Guilty

I bought a Minivan!!! And I guess the "guilty" part of this is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Poop

Really...I HAAAAAAAAAATE potty training!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY cant they just magically start going in the potty as soon as 18 months? We parents could use just a little magic in the life of raising a child!! When Garrett was 6 weeks old I potty trained Mitchell-it was nothing short of hell! BUT he did it in about a week or so, then full throttle by about a month with no accidents. Still-hell. I swore that I wouldn't potty train Garrett- well- ever. Until he started getting teased at school and wanted to do it himself...(ok not really that bad). Then my sister decided to train her daughter- she made it sound soooooo easy. So I threw the idea out there and Garrett went flying away with it. He did great for about 3-4 days....then.... well- it is not um I think 4 or more months later and we are STILL fighting this. He did it- then decided that he liked peeing but not pooping in the potty. Well I don't really want to jot down all the dirty (literally) details, but today he pooped his pants and I had a friend tell me that she gave her daughter a cold shower when she did that- soooo I tried it. It was so painful for me! Seriously- so sad- and he seemed to get the idea.

Then pooped his pants about 1 hour later again!
SO I am trying to do a least a blog post per month. My Client has her blog printed and it is her way of journaling- So I decided to copy her. From here on out- you might read more than see more pics of us. Anyway this past month has been good.
Boys:
Mitchell surprised me to say the least about 2 weeks ago with "This is my girlfriend Mom" while picking him up from school. I have heard from just about everyone that this is normal- I am NOT ok with this! I was so shocked, and totally caught off guard on what to say. So I just laughed and said "How fun that you have a friend that you like to play with so much", she responds "Well, I am his girlfriend, not friend" I put my finger in her face and said- "AHEM". Thats ALL I said! Lovely! The next day when I picked him up he would'nt come with me because he wanted to KISS her!!!! AGAIN NOT OK WITH THIS. I thought- What do I say? Nothing?? So really I didn't say much, and he bragged about it all weekend to people. Come Monday he said- "Mom I love school because I have a girlfriend and I can't wait to see her". I just said- That's great bud! I couldn't wait to see what happened that day at school after not seeing each other for 4 days. He came home from school and said- "Georgia is not my girlfriend anymore Mom" I said, "Why"? He said, "She picked someone else to play 'sacrifice' with her. (a game they made up...No idea what it is?).  It was as that point I realized that I had overreacted about it, and that truly he didn't have a girlfriend like I was thinking....UGH!! In other news- Mitchell is skiing like crazy! He has been in ski school for the past 2 weekends. His coach is so very proud of him. WE are so proud of him. We are so grateful that Avo (my Mom) has invested in this for him. This is something he can 1. do this forever- carefully:) and 2. we can do as a family. What a great gift she has given him and us! Now if we could just afford to ski every year! HA! Mitchell is also doing so well in school. I feel like so far school has been fun and easy for him. He seems to learn quickly, and retain pretty well. I hope this comes to him this way forever...(I will dream:) It is amazing to see him read so well at age 5 1/2. Proud Momma here!
Garrett has learned to hold up 2 and 3 fingers to show me how old his is and will be. This is his favorite thing to do. Being pregnant with this 3rd little boy- It makes me think about about how fast time has flown. Garrett will be 3 in April. He still seems to think he is going to be 5. And most days acts like he is 5. Mine and Ben's most favorite thing is when Garrett prays. He says the absolute cutest prayers. Mitchell and Garrett fight over who gets to say the prayer at every meal, and bed time. They don't want to take turns. It is so funny! I asked Ben if it would be sacreligous to film Garrett saying a prayer and he said no- So I am going to do that! Garrett still is my little buddy during the day when Mitchell is at school. It is so fun to have each of the boys one on one.
Ben is still busy with work so that is good! He is "TRYING" to train for the ironman he signed up to do in May. Yes, MAY! His is doing an Ironman on May 5th in St.George. I am due May 9th. I am pretty sure that if I make it to May 1st that will be a miricle. So he will head down to do it by himself. I just hope that he really starts training so that he doesn't die doing it. Although most of the races he has done he hasn't fully trained for them and has done ok- the Ironman is different- can't just show up to that one.
I am doing good too- no news is good news with me. I am starting to get the babies room done. On a few side notes- I keep having dreams that this baby is a girl still. Although that would be fun and exciting- I am totally prepared for a Boy- and I am buying little brand new infant clothes for a baby boy! Every time he moves I think about what he will be like...cant wait to meet him!

