Cute Little Guy

My sis in law posted this pic of our boys. Isn't Bryson funny? I love this picture! We went to the AMY in Mesa a couple months ago and had a blast. Soooo love my cute little guy and his craziness! He really is a good boy and I am so glad I'm his momma!

Weekend

What a fun weekend! Friday night Brenton and Bryson went on the Father's and son's campout. They had fun! Aimee and I drove up to Payson and hung out with my parents. We spent the night and the next day relaxing, fixing the roof on the cabin, and going to the car show. Brenton and Bryson came and joined us after the campout. Today, we had church, rested, and relaxed here at home. Love time with my sweet family. My pics aren't uploading. I can't figure out what is going on. Hopefully tomorrow.

Dancing

My kids are so cute. They love to dance. I'm not sure if it was Brenton or Judd- but someone taught them to dance like this. I had to snap a couple pics of them. Nothing makes my heart melt more.

Finally...

Here's a pic of our beautiful grass! Love it! So thankful we have it! Thanks to Jimmy @ Evergreen Turf... The kids love it. I have a cute pic of the kids running around on it (on my phone). Sadly, for some strange reason, it won't let me text it over. UGH. Someday I'll figure it out. For now, this will have to do!

Tired...

I tried to update a photo on the blog. For some reason, it isn't working today. All I can say is... TGIF. Hooray for the weekend! (Although the hubs and little man are going camping). Woohoo for girls night!

Manicured

We mowed our lawn today- for the first time. And I didn't even take a picture- shame on me! Tomorrow I will! It looks great! And we've stayed off it for the last few weeks, so now the kids have something to look forward to- playing on the grass. They ran around on it today and loved it. Aimee even said tonight, "I go play in grass!" I told her she had to wait til tomorrow. Love having a backyard with a little bit of landscaping. Still have a long way to go 'til it's complete!

Megamind

We just watched this show for the first time... It was hilarious! Have you seen it? Totally unexpected, really. I usually don't like animated stuff as much anymore. This was awesome!!!! What movies have you seen that beat your expectations?

The Fort

My kids are so creative. Mostly, it's Bryson's idea. But yes, he stripped every couch/bed of pillows and cushions and built a "fort". After some begging, I laid down with them for a while. And surprisingly, it made me feel a lot better about today. Don't mind my baby girl running around in her underwear. She refused to let me dress her after she had a bath because she wet on my floor.

Happiness

"I have come to realize that just making yourself happy is most important. Never be ashamed of what you feel. You have the right to feel any emotion that you want and to do what makes you happy". I've seen this quote or thoughts similar to it all over. It seems to be the newest trend, and I couldn't disagree more. At first glance, it looks true enough. But then, you keep looking, and realize that it is sooooo wrong. This quote is only selfish. It's screaming, "me, me, me!" Everyone deserves to be happy, and I truly believe happiness comes from within. However, I also KNOW that happiness comes from making good choices, by serving others, by building meaningful relationships that can last forever, and the list goes on. "Never be ashamed of what you feel". I'm ashamed of the way I feel many times a day when I yell at my children, judge others, etc. We should learn to control our feelings and emotions. After all, the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam. "You have the right to feel any emotion that you want and to do what makes you happy." No, you don't. You can CHOOSE to feel how ever you want and do to whatever you want, but those decisions may or may not bring you happiness. If you have a family- a husband, children- your happiness is NOT just your own. The "happiness" this quote talks about to me, is self-gratification. It is fleeting. It is selfish. This is not true happiness. This happiness does not come from leaving your faith, your family, your life- though many people seem to profess this today. True happiness comes from rocking your baby from sleep. From forgiving someone who has intentionally or unintentionally hurt you. From building relationships with people around you. From visiting someone who is alone. From offering a listening ear to a friend. From understanding that your life is not just your own, and it doesn't affect JUST you. The list goes on. Ok. I will get off my soapbox for the day. Really, I just saw this posted on FB and felt so sad that people are falling for this. The world needs more unselfish people who are willing to choose to see beyond instant-gratification and see what really is happiness.

