Watering can

Hello Peeps,

Miss H and the Mother found these treasures in the Op Shop.

 

The Mother turned the cute little watering can into an adorable pincushion. (She actually got two watering cans, she made the other one as a pin cushion too, and gave it to a friend - before I got a picture!)

 

The book makes the coolio-est prop for pictures.

Finishing School Quilt: Pencil

Hello Peeps,

Today's block is a pencil. Miss H found the pattern here.

The pencil represents Miss H completing all her home-schooling - which she did earlier this year.

Of course, I think this is the greatest and most important schoolwork that Miss H has ever done...

A brilliant little essay - A+ in my opinion!

Finishing School Quilt: Sheep

Today's block is a sheep - of course! I told Miss H that she definitely had to make a block for me to put in her quilt.

Stitch Love Along: Round 3

Hello Peeps,

Miss H and the Mother decided to join in Round 3 of Wild Olive's Stitch Love Along. For this round they had to do a stitchery from Wild Olive's book.

Miss H and the Mother have done lots of quilts - but only 1 of them has EVER had a label. Only 1! That is, until now.

Miss H has used several of the stitcheries from the book to make some labels for a few of their quilts. 

This cute creature is for a quilt Miss H made years ago.

This reindeer is stitched onto a quilt the Mother made for Miss H. Isn't he a funky blue reindeer?

Finishing School Quilt: Tea Cup

Hello Peeps,

Today's block for Miss H's Finishing School quilt is a little teacup.

It represents Thursday morning tea. Each Thursday for the last few years Miss H and the Mother would have morning tea with some lovely old ladies. There would always be yummy home-baked food.
Unfortunately Miss H now has other engagements on Thursdays so she can't go anymore. But she will always have fond memories of the ladies and the stories they told.

It is supposed to Spring in NZ but just this morning we had a heavy down pour of hail! Bring on the sunshine!

 

Pop by next Thursday to see the next block. It is the best one in Miss He's quilt. In fact I think it is the best block she will EVER make. I will give you a hint - it is the cutest guy ever!!!

Finishing School Quilt: Tulip

Hello Peeps,

Last week I told you about Miss H's Finishing School quilt. Today's block is a coolio tulip flower.

It represents Grandma who loves to work in her garden. She has worked at a plant nursery for a few decades and will sometimes bring the nearly dead plants home and give them just one more chance.



So this flower will remind Miss H of her awesome Grandma.