JOURNAL November and December

OK! So I think its a great idea to update my blog often, but fail to follow through! I'm going to do a blog of randomness.

November: November was pretty uneventful. We had school, we took a trip to the park because the weather in Utah for November has been un-seasonable, and December too. So we have been outside a bit. I had Thanksgiving at my house with quite an interesting crowd...haha. My Dad and Patty, My Mom and her Dad and his wife. It was really fun and relaxing for the most part. The turkey was not that great:( and the food is never as good if you cook it yourself. But over all it was a good day. Thanksgivings will come and go and I think with each of them comes some new memories.

December: The month started with the infamous Elf on the Shelf making his first appearance of the the season. That funny funny elf had quite an impact in my boys everyday life. Alvin (elf) made our house magical this season. Appearing here and there every morning. He was so funny. Mitchell and Garrett went to bed every night wondering where he would be the next morning. He didn't move every night, but he made sure to try. It filled our house with so much fun and magic. Mitchell became increasingly obsessed with other peoples elf too. It was truly so cute. We decided on Christmas day that the could touch there elf. It might have been THE highlight of Christmas morning. Before we got to Christmas, we did a few projects. We replaced all of the window's in our house. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! So pretty:) there will be a picture later. We also had a large amount of things that went wrong with our house. The list is always so big with an old house. So we kind of expect it- but still it never comes at a good time. The window's were just the beginning. We had to replace the floor in our kitchen, laundry and eventually in the bathroom and shower. The kitchen project was started on Christmas eve..(nice). Ben had to tear the floor up all the way to the cement floor. Once he begun, he said, "lets hire someone to do this" SO we did!! They started the day after Christmas...(again, nice). The timing is never good as I said. The hardest part is that I had to live without a washer/dryer and a an oven/stove. WOW! Did you know that its very hard to run a household without those appliances. Ok just trust me on that one. All in all the house will be in such good shape to rent when that time comes.

Pregnancy: Im 22 weeks and I feel pretty dang good! On December 12th we found out our baby is another BOY! I was a little surprised because I have felt SO different. Ben was so happy that it was another boy. Its funny, you think that you ruin the surprise by finding out before the baby is born, but we now we just can't begin to imagine what this little guy is going to be like. Mitchell and Garrett are so different so it is just as big of a mystery as ever! I have to admit that I would have loved to have a little girl. It would've been fun to have some pink and some princesses. I would have loved to have A daughter. BUT!!!! I can say with all of my heart that I love the color blue!!! And I love boys, and trains, planes, cars, legos, imagination, super hero's, silliness, loudness (sometimes), daredevilness ..(SOMETIMES)! HAHA! So very much to look forward too. We know how to do boys here! Best of all, he looks healthy, and so do I so far. For that we are eternally grateful. We are grateful to be having another baby! He is already a blessing and such a joy to us! I tend to have my babies up to 3 weeks early, so he may come in just under 4 months- CRAZY! We can't wait to meet him! And just to clear the question- will we have another child in hopes we can get a girl? NO! But we may try to have another baby!

