A Fabulous Read

It's not very often that I get the chance to pick up a book and read it. Honestly, I just don't make the time. I really do enjoy reading when I can find a good book. My sweet SIL,Lacy, sent me a book for my birthday and I finally got around to opening it. It was FABULOUS! I must admit that I'm a sucker for historical fiction and this book just did it for me. I'm an Arizonian through and through so this book was even more intriguing for me. So if you're looking for a quick read that was really, really good then check it out. I keep nagging Kevin to read it so I can discuss it with someone. Oh, and I'm always up for suggestions of other good reads.

The End of Harry Potter

So I have finally finished reading the seven book series and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Having read all seven books in a row I admit that I totally OCD on Harry Potter. Not only had my house suffered but now I find myself in Harry withdrawals. The only thing I can come up with is that I feel the ending was weak. There was so much detail throughout the series and I needed more in the way of an ending. I get that she leaves it up to the reader to make their own way of it in the end but I needed more closure after the big scene. I want another chapter before the reflection on the future. But what can you do though? I'll just have to venture into other books now. Don't get me wrong, Ms. Rowling is a brilliant writer, and I did extremely enjoy the series.

This is where I require the help of my fellow readers. As I mentioned before, I haven't read a whole lot since Kev and I have been married and this has definitely sparked my reading interest. I need direction now. Besides the Harry Potter series, I've read "Five People you Meet in Heaven" and "Tuesday's with Morrie", which I also liked. Please feel free to suggest some new titles that may peek my interest.

I'm Being Held Hostage...

by none other than the Harry Potter Books. My mom keeps asking me when I'm going to update my blog and I've explained that it is not on my radar screen at this moment. In fact not much of anything is. My poor children must wonder what happened to the clean house, clean dishes and the regular meals. Kevin is always giving me a hard time because I don't ever read (in the 6 1/2 years we've been married I can count two) and now I think he can't wait till I'm done and things return to normal. I still stand that this is all his fault since he got me so excited after finishing the seventh book. So five weeks in, starting book six, things should be back to normal in two weeks tops. Look for some fun posts here soon. We've had some exciting adventures and I promise to pull myself away soon!
