I realise, yesterday might be the last time I would see them again. Especially you.
Sayonarra.

Thought-invoking

Today was the release of 2008 ALvl results.

How should I put it...hmm scary.

Looking at my ex-classmates' grades, it suddenly dawned upon me that there's a reason why the A in ALvls stands for "advanced".

Here, hardwork is a far, FAR more important factor than how smart you are.

Anyway, congratulations to those who have achieved what they wanted.

To those who failed to do so, don't be disheartened; they are many other routes in education, don't let bad results stop your motivation to study further.

Putting that aside, it was great meeting 0722 peeps again. Really missed talking people like Gek Hui, Jocelyn, Wan Yin and the class guys.

After collection of results, Ben, Jason, Ah Yong, Qi Hui, Chin Kiong and I went to catch Slumdog Millionare@ Cathay.

My take on the movie?
Two words: Simply awesome.
The 8 Academy Awards it won ain't a fluke.
Good content and storyline revolving around poverty and discrimination.
Highly recommended to those finding a good movie to watch.

I am determined more than ever now. To emulate a nakama, to defeat a certain person, to finish unsettled business, and also to fulfil a new promise I have made to myself. 0824 and AVA peeps, GAMBATE too!

I SAY YES

Zero no Tsukaima Season II Opening.
Currently hooked to it; song fits in very well with the anime.

Anyway, Block Test results are slowly coming in.
B for both Maths and Chem, ain't so bad.
But GP and Econs seems doomed, lol.

Arrogance

I detest arrogant and egoistic people.

And seriously, what the hell is wrong with some teachers today, dismissing their student's ideas even before they could finish their explanation. And worse still, instigating everyone to LAUGH at them. And there are some too who are just UNREASONABLE, damn it, they think we are superheroes who could teleport from the 5th storey to the 1st storey in no time at all. Sheesh.

We are normal human beings, not Jumpers.

Luckily, my class is blessed to have such good and understanding teachers.
Ok enough with the rant.

Anyway, results are starting to come back. An A for H1 Physics managed to lift my spirits up today. And it seems there's a glimmer of hope for me to be able to pass Econs. xD

And +1 for hehe.

March

And before you know it, it's already the 3rd month of 2009!
Time sure flies, eh.

Spent the mini-break surfing forums, playing PES (as usual) and spamming episodes of Zero no Tsukaima.

Yup, Louise-chan. You are better than that Harry Potter. /heh

Tidied up my computer and did some tweaking.

In general, for the past 2 months,
Things ain't going smoothly like I wanted it to be.
And I doubt it will get any better soon.
But oh well, I will continue to survive JC2 somehow.

Though, I would like school life to be more interactive, even if it's just a lil bit.

BORED!

Saw this on Jason's and Shu Ming's blog, so since I'm bored, I've decided to give it a try.

Source: http://goldinuniverse.com/

Name: Zainul
Date: 2/25/2009
Colorgenics Number: 13264705
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have always been on the move seeking affectionate, satisfying and harmonious relationships. Your ultimate goal has been the realisation of an intimate union in which there could be love, self-sacrifice and mutual trust. It has often been said that 'True love is just around the corner' and - if you haven't found it as yet - you possibly soon will.

You are working extremely hard - perhaps even above and beyond the call of duty. You are preparing for the future and therefore trying to build a firm trouble-free foundation upon which you may base all of your dreams and aspirations.

Matters are not progressing as well as you would have hoped and you are having to make concessions
- but you still believe that your goals are realistic it's just that people can't seem to see your point of view. You know what you want but you'll only accept suggestions under duress.

You are frustrated and stressed. You appreciate the finer things in life but at all times you appear to stay aloof, critical of everything and everyone about you. You will not be carried away by your emotions and you refuse to trust anyone or any situation unless genuineness and integrity can be absolutely vouched for. Therefore, you keep a strict and watchful control on your feelings as you must know exactly where you stand at all times. You demand complete sincerity as a protection against your own tendency to be too trusting.

You are inclined to be too trusting and you feel that you need to be on your guard against the possibility that your endeavours and actions may be misunderstood. Too often you have been taken advantage of and you have been mentally abused. Now you are seeking a relationship which can provide peace of mind, where you can be yourself and not have the need to put on a false front.

