Amy graduated!!

On Wednesday Amy graduated from preschool!! She was so excited about it. She knows that the next step is kindergarten, and boy is she ready (so am I!!!). We had a very low key graduation with just the moms and kids from the preschool. We ate lunch at Cindy's house, thanks Cindy!! Then the kids played and the moms talked. The kids also colored a picture of a diploma. After that we had the official walk for graduation. All seven kids had graduation hats that I made. I got the idea of how to make them from Heidi's kindergarten graduation last year. Super easy to make, because that is how I roll. Then Diane, who is an awesome graphic designer, made the "diplomas". Each kid walked up to Diane when she read their names, shook their hand and then put the tassel on the other side. It was super cute!! The kids really had big huge smiles on their faces. After the ceremony, we ate yummy cupcakes with graduation hats on them that Cindy made, plus homemade ice cream with awesome toppings. It was a perfect day. My favorite quote of the day was from Amy's friend Lilly. She told me afterward that now that she graduated from preschool she is a kindergartner and a big girl. Oh so true!! I am so grateful that Amy was able to finish preschool with her friends this year. She has grown so much and developed into a confident girl. It is nice to see how much she has progressed over the year. We love you Amy, and are so excited for you to be a big kindergartner now!!

The yummy cupcakes.

Amy last year right when she started preschool. Man, she has grown up fast!!

*On a side note. The only thing I hate about them getting ready for kindergarten is going to the doctors office and getting their shots. Heidi's was awful, and so was Amy's!!! She cried, she screamed, she refused to pee in a cup. I am so glad that I only have two more to go through. It takes years off my life to watch them struggle like that and have drama. Yeah, I hate shots too, I guess it is just payback for what I am sure I put my mom through. I was a BIG wimp when I was little. I actually still remember some of the shots I got because it was DRAMA!! Oh well, two down, two more to go.

Happy Birthday Alex

I am so late with this blog, I can't stand it. I was going to do it last week but Alex and Kelly both have colds and don't want me to put them down. So, typing has been out of the question. Anyhoo, Alex turned ONE on May 19th!! My little baby is no longer a baby. He is a TODDLER!! Makes me sad how quickly they grow up. Plus, he is my last one, so it was even harder. We had a nice day with my family and Eric's family over for a BBQ on the 17th. Eric and I spoke in our new ward and we invited the family to come and listen, then we had everyone over for Alex's birthday party. We only took video of everything, and still have not found the cord to hook up to the computer. SO, no pics, sorry. Alex got lots of cute stuff from his birthday. He got lots of cute clothes, which he needed. Plus, some fun new BOY toys. We so need those. He LOVES cars and balls. So, that is mostly what he got. His favorite was an awesome push train that he can sit on and it is a circus train. It has lots of sounds and music. He loves to play with that. He got it from Grandma and Grandpa Bingham. He did have to wrestle it away from Kelly. She thought it was her birthday too, and wanted all the toys. Poor girl. Sharing is no fun for a two year old. I am so grateful for our cute little Alex, he is truly a blessing to us. We are just glad he is with us and we love him so much!! Happy birthday my little man!!

Alex a few days old.

Alex now. He is a stud and he knows it!!

Our New Adopted Babies

Yep, we adopted 4 new babies. We found them and couldn't resist. Here is their story:

Last weekend, Eric was using the backhoe to dig out the weeds and get the yard started by laying sprinklers, etc. When he got out to use the backhoe, he noticed a nest perched on the arm of the backhoe. Upon further inspection, there were two newly hatched baby birds in there with no feathers and their eyes were not open. There were also two eggs that had yet to hatch, and one in which the baby was starting to peck through. I was mortified. I told Eric that he couldn't move them until they were big enough, and I knew that he wouldn't do that, because he needed to use the backhoe. My mother instincts kicked in and I started to research what to do with the birds. We could see the mom and dad birds were still around looking for their babies (the birds are robins). From researching on the Internet, I learned that if you move the nest, the parent birds will still try to feed them and take care of them. That was the best way to survive. So we moved the nest, and moved it to a place that the cats would not get them. It also said to leave the birds alone for 2-3 hours. So we did and we watched and waited. The girls were of course very worried about the babies and wanted to keep looking at them, but we wouldn't let them. FINALLY, the mom and dad bird found the nest and continued to take care of the babies!! YEAH!!

Well today, the girls were out playing in the yard, and found two of the baby birds had fallen out of the nest. I remember reading during my research on the web, that you simply put the babies back in their nests and leave them alone. So Eric did this, and the mom and dad birds continued to feed them. So we have saved these birds two times!!! That is why they are our new babies. I am so happy. (Unfortunately, two of the birds did not survive and the girls were very sad).

So, here pictures of our new adopted babies.

This is where we moved the nest. On the empty house next to us on the power meter.

Cool picture Eric took.

Do you think they are hungry??

Band-Aids

Kelly has been obsessed with band aids lately. Even when she doesn't have an ouchie, she needs one somewhere. Well, it has gotten to the point that today there was a band aid on her elbow that was falling off. I told her I would take it off and put on another one. Oh no!! She wanted that one. So, all day long, she held the band aid on her arm with her free hand. So, I had to help her do everything today because she didn't want her band aid to fall off. I did have to laugh, because when she would play with Alex, she still would not take her hand off her band aid and played with him using her FEET!! HAHAHA! Gotta love those kids, especially two year olds!!

Notice the band aid on her knee. Nope, no ouchie! (Please excuse her hair, she will not let me comb it. Her nickname is "Crazy Hair".)
