DC crochet away

Here’s the current Daring Cardmakers' challenge.

This week I (Lythan) am bringing together two of my crafty loves - card making and crochet in a dare called

 Crochet Away

I like many kinds of craft … also crocheting. But I don’t do it often enough to remember how to do it. So every time I want to crochet, I have to watch tutorials to create my little projects.

On my card I used a crochet flower as an embellishment.

Lythan liebt es zu häkeln und möchte, dass wir ihre beiden Lieblingshobbys kombinieren.

Ich mag auch jede Art von Handarbeiten, aber ich habe einfach nicht genug Zeit dafür. Jedes Mal, wenn ich ein Minihäkelprojekt starte, schaue ich mir dazu Video Anleitungen an und häkle vor dem Bildschirm mit ;-).

Für diese Karte habe ich ein Häkelblümchen gemacht und möchte es als Mittelpunkt meiner Karte verwenden.

DC Doodle, doodle, do

Hello, Friday! Hello, weekend! And welcome to the Daring Cardmakers' challenge.

If you've been following our blog for the last few weeks, you'll have 'met' Purvi, one of our Guest Designers - but did you know that a lot of the lovely cards she's been sharing feature Purvi's own, hand-drawn elements?  Well, we've been so impressed we thought we'd all have a go, and would like you all to join in too! 

Doodle, Doodle, Do!

As Purvi says: "Make your pen your friend...scribble, doodle, draw shapes/patterns, make marks...just go with the flow"

So this week, please follow Purvi's lead and add a drawing or a doodled element to your card this week 

My card consists of three layers: green cardstock, vellum and white cardstock. I tried to add stamped images and doodles to every layer.

Here’s the result.

Juhuuu, es ist Freitag. Das heißt: ich habe Wochenende. Und hier ist die aktuelle Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.

Falls ihr öfter auf unserem Blog vorbei schaut, habt ihr sicher schon unsere talentierte Gastdesignerin Purvi und ihre bunten, fröhlichen Karten entdeckt. Sie liebt es eigene handgemalte Kringel, Akzente etc. auf ihre Karten zu malen und fordert uns diese Woche heraus das auch auszuprobieren.

Bastelt ein Kärtchen und verziert es mit einem selbstgemalten Element (Rahmen, Kringel, Linie, einfache Form etc.).

Mein Kärtchen besteht aus drei Lagen: grünem Karton, Transparentpapier und weißem Karton. Ich habe versucht auf jeder Lage ein Stempelmotiv unterzubringen und zu verzieren.

DC Strawberries and Cream

Well … it’s not Friday. But I am so happy to be a part of the Daring Cardmakers team (because otherwise I just wouldn’t be able to craft at the moment … now I’m “forced” to take some time to do it).

This week I'm kind of continuing with the summer theme as my dare is 

Strawberries and Cream. 
 Since we've just had Wimbledon and it's most definitely the time for strawberries in the UK, I'd like you to either feature strawberries on your card, or just take inspiration from a strawberry and cream colour scheme.

The strawberry season in Germany is over, but I love to remember my favourite berries and what they tase like ;-). I was inspired by the strawberry colours and made a card for my wonderful sister-in-law (and mother of my cute niece). 

… and because crafting time is rare at the moment I just couldn’t stop there ...

Erdbeeren und Sahne!

Ohne mein liebes Team würde ich mir im Moment wahrscheinlich gar keine Zeit zum Basteln gönnen … daher habe ich wohl leicht übertrieben mit meiner Massenproduktion. Aber immerhin bin ich jetzt optimal auf das Ende des Schuljahres (mit 1000 Danksagungen und Abschieden) vorbereitet.

DC Let's have a summer party

Here’s the new dare for the Daring Cardmakers.

 

This week I’m still in summer mood and I want you to create a card that features one ingredient for a perfect summer party. No matter if it’s a pool party, a picnic party, a birthday party, a Euros party or a BBQ party:

BBQ (steaks, sausages etc.), sun glasses, a pool, lemonade, cocktails, a water melon, picnic baskets, all kinds of balls (to entertain the kids), colourful napkins, summer fruits, ice cubes, bunting, cake, a parasol …

 

 I created this cocktail shaker card … and I have to admit that after feeling uninspired for quite a long time I had fun with this one and I'm happy about the result ;-)

Hier kommt die neue Herausforderung der Daring Cardmakers.

Ich bin immer noch, bzw. jetzt erst recht, in Sommerlaune und möchte ein Bestandteil einer perfekten Sommerparty auf eurer Karte sehen: einen Grill, einen Wasserball, einen Sommercocktail oder Limonade, eine Wassermelone, einen EM-Fußball … was auch immer euch in den Sinn kommt und worauf ihr Lust habt.