Hmm... pretty much accurate.

Sian la I'm so bored.
This always happens.
Before exams, always got so many things to be done.
After exams, got nothing to do. -.-

Anyone wanna pool/movie/cycle/makan over the weekends?

BLOCK TEST OVER!

Kufufu after a week of absence, I'm back.

So Block Tests are finally over, and hell yeah, a short 4 day break.
[Well, not exactly, repeat students have to see the P on Friday for some talking cock session. Sian.]

Well, one thing I can expect is getting not-so-good results for the BT in general.
Hell, BT was a rushed affair this year and I mainly did last-minute studying.
And I was being a bastard for emo-ing about my social life crisis, getting over it only on February 18.
Furthermore, I was kinda distracted, still frequenting PPF and Facebook everyday, LOL.

Oh well, what's done cannot be changed.
Bracing myself for some Econs HELL though...

What happened shortly before Econs BT:

Didn't understand the question at all.
And after asking around, I found out that I wrote out of point for that question.
And it's only the 1st question.

AH DAMN IT WHY DIDN'T I TAKE H2 GEOGRAPHY INSTEAD?

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Zzzzz...

Tired desu.
Still need to cram for BT argh.
Someone needs to enlighten The Obsessed One that more lessons =/= more success.

Nvm. Tahan 6 more days.

Maybe.

Being in the library alone today, I did a self-reflection on the preaching my mother gave me yesterday.

And perhaps what she says is true.

You can't always get what you want in life.

Which makes me recall of a phrase I heard while watching some anime (can't recall which), "Things you want the most are usually unattainable."

Maybe, I should just stop sighing and accept fate the way it is.

Anyway, I was quite in a positive mood today, instead of succumbing to further depression.

Maybe because of the dream I had last night.
An unexpected visitor in my Lalaland.
Who told me to take care of myself and add oil.

I will strive on, even as a lone ranger.

Arigatou gozaimasu.

S.E

I was about to do some ranting again, but for now, I shall hold back.

And continue to observe.

It might turn out to be interesting.

Whatever the results, I should be able to distinguish between the real and the fakes.

You'll know soon enough, desu.

Depressing uni course requirements

Wah, looking at the Indicative Grades Profiles for admission to local universities pretty much scares me out.

For the course I am aiming for:

NUS Sciences (Chemistry)
10th percentile: BBBB
90th percentile: AAAA

NTU Chemistry & Biological Chemistry
10th percentile: BBBC
90th percentile: AAAA

Now so competitive sia.
Oh well, expected la, this is Singapore afterall.

Anyway, currently hooked to this song.
Toradora's 2nd opening:

Translation here.

Off to continue Operation SIOW.

And to add on, my best friend is my arch nemesis.
She's none other than my laptop.
Must...control...computer...addiction...

Confessions of a Mudkip

*** Author's note: Was kinda bored yesterday so I came up with a crap story in "Nightly (fictional) confessions" thread in a forum I frequently visit.

Confessions of a Mudkip

Yes, you heard it right, I’m a Mudkip. That blue mudskipper Pokemon that doesn’t look like one at all. I have no idea why my creator made me this way. Oh well, who cares.

So I was minding my business, slacking at the Professor’s lab. I used to have lots of fun with Torchic and Treeko, two lifeforms whom I considered to be my best friends. We would spend the time running around the lab, playing hide-and-seek and holding competitions such as who would be able to repeat their names for the most number of times.

One day, good old Professor Birch decided to bring us along for his field trip at Route 101. We were kept into some weird stuff they called Pokeballs, for convenience sake. All of a sudden, I felt an impact, and the next thing I heard was the bark of a Poochyena followed by the Professor screaming for help.

I wanted to help but dang, I could not get out of my Pokeball. Troublesome thing. Then, all of a sudden, I heard footsteps coming into my direction. I heard the Professor muttering a few words, and all of a sudden, I felt I was flung forward. The Pokeball opened and out I appeared. I looked behind me and I saw a young guy, probably about 14 years old, staring at me. Now, who could this guy possibly be?

“Mudkip, use Tackle!” he shouted. Suddenly it dawned upon me. My freedom, my carefree days at the lab, they’re gone! Now I have to follow some trainer around in his quest to be the very best.