Uplifted

Last night was the performance! Our Stake RS activity, "The 10 Virgins- a Musical Presentation" The last few months have been wonderful and busy. I really enjoyed helping with this. I loved all those I got to know and serve with, I learned more about our Savior and how much he loves us and wants us to come to him. The music was absolutely beautiful. I hope all those that attended were able to feel the Savior's love for them, and feel uplifted and renewed. I know I have. And just to remember- some of my favorite songs were Ashira's song- "Nothing Matters More", Gabriella's and Adi's duet- "More" , and Jessa's song- "Only One". The sweet cast of ladies bought me and the head director these flowers. I feel so blessed. I'm kind of sad now that it is over. Now what do I do to keep me busy?

I have to send a shout out to my sweet hubby !!! Out of 200 people interviewed and going for this position at his company, he was 1 of 4 who got the promotion!!!!
He is such a hard worker and he does so well at his job. It hasn't been easy, but he is doing it! Congrats, Brenton! You deserve it! We are so proud of you! We LOVE you!!!

So cute. I really do love my little man. Only problem is, he's not staying so little.

Sundays....

Nothing like spending the day with my sweet (sometimes crazy) family. We went to church, canned tomatoes, took a walk, and (tried to) read scriptures. I tried to take a picture, but my kids wouldn't cooperate. I'll try again soon.

Tomatoes!

This isn't a picture of my tomatoes I canned today, in fact, mine aren't done yet. However, I did do 8 pints of tomatoes and I am so excited! Seriously, I love canning! It's one of those things that makes me feel accomplished. I'm looking forward to canning more! My goal is to can something once a month. So far this year I've met it :)
What's one thing you enjoy doing that makes you feel accomplished???

I took this picture and couldn't believe my eyes! My little girl is growing up! I know I say this all the time... but it's true! She's so beautiful! (outfit and hairband courtesy of Grandma Pam and Grandpa Dave- thanks!)

Here's to Change

These things I know:

1. I feel better/ less tired when I exercise on a regular basis.
2. I feel happier/healthier when I cut out sugar/soda from my daily diet.
3. I feel healthier/skinnier when I stick to a more plant based/whole foods diet.

Ok. Now I need to set some goals.
1. Exercise 30 minutes a day, at least 4 days a week.
2. No more sugary snacks/soda until May 12th.
3. More fruits/veggies,whole grains- less meat. Try to eat meat no more than 3 times a week.

I was doing so well with these. I was exercising at least 5 days a week for an hour or more. I stopped. For the month of February, Brenton and I cut out sugary snacks and soda from our diets. We started back up. As for #3, I've been doing pretty good with that. Let's face it, I can't cut meat completely out. I love going to my parents house- and they eat a lot of meat. It's hard to get out of that habit. But for now, I think cutting it out to 3 times a week will be a great improvement. I have been having a green smoothie for breakfast almost every day for the past few months. I think I've missed a total of 3 days. I feel better when I have them.

I am hoping that by posting these, I will do better at following them! Wish me luck- I'm going to need it!

Easter- Park 2

Sunday was wonderful! We tried to take a family pic in the morning. We went to church in the morning, then came home and took a short nap. We then went over to Grandpa and Grandma (Cluff)'s house for Easter dinner and an Easter egg hunt. We had all 24 of us together. For dinner, we had ham, turkey, potato salad, jello salad, regular salad, rolls, and all the works. For dessert, Lisa fixed resurrection rolls and they were awesome! I love teaching a message with dessert- I hope it's a new tradition we can start! We had 10 kids participate in the egg hunt. That was fun! Overall, it was another great day! I'm thankful for the reason behind the holiday- Our Savior, Jesus Christ, who died and 3 days later rose again- giving us all hope that someday we will live again too!

Easter Part 1

We decided to do "Easter baskets" on Saturday morning- that way Sunday we can focus on the Savior. It just works better for us! So, even though we went shopping on Fri with the kids in the cart so they saw most of what they were getting, we put together baskets for them when they went to bed. (They slept in their shirts from the day before because we had arrived home really late and put them straight to bed- oops! doesn't make for great photos!) The kiddos also got a fun package from Grandma Pam and Grandpa Dave in Utah- and enjoyed opening that and getting all kinds of goodies!!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Jensen!

After that, we got ready, and headed over to the west side of town- Wittmann. It's almost a 2 hour drive from our house, so we don't get over there as often as we would like. We spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa Great, Aunt Kim, Aunt Cheryl, Nevan, and the rest of the Wilson clan. We had a yummy ham and potato salad dinner and an Easter egg hunt for the great-grand kids (Aimee, Bryson, and Nevan- we were missing Evan). The kids loved it! After that, Grandpa Great set up a fire outside (it was a little warm for a while, but then cooled down) and the kids enjoyed roasted marshmallows and we all enjoyed smores! It was a great day!