Boys: Mitchell has been doing school mostly. Something new was that he took Karate. It was a low cost, low key class taken at Skyline High. He loved it! I didn't so much. It was a little exhausting. Maybe we will give it another shot not that he understands what to do so that I don't have to stay the whole time. He has also been reading like a maniac. He does such a great job. He loves it! And wants a new book just about every day. Ben and I are continually impressed with his ability to sound out words. All of this I'm assuming is pretty normal. But going through this for the first time with my first child, I feel like he is a genius! Its so cool! He loves school, he loves to play inside and out. Grandpa John and Grandma Patty gave him a Nintendo DS for Christmas and he LOVES that too. HAHA! Mitchell has an enormous ...I mean ENORMOUS heart! He is such a sweet boy. We are so lucky! Of course he has his bad times and tough times, but is a well behaved boy otherwise! Garrett boy! well, I could go on for about - ever - about him. He is 2 1/2 going on 5, or 24 he says sometimes, and other ages in between. He is so dang independent most of the time- he chooses day by day if he wants to "go in the potty"! This is very frustrating as you may be able to imagine. He loves loves to sing. He smiles that dang mischievous smile so even in the hardest times- he is cute. Garrett has to do everything his way, and on his time. Garrett is my little buddy these days when we are running errands. Bottom line- a sweet heart as well!

For those of you who are still reading my..ahem-journal entry, here are some pictures.

Mitchell and Garrett "rollerblading"
If you've seen "UP" you will most positively agree that Garrett looks exactly like Mr. Fredrickson. I am so in love with this little face!
Mitchell made this pilgrim hat at school. Could'nt resist sharing- this boy; I am equally obsessed with!!
Seriously? No words!
Mitchell completed his first Karate class and loved it.
Mitchell's first Kindergarten program- so cute!
Ben's best bowling score ever. 202 That's pretty rad!!
Garrett seems to fall asleep in the strangest places. This being some newly laid tile in our kitchen.
I introduced the kids to powder doughnuts. YUMMY!!
And lastly- SILLY PUTTY! True story: December 29th I told Ben how much I loved Silly Putty. 1st. It is a fantastic stress reliever. 2nd. I found it on the floor, on the couch and laying on a shirt of one of the kids and it NEVER left a mess or stuck to it. December 30th morning: THIS is what I found!!! I no longer like silly putty. I guess I need a stress ball. It was on my sheets too as well as Mitchell's pjs. NICE!
PS it came out best by scraping a butter knife on both sides of the fabric. I used googone and it didn't help much!

Halloween 'n stuff

It has been way to long. I'm just so overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I want to say on here! BUT it would be to hard to recap. So I will just (try) to keep up with my life a little more often. First up- Halloween The cute Trick or Treaters:) They had a fun Halloween this year.
First up- we had a party with my Dad and Patty's house. So much fun when everyone participates.
Mitchell had his first school Halloween parade, and I had to take him early in the morning for it. He LOVED it! And Garrett and I did too. SO CUTE!
On Halloween we went up to Park City on Main street to Trick or Treat. We did this last year as well and it is so fun. It starts at 3:30 and ends at 5. Seriously so lovely that we get to do that during the daylight. My Mom and Rick dressed up too. Always fun:)!
And finally- the cute Nemo
And the cute Batman
It was a great, uneventful Halloween! Next up. I am 13 weeks pregnant. Ben and I are super duper excited. This was planned :) I am starting to feel a little better. I have been much more sick on this pregnancy then my others...(I know, you think it's a girl) Well we would love a girl, and it would be very fun to end with a girl, but we would be thrilled to have another boy a HEALTHY HEALTHY baby, and if it's not to much to ask- a healthy Momma! More to come about this- but for now I will publish my first post in 6 months and eat some Halloween candy!

THE Garrett turns 2!

This is my little guy. I cannot believe he is 2. SERIOUSLY..2!!! WOW! He is a sweetie, he is a terrorist, he is SO different from Mitchell. It is funny how different they are. This is him on the morning of his birthday...that face is so perfect!

We went to McDonalds to play because it was very rainy and cold. He had a blast!

His Party was fun. We had a hot dog bar, and played in the yard. He was not interested in presents and he was a little confused about everyone singing to him. But he knew just what to do when he saw the candle.