“What are you doing? Use Tackle now!” he insisted. I initially hesitated, but looking at the Professor who would be bitten anytime, I proceeded to beat the daylights of the Level 2 Poochyena.

And the rest of the story goes like this: Professor was thankful to the young guy, and gave me up to him as a reward. Damn you professor, how could you betray me…

But well, maybe it’s ain’t so bad afterall. At least I get to fight gym battles and challenge the Elite 4.

But it wasn’t meant to be.

I was made to participate in Pokemon Contests!

EEKS.

And now, I’m being hunted down by crazy trainers who apparently have a weird obssession with me.

“OMG IT IS A MUDKIP! I LIEK MUDKIPZ!”

Gotta run for now.

A different perspective on Valentine's Day

Have you ever wondered whether Valentine's Day is rather an evil occassion rather than a happy one?

While couples go out on a date , singles are left to rue on their bad luck.

While people gather and have fun with their friends, people who are unpopular, outcasts or those who are simply unable to integrate into society for some reason or another are left to rot at home.

And when these people look at how others are gratifying Valentine's Day, they start to cringe.

Valentine's Day is seen as the salt that is rubbed onto their wounds.

And it hurts.

Frustrated.

Frustrated. Tired. A tinge of sadness.

Think this is going to be my worse Valentine's Day ever.

Would like to rant, but guess I rather keep it to myself for fear I might get flamed by certain people.

Ah,
But this has to make up for it.

Badass. Ulquiorra's release, that is.

and maybe this too to a smaller extent...

Need some sleep for now.

CCA Bazaar

CCA Bazaar today.
Got our new AVA T-shirt, which was more decent looking than the previous one.
Though, suppliers always tend to screw up here and there, but luckily mine wasn't.

So 28 people wrote their names on the list.
I reckon that only 1/2 will come, just like the previous years.

After the bazaar, some of the AVA peeps went to AMK.
Met up with Kenrick and Shang Ya and ate dinner at a nearby coffeeshop.
For the first time since ages, I had a nice and meaningful conversation with the rest.
Yup, I'm lucky to have wonderful CCA mates.

Still thinking on whether to crash JC1 Disco Night tomorrow.
On one hand, I feel like doing so because I want to rickroll half of the school population.
On the other hand, I really need to mug for the upcoming Block Tests.

Signing off here, I need some sleep desu.
Ciao~

I'm glad they still care.

Rozen Maiden

Wow, I can't believe that I didn't watch this anime earlier.
I'm really wols lol.
Chionged finish season 1.
Yet another fantastic anime, no wonder even the current Japan PM likes it.

I have been officially desu-fied.

Blocks are coming and I'm still not in a serious mood to study!
Which is bad! D=
Anyway, to juniors fellow classmates and AVA peeps who want past year H2 Maths/Chem/Econs practice papers, feel free to approach me for them.

Going off now to revise a bit, before the clock strikes 12am.

Ciao~

The moon looks wonderful today.

And tomorrow's Physics Test and I am so screwed; there's still a damn GP essay outline to do.

Hate Science vs Religion essay topics.

And what the hell am I doing here, I better run along now =O

Pledge

I, Zainul Ariffin, pledge that,

I will only use the laptop for maximum 2.5 hours per day from Monday to Thursday.
I will hit the sack latest by 12 AM from Sunday to Thursday.
I will start treating schoolwork seriously starting from 4th February 2009.
I will only use the laptop of maximum 6 hours per day on weekends (excluding 2hrs reserved for watching EPL).

Friday will be reserved as a free and easy day. /heh

Failing to comply with the above pledge, I will deem myself as an asshole, or the block tests will be allowed to screw me up.

Call me a nerd for all I care. Lol.

Maths Test

What can I say about today's Maths Test?
Hmm.

Damn vectors.

Now moving on to EPL Transfer Gossips.
"Andrei Arshavin made a last-ditch trip to London ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal but a transfer from Zenit St Petersburg looks to be off.

The 27-year-old Russia playmaker, who caught the eye in last summer's European Championship, was in place to undergo the formalities of the transfer if the two clubs reached an agreement on the fee for the player.

After being pictured in Hertfordshire, key figures in the deal said that Arshavin had left for an airport and the move was off, meaning only a late move from Arsenal would resurrect the transfer.