Frenemies

I love these two... I really do. But some days, well, some days are better than others. These two best friends have recently become enemies. Fighting, pushing, biting included. However, when they make up and give each other hugs and say sorry, everything is better. And it melts my heart.

Do your kids fight? Do you let 'em duke it out, or what?

Easter!

So thankful for Easter and the chance to celebrate Jesus Christ!
We had a busy/fun weekend with family! I will post pics tomorrow!

My Family

I love my sweet family! My kiddos seem to be growing up so fast. I'm so thankful that my family can be together forever- if we do our part. I am learning that I am happiest when I am with them!

GRASS!

I know, I'm obsessed. But can you blame me? I was stuck inside with the kids all summer last year, and I didn't want that to happen again. The kids have been stuck just playing in the dirt out back. Now we have grass. To lay on. To picnic on. To play on. To run in the sprinklers on. I'm so excited, I can hardly stand it.

Grandpa

My kids have AMAZING grandparents. Really, I think they are the best. Two of them live in Utah, so we don't get to see them nearly enough. The others are just 5 minutes down the road. They love all of them, but they really really really LOVE Grandpa (Cluff). Whenever we are at Grandma and Grandpa's house, they flock immediately to Grandpa. Maims asks if Grandpa will be there. Bryson always wants to sit by him, and eventually ends up on his lap. Grandpa takes time to play with them. He sits on the toy room floor and builds blocks with them. He spends time with them. He listens to them. He plays with them. I'm not surprised. He is a great father, but I think he is even a greater Grandfather. I have always wanted my kids to have a great relationship with their grandparents. And the way my kids and my dad are together, I know they do and they will.

My Baby is Growing Up

I am amazed at how fast my baby girl is growing up. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like she has done all her milestones faster than I expected or wanted! We have been working on potty training the last couple of weeks. She had been going on the potty for a couple months every little bit, we we finally decided it was time. She has done great! Today, I kept asking her if she needed to go and she kept saying no. Then, I hear her slam both doors to the bathroom! I ran in, and she was sitting on her cute little potty chair. She said, "Close the door, mommy!" She is going to kill me for posting this pic (when she's older), but she's too cute, I have to share!

I didn't want to move her out of her crib (for me, it was too much, too soon). However, she has done great! We got this little bed for 10 bucks at a neighbor's garage sale! YAY! My baby is growing up!

Backyard!

This is a pic of our new border :) We spent $$$$$$$$$$$ on getting our border in! Now, we are (patiently) waiting for the sod to be delivered Thursday. I really really really am looking forward to having a backyard. If we ever move, I'd like to move somewhere where the yard is fully landscaped- or have the money to pay for someone to complete it all for us. It's stressful doing it on our own, but oh so worth it!

March Happenings

March flew by! We celebrated my birthday with dinner @ Red Lobster. Aimee potty trained. She had an accident today (didn't make it in time), but overall, she has done amazing! I'm so proud of her. She even got a big girl bed and slept in it last night. We didn't have any problems getting out of bed, except for Bryson waking her up twice. I think he is having night terrors. One time, both kids came running out of the room screaming. Bryson was half asleep/half awake. I can remember my little brother having night terrors when he was a toddler. Scary!
Brenton is finishing up another class. He is over half way through with his program. I'm so proud of him and all he does! He just started a carpool with 4 other guys at work today, so that means he'll be putting half the miles on the car 3/4 of the time. Hopefully we can save some gas money.
Last week, we paid landscapers to come work on our backyard. We now have a sprinkler system and curbing in place. I'm waiting to hear back from Evergreen Turf (I used to work for them) on getting some sod. I look forward to having a usable backyard!
This last weekend we went to my cousin's (Mitch) wedding on Thursday. Kami and her kids and Aunt Les visited us from Utah. It was so much fun. We even got to have a Girls' night on Friday with dinner and a movie. General Conference was Saturday and Sunday. I loved hearing from all the church leaders and the Prophet. I'm excited to make changes to my life and become a better person.
This is life in a nutshell! We are blessed.