This is not that great of a post, im so tired these days. We moved back to our old house. And we have been doing tons of work to both houses. I will post pics of the before and after as soon as its done...so NEVER! haha!

Happy Birthday my baby Garrett. I love you with all of my heart!!!!!!!!!!

I Want To Ride My Bycicle

So there is soooo much to post about these days....but I am just going to post about this.
I did my first 50 mile bike ride. And Ben rode with me to help support me. And it was.....an experience??? I am very very glad that I did it. I learned so much! THAT is the only reason why Im glad I did it! I will tell the story of all the crap that happened. The ride was so so soooooo unorganized, so as you can imagine, it was not the best experience....

We arrived in St. George on Thursday the 24th of February. The weather report was looking yucky, but some locals said that when they say it will snow or have freezing rain that it would not happen. So we were hopeful that they were right. I knew that I wanted to show up at the VERY least! So that was the plan.
Friday the 25th was a BEAUTIFUL day! We went and picked up our bags, and got all the official registration stuff. We were hopeful to say the least. And I was getting so excited to do this. Then came the first BIG mistake....the lady who checked us in told Ben and I that the 50 mile bike rides start at 10am. Just the 80 and 100 mile bikers would be starting at 8am. THAT was wrong!
SATURDAY the 26th. COLD as we walked to our car...(shoulda known) We get to the bike start line....ummmm there wasn't one! So my friend told me that we just jumped on our bikes and started riding. IMMEDIATELY I was freezing. It was 37 degrees. As we got to about the 2nd mile- we had to stop and ask another guy on a bike if he knew where to go.....there was no signs, no marks, no people who were in the ride on the road. UGGGGGHHHHHH I was soooo irritated! He said that there was yellow markings on the road where we need to turn. So that we did.
At this point, we could not figure out why there was only 4 people on the bike ride? And any one that we did see was coming the opposite way. We found out later.... So we got to mile 11 and I was feeling great! I was not cold any more (as long as I kept moving) and I was ready to ride. We stopped at the first aid station. And low and behold there is NOOOOOOOO water! ...... UMMMMMM OK? Whatever- lets get back to the ride. So we hopped back on and made it to 25 miles. At this point I am absolutely FREEZING!!!! I am miserable. I am FREEZING!!!!!!! I was not tired, or sore....just FREEZING!!!! did I say that? Anyway it took us 3 hours to do 25 miles. Then came the great news. haha! The ride organizer found out that we were told to start at 10 and said "oh.....YOUR the people my wife told to start at 10"! NICE real nice! THAT was why anyone we did see on the road was finishing..not starting. LOVELY!
So the guy had a big huge van and said...if your wanting to be done, we can take you back. WELL that was soooo appealing and I really really really wanted to jump in that van, but I really really really wanted to finish too??? So he gave us his cell number and said to call him if we chose not to finish. Well we jumped on our bikes supporting each other, and headed back. 1 SECOND into that I regretted not getting in that retards van and just going home. I kept thinking that this was NOTHING to be proud of....I have NEVER EVER been soooooo cold in my life! Anyway, I got my head in the game and tried not to think about the cold and just road my heart out. I kept thinking that I had trained sooo long and hard for this and I was not not going to finish. At about mile 35 I looked back and saw Ben walking so I stopped. I thought he needed help, or had a flat or something. He signaled to me to keep going and yelled.. "I'm done, keep going...you can finish" He was so cold that he had to walk to stop the wind chill that was in our face. So it was very miserable. I didn't want to finish without him. So I stopped and we called that guy. He came and picked us up.

So there are just a few things that, had they been different, we would've finished!
1. Wearing appropriate attire considering the elements.
2. Starting and riding with everyone else at the correct time!
3. Mile or even 5 mile marks...I would've known that there was only 12 miles left then I would have finished.

All in all.... I learned so much. I am glad that I did it. Ben was not so glad. But he was very supportive!