But Arshavin will struggle to leave the country with airports in the south east closed.

Arshavin's move was one of the high-profile deals being negotiated on a transfer-deadline day that has been complicated by snowy conditions."
-soccernet.com

Damn Wenger and/or the Arsenal board of directors. Don't they consider the long-term costs if we don't sign Arshavin?!

Asu no Yoichi!

Plot Summary:

A boy swordsman, Yoichi and his father stays in mountain training for his descent from the mountain. Yoichi comes to the city to lodge and stay with 4 beautiful sisters. A new more severe "training" regiment awaits him.

First impressions:

Asu no Yoichi has the right mix of comedy and action, making it a good anime to watch. Guys won't be disappointed with the ecchi and martial arts content, while girls won't be disappointed with the character development and love triangles. The graphics are commendable; hairs are properly outlined and character features are detailed. Special mention to Tsubasa Tsubame's character, whose cuteness is wonderfully animated.

On the whole, 8 stars out of 10.
Watch it here!

Obama-mania

Some funny crap on Obama's inauguration:

Alright, today was CNY celebrations in school.
Nothing much this year, basically there were only 2 performances.
But there was a Rangoli competition amongst classes, (we celebrated the Indian festival of Pongal alongside CNY), and 0824 clinched the 1st prize for it!

So, after a hectic week, there's finally a short holiday for me to take a break.
But still, there's a lot of stuff to do, with tests coming in the upcoming weeks.

But AIYAH, can slack a bit la for now! /heh

Taxi Drivers

I find taxi drivers interesting.

They offer different perspectives and ideas which are very useful for GP discussion.

Anyway, medical checkup today went smoothly. No abnormality detected.
Hontouni anshin shita!

And damn, I am growing fatter! Approaching 48kg already =0
I thought the school weighing machine lied, but it was confirmed by the hospital's machine too.

And height, needless to say...
*Classified Information*

Ok peeps, signing off!

RAH!!!

Someone. Anyone. Please.

1st week of school

So the first week of school has come to an end.

My thoughts and feelings?

Seems that I can cope well enough.
The teachers in my class seem good and promising.
Lectures are more clear and precise.

So my small class has a total of 19 people, consisting of 17 girls and 2 boys.
Still don't know them well enough, but oh well, it has only been one week.
Will get to know more as the days go by.

Generally, I feel good.
Though Block Test this year comes before March holidays, and that sucks.
But A Levels this year is starting later, 9 November.

Bi-monthly checkup on Wednesday, hopefully nothing unusual occurs.

Ciao~

Windows 7 is...SUGOI !

Awesome!
Nice interface.
Less hassle.
Hardware compatabile! (I encountered absolutely zero problems.)

And the most important of all...its amazing speed.
Bravo to Microsoft!

Anyway, 1st day of school today was nothing much.
Briefings and more briefings.
Anyway tomorrow is NYJC's Open House.
Fellow juniors, please come to take a look! =X

Bedtime Stories

A failed 4E3 outing [as expected] turned out to be pretty good despite the presence of only 4 of us[Si Hao, Shuqian, Jeremy and I].

As Jeremy was late, we decided to change our plans and watch Bedtime Stories instead of Ong Bak 2.

And I must say it was worth the money. The movie managed to lighten me up and put a halt to my anxiety, albeit for a short while.

School starts tomorrow. I'm in 0824.

Hope the teachers don't arrow me to answer questions, as I had maximised my slacking time for the past 4 months.

But starting from tomorrow, it will have to stop.
No, rather, it HAS to stop.

On other issues, I finally managed to download Windows 7.
Will try to install it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Kannagi

Just completed watching Kannagi yesterday and I must say it is one heck of an awesome short anime. It has all the ingredients for a romance comedy: The laughter value is there, a bit of ecchi content, and there were sad parts too. [No wonder Japanese otakus got mad when they thought the manga series was cancelled.] Wanted to read the manga but it seems the series has been stalled as the author is still recovering from illness. Guess we will have to wait for a while for Season 2 of the anime.

Particularly got attracted to the ending song of the series. Awesome! Haruka Tomatsu has one new fan. =D

ny'AVA Chalet

No mood to type.
Just let the pics do the talking.
