[FRAMED]

My dear friends,
Philip and I are a part of something so exciting...and we need your help! We have become co-founders in a new and exciting adventure.  What is it?

Here's the write-up:

"Vulnerability is a common step when I approach a challenge. And the vulnerability is overflowing out of my eardrums.

We met over a month ago in the heart of B Roll Production Company. It was a fascinating collaboration of thoughts in a mid-morning meeting. Photographers, videographers, business minds, and editors met around a conference table set for eight. A morning meeting then became a late night office dinner. Each brain in the room had an idea and every artist clarified their vision. The overall feeling was intense and every mind became entrenched in the overwhelming level of potential and effort we saw ahead of us.

We had a goal of education, entertainment, and a vision of bringing information to fingertips on a weekly basis.

For who?

You. The aspiring and professional photographer who seeks inspiration. The business entrepreneur who needs a revelation. The introvert who hunts for connection. Even the model, hair stylist, wardrobist, makeup artist, editor, designer or artist who searches for collaboration.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you, [FRAMED].

Every week, [FRAMED] will give you an in-depth, behind the scenes view of local, national, and internationally known photographers. [FRAMED] is about people, networking, learning, relating. But it’s not just the photograph, it’s about the team of people that it takes to create it. It’s not just about how to snap a photo, it’s about the business, branding and marketing of what it takes to become it.

As the crew and I travel to and from multiple cities and states while bunking up in the unfamiliar nature of countless hotel rooms, [FRAMED] will bring a free educational show to the comfort of your own computer. Am I nervous? Incredibly. Are we nuts? Absolutely. Are we excited? Uncontrollably.

First show airs February 1st, and I assure you my friends, you do not want to miss it."

My favor to ask of you, friends and family, is that you can help us keep the show free.  Instead of making aspiring photographers pay to view the show, we'll be partnering up with sponsors and vendors to fund the project.

Thus, we need large numbers on our Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube channel to keep the show free for viewers so please click on each and become a fan or subscribe!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

From the island, to desert, to snow...

...he tried sledding for the first time in his life.  And it was absolutely, entertainingly, hysterical.  My brave Tongan father-in-law didn't hold back.  And it made me laugh so hard I fell, multiple times.  I have the greatest in-laws ever.

Charli obviously got bored and decided to find a friend to "hang out" with.  Watch out Philip, it's called "foreshadowing".

Thank you Paul, Suzie, and Maggie for coming to see us!!!!  We love you guys!!!

Let your heart be light

It was 3am this morning as I stumbled down the hall to find my daughter sobbing from sore toes.  Growing pains.  I tucked her in, sat by her side, and rubbed each individual piggy toe until she went back to sleep.   In the quiet hours of the morning, my mind wandered as I peered out the foggy window.  I wasn’t thinking of the lack of Christmas cards I failed to create.  I had no thoughts of gift shopping, or what presents I have to wrap.  All I could hear in our small, comfortable, warm home, was my daughter’s sniffles, my baby’s sweet little breaths and my husbands faint movement in the bedroom next to me.  It was at that moment that I realized how blessed I truly am.  I heard music, and my heart was singing a Christmas song.  Quiet, melodic beats of happiness.
My Christmas wish for you, my friends, is to allow your heart to be light.  View the world through a slower, lighter rhythm and you’ll realize that all we need is just an arm’s reach and a prayer away.   Have yourself a Merry little Christmas and consider this post a hug from the Niu home to yours.

My 30th in Vegas!

We decided a birthday party is much for fun with friends and fam you love...so we opened up the invite to anyone who dared to join us. And truly, we had a blast. We rented some weird, modern, artistic condo off the strip and partied like a bunch of crazy Mormons. :-)
I thought I would wake up to more wrinkles and saggy skin. I thought turning thirty sounded old, boring, and extremely undesirable. I thought when the time came, I would want to hide in a hole and be by myself while the world passed me by for a moment.

Well, I thought wrong.

September 19th, I turned thirty. I woke up looking the same with a new pep in my step. I was older, but no more or less boring or desirable. And when the time came to celebrate, I wanted to party in the most unique city in the world; Las Vegas.

My feet hurt from dancing the night away in 3 inch heels. My stomach hurt from laughing with friends, and from over eating at the Wynn buffet. My hands were happy while holding shopping bags of dresses and shirts to fit my growing belly. My eyes hurt from all the nasty images of nudity on the streets but gleaned at the Bellagio water show, Venetian pool side, and the amazing architecture up and down Las Vegas Blvd. And alas, my soul delighted that my husband was still a good moral man even when hypnotized by Marc Savard on a grand stage in Vegas.

I’m still truly happy. I’m still madly in love. And I’m still as immature as I was at 29.

Thank for coming to celebrate my friends, love you all!
