Our Katie had a birthday. She is 22 and Taylor Swift's new song was her anthem this year!
You'd have a hard time finding a cooler person than Katie. She is gorrrrr-geous and smart. She earned a full scholarship - go girl!
She does really neat things like eats healthy, drinks a green smoothie daily and even bakes her own yummy bread. Which we sliced up for sandwiches on our day of adventure. It was super delish too.
She is athletic. We got to go to one of her basketball games. She also still plays LaCrosse and she is tough. Body check anyone?
She is a cute wife, with a cute husband and together they like to go on their own adventures. They ski/snowboard and backpack and camp.

Katie is also many other things: An amazing daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is loved.
Katie and Eleanor
I love her the most 'cause I'm her mom - This is what I put on Facebook:
" Happy Birthday to one of the most AMAZING people on this earth who just happens to be my daughter - beautiful inside and out, gifted with a love for people, obedient daughter of God, smart, crazy and sassy - there is no other, and I love you so much!!
Katie from the very beginning and forever and ever and ever, so very grateful to be your mother!
Happy Birthday!!! Can't wait to see you today!!!"
And I mean it!
On her birthday weekend we decided to go for a visit and try a new adventure...Cross Country Skiing.
This family have always been downhill fans - skiing and snowboarding and still love that, but this new adventure was a BLAST!! We hadn't been skiing very long when everyone started saying, "Why have we not done this before? This is the best and so much fun!"!
After passing the beautiful Tetons on our drive, we went to Harriman state park which is literally Cross Country Heaven! These pictures will show you why. There was a ton of snow, the sky was the most beautiful blue you have ever seen, the air was crisp and clear, the scenery was breathtaking, the trails were many and groomed to perfection - in a word it was AMAZING.
Brittany braiding Kate's hair - Love that they still do this.
The Girls
We weren't quite sure how we were going to pack Eleanor along and then to our delight BYU-I had this Burley on ski's that we rented for $10 - Can you say Sa-Weet! It was soooo great. We could not find any baby winter clothes so Brittany layered her up and then we put her in the Burley in a nest of warm blankets and Grandpa pulled her along all day. I think she LOVED it. We did not hear a peep out of her and sometimes when we would look at her she would be sound asleep and other times she was just looking around. This was fun.
Beautiful girl - Beautiful day

Crash and burn - This is Trent but we all had our turn except Kurke who had the Burley to keep him steady.
We got hungry and stopped at "The Jones House" which is one of the warming houses along the way to eat our lunch and we met up with our friends "The Smiths"! I know, pretty unique names right - Ha ha. It was great to see them and meet their boys. It just made our day all that much more fun and memorable.
Crash and burn!
Hi Eleanor - we see you ;-D
