A New Addition

Congrats to Jeremy and Lisa for having a baby boy on Monday! Zane was born 8 lbs 2 ozs. 19 inches long. He's adorable! He is the 3rd Grandson on my side of the family, and we are thrilled! I will post a picture later...

A Day of Thanks...

I was just thinking that I am not nearly as thankful as I should be. And today is just the day to remind me to be for grateful for what I have. So, I wanted to list a few things I am thankful for (some are serious and most important, others are smaller things I've enjoyed recently):
1. The Plan of Salvation
2. My wonderful husband
3. My sweet, happy baby boy
4. My family and in-laws
5. Answered Prayers
6. Good entertainment- movies, music, theatre, books, etc.
7. A Living Prophet and the chance to do what he says.
8. Mint Choco Chip Ice Cream from Thrifty.
9. Warm Weather in AZ
10. Forgiveness.
11. The whole concept of "Happily Ever After".
12. Being healthy.
13. Having our needs met.
14. Giggling and Laughing Hysterically for 15-20 minutes at a time.
15. Naps in the middle of the day.

You know, it feels nice to be able to reflect on a few things that mean so much to me. Some are smaller than others, but all make me a happier person.
I encourage all of us to be more thankful one day at a time!

FIREPROOF

We saw a wonderful movie yesterday! It's called "Fireproof" and makes you truly think about your own marriage and what it's supposed to be for husband and wife. Whether your marriage is almost perfect or you have a few trials, it's for you to watch. I was touched by it. The acting wasn't fabulous, but the message was. It stars Kirk Cameron. We highly recommend it. I am so grateful for marriage and the real covenant it is. Although it's not made by THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, the message of the importance of marriage and that the Savior is on our side is real. I am thankful to know that Families can be forever, if we love Christ and follow his example. So, if you haven't seen the movie, see it!

What's going on?!?!

Well our Halloween wasn't very eventful. Brenton had to work until 8:30, so Bryson and I just hung out at home. At least he wore his Halloween onesies. He looked so cute! When Brenton got home we were going to watch "Lady in the Water". Unfortunately, I was too scared 5 minutes into it I couldn't watch it. I don't know why. I've watched it a few times before.
As for exciting news, Brenton has a graduation date of December 2009. WE ARE SOOO EXCITED! This means, that come next December before Christmas, we will be back in AZ! He will be taking classes Winter Semester, Spring Term, and Fall Semester. We are so grateful that things are working out, and know that the Lord is definitely looking out for us!
As we all know, elections were this past week. I was sick to my stomach on more than one occasion thinking of Obama as President. I was very disappointed that McCain lost. However, I'm trying not to dwell on it. I have felt bitter and hopeless, but am trying to have hope and faith that things will work out how they are supposed to. As on Political Analyst put it, I'll hope that Obama "does the things he says he will, and not the things he's done in the past". I hate feeling like he's someone I can't trust. I don't want to start a big old debate or argument on this, so please, lets all refrain. As a positive note, Propositions 102, 8, and the FL prop all passed! I am so grateful for this! Marriage is only between 1 man and 1 woman. I hope to be able to raise Bryson knowing this, with all the confusion in the world. A friend of Brenton's wrote it very well when he said, "The Church disagrees with the choice of lifestyle, and doesn't hate the person period. Just like Jesus and the woman caught in adultery. He told her he didn't condemn her, and told her to sin no more, and basically told her to begin the repentance process. Why is that so hard for people (including some members) to understand? There is no room for hate in that position!". There has been much time for reflection on the subject of gay marriage. I'm grateful that we have a Prophet to guide us, and the Holy Ghost to confirm to us the truth of ALL things.
Bryson is growing so fast! To update, he loves sitting up. He can't balance himself completely yet, but he loves to sit up on the couch or on our laps. He loves to stand too. He is starting to enjoy tummy time a little more, and is great at holding up his head and building his other muscles. As for a new milestone, he has learned to turn onto his side. It is so cute! I love every minute I get to spend with him. He is growing up so fast. He is sleeping most nights all night, which is a real blessing!
As for me, I work 3 hours a day. I love my job with some 6th graders at a local elem. school. We went to a performance of the Utah Symphony and I loved it. My 6th graders were bored out of their minds, but I just kept thinking, "Someday you will enjoy this". I am learning all kinds of interesting 6th grade things that I had forgotten as well- for example: multiples, factors, GCF, Appositives, etc. I am really enjoying it! As for the rest of my time, I get to cook, clean, play with Bryson, and enjoy being a wife and mother.
That's the update for now. I will post pics soon, since they are on the other computer. We are counting down the days to go to Arizona for Thanksgiving. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
