Scarlett is 1!!!

Im not sure how its even possible, but Scarlett is 1!  This has been the hardest and fastest and most wonderful year yet.  We have so enjoyed getting to watch Scarlett grow and change and watch Molly turn into a wonderful big sister.

Its so hard for me to believe its already been a year.... one year ago we met this sweet baby...

And our lives again were forever changed.  Scarlett has been such blessing and answer to prayer.

Scarlett,
I cannot begin to express the love I have for you. You have become such a happy, fun, sweet little girl. You light up the room every time you smile.  I enjoy watching you discover new thing and learn so much.  You love watching your big sister and want to do everything she is doing.  She is teaching you so much.  I am so thankful God chose me to be your mommy and so blessed to call you mine.  I love you sweet girl!
Love, Mommy

Pumpkin Patch!

We made the annual trip to Burt's Pumpkin Farm this year in early October.  I love getting pictures with the huge pumpkins and enjoying the fall weather.  The hayride is also a must and Molly enjoys that.  This year, pictures were much more difficult, trying to get Scarlett to look at the camera and Molly to smile for real at the same time.  Lets just say there aren't any perfect pictures but the pictures make for perfect memories of this time in our lives.  Love these girls!

Molly loves playing with Scarlett's feet!

Looking for her perfect pumpkin

Best we could get...... love these 2!

Scarlett at 6 months

How could it possibly be 6 months already?!  I mean thats half of the first year...Scarlett is growing up too too fast.
Scarlett weighs 12 pounds 11 ounces.  She is following her growth curve which we are very happy about. She is still tiny but growing and growth is whats important.  She is wearing size 1 diapers and slowly moving into 3-6 month clothes.  She still wakes up several times at night to eat. We started solids this week and she seems to be enjoying them.  She has started to really laugh a lot and it is the cutest noise.  Scarlett is having more happy moments and that has been such a blessing.  Reflux continues to be a battle and I hate seeing her so uncomfortable and unhappy.

The second video is of Scarlett at feeding therapy....she is not a fan of eating.  She gets a few ounces in and then you can just tell it hurts.... poor love.

Swim Lessons for Molly

This yeas I decided it was time for Molly to learn to swim....so we scheduled lessons with the famous Ms. Autumn.  Ive heard so many things about this woman... she's scary, she's amazing, she will make your kid cry and she will have your kid swimming in 2 weeks. So we went for it. Molly had gone backwards in her water comfortability so something had to be done.
It was a hard few weeks.  From lugging Scarlett up the very steep driveway only 8 weeks after having her), to watching Molly cry and cling to me and then cry most of the lesson at first.  But...by the end of the 6 lessons, Molly can swim!!  She's no olympian and still needs an adult with her but she willingly goes under water and can propel herself.  She has a hard time moving her arms and kicking her legs at the same time but I think thats an age thing and hopefully next year will be even better.

Molly did amazing!

Molly's Week of Firsts!

This is a big year for Molly.  With no more therapy and nothing major going on we decided it was finally the year to get her involved in some activities!  She has wanted to take dance and play soccer like her cousins for so long.  She has been counting down the days til these activities start for weeks!

Game Day!!

Molly learned the week of soccer what was required for clothing for soccer and that did not go over well.  She hates the shoes and not a fan of the uniform at all.  Not sure she's going to play again after this season...

Scarlett at 5 months

Our sweet Scarlett is 5 months old! She is growing and changing every day.  She is smiling and laughing and so much fun.
Scarlett is still struggling with reflux.  This poor girl just can't catch a break.  She hates eating and is miserable sometimes.  We are still working hard with feeding therapy to get her to be able to take a good feeding with minimal discomfort.
Scarlett is growing!  She weighed 11 pounds 14 ounces at her 5 month appointment.  She is trying hard to hold steady on her growth curve. She is still wearing size 0-3 month clothing and size 1 diapers.  She loves play time and loves her sister.  She loves mommy and daddy too and laughs and smiles when we tickle her.  Scarlett is chewing on everything!  She loves her Sophie giraffe and its a must have anywhere we go.

Loving on Sophie

Scarlett is 4 months!

Scarlett is 4 months old!  This has been a rough 4 months.... I HATE reflux.  Poor Scarlett has really struggled.  After the terrible weight gain she had, we followed up with her GI doctor.  He was not happy with her growth or how fussy she was so he increased her calories more and ordered some lab work.  He also thought she may have some allergy issues and changed her to a hypoallergenic formula for the added calories. There has been talk of trying a 2 week trial of formula only which I do not want to do, so I have gone dairy and soy free as well to help. All of Scarlett's lab tests came back normal which is a huge praise.  The dairy free seems to be helping her symptoms some so we are continuing with that plan and we are going to try feeding therapy to help her increase her volumes hopefully and be more comfortable feeding.
Scarlett weighed in at 10 lbs 12 oz at her 4 month appointment.  This puts her at 4% which we are very happy with considering she was almost off the growth chart a few weeks ago.  She is so tiny compared to her peers.  She is still wearing size 1 diapers and finally completely in 0-3 month clothes.  She is rolling over now and babbling. She has discovered her feet... and they are amazing! She loves to grab them and hold on tight. She has some happy moments which we are so thankful for.
Scarlett is still not a good sleeper.  She eats every 3-4 hours at night and every 2-3 hours during the day.  As much as I would love to get some more sleep, I am so willing and happy to be up with her feeding if thats what she needs to grow!

Blue eyed beauty!
