Christmas at Opryland Hotel and Nashville

Our Christmas present from Nanner and Poppy was a trip to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville.  The first evening we went to their Ice Park, an event full of ice sculptures and slides. Everything you see from this point on was all ice.

 In an igloo!!

After the ice we ate dinner right in front of the indoor fountain show.
Then, went and looked at their Lights on the Lawn Nativity Scene.
It was so much prettier than the picture shows.  Everything was covered in white lights.

The next morning we had breakfast with the Grinch and Max.  Burt woke up this morning feeling terrible so he stayed in the hotel room the rest of this day and the girl and I explored Nashville.

First stop, the Opryland Mall.  Hit of the day- nitrogen puffs
 Before and After

We look high in some of these photos but it was just nitrogen!

The Parthenon in Centennial Park, is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens.
Taught the girls some  history at the Dukes of Hazzard Museum and Willie Nelson General Store!

Went back to check on Burt.  Ella made him into a Merman.
Ordered room service for the first time!  When Burt was a kid, Mama Lou and Granddaddy brought he and Mylo to the Opryland Hotel and ordered room service.  He always remembered that and wanted to do it again. The girls loved it.

A few more pictures of the hotel inside before we left.

FOA presents A Christmas Story

This was the first play for all 5 of us to do together.  Burt got the lead as the dad Frank Parker. Eva Grace and Ella had several parts and Emma and I were leg lamps. It was fun.

The Parkers with the Narrator (Ralphie grown up)                        The Barretts
Ella's costume was my favorite!                    Burt and Ralphie's shirts were pretty cute too though!

Lauren, EG and Gwen
EG is the school girl pointing in the back of the students.

FRAGILE!  Must be Italian.

 A MAJOR AWARD
"Who knows?  Next year I might win the rest of her!"

Emma was the team leader. We would have all been lost without her!!

 FUUUUUUUDGE!

"You'll Shoot Your Eye Out."  Eva Grace and Ella both tapped through this one.

Higbee's.  Ella was a kid on Santa's lap. She had a few solos in this number.

 "Somewhere Hovering Over Indiana"
Eva Grace and Ella were both in this scene.

Burt also got a Red Rider BB gun as a souvenir from the play.

Ella was a hound that stole the Christmas turkey.
