Autumn

Is impossible to remain indifferent to the wonderful colors of autumn, although in Portugal the summer insisting on staying a while longer. this is the season of oranges and browns, reds and yellows. In the studio I paint a bit of the autumn in my new pieces.

Relevant findings

In recent times the word relevance has become very relevant for those who sell on Etsy.
  Suddenly there was a change, and like all change, fear and insecurity knocked at the door of so many stores.
after spending several nights to read posts and comments in forums and blogs I ended up finding myself watching my whole journey since I opened the shop azulado.
When looking at my shop today, and remind me of the first images and pieces the change is abysmal.
one of the things I like about etsy is that to learn, the vast articles available on everything that involves the design, marketing and selling.
Learning this can be applied in various directions according to what is intended a business.
for me it is all about, do better, make mistakes and learn from mistakes, not being afraid to take risks and give everything you can. do everything with love and dedication.
I sell my work on etsy and design stores in Portugal.
What began as a dream has now become part of reality.

And this dream is only possible because I dedicate myself to it with all the energy, passion and dedication that is possible.
Every day there is an obstacle to overcome, a goal to achieve and the projects will slowly taking shape.
You can not achieve anything without hard work and dedication. It is not enough to make some pieces shooting them and be waiting for something to happen.
You have to learn, investigate, research, disseminate and foremost confront the fears and insecurities.
you can not do for fear of failure. only with the mistakes you learn a lot. And when things do not work in a way, there's always another way to test.

Upon hearing the concerns of so many shops in the face of the new search system etsy.I can only say that the secret is surely not to invest efforts questioning why the change.
if you ask me what is the form of tags and titles to the pieces, what is the magic algorithm that makes it all happen .... I do not have the slightest idea:)
But I think it's like everything in life, try, try out, analyze, and above all continue to work to create, to do what you can do better.

I discovered on Etsy wonderful creators. I found some great people, wonderful teams.
The human, and supportive partner make this site something special.

Iman fabric tiles

I always worked with restoration of old tiles.

Over the years, I've lost the  count of how many tiles I painted.

So I put to the fabric some paintings I had done.

And  these magnets were born.

A tribute to the Portuguese tiles!

Sending orders securely in paper envelopes

Last year, I bought a lot of handmade paper.

I have used this paper to do some packing, but meantime I thought of making envelopes.
I spent the whole week to structure the idea and  in the studio today I did the first envelopes.


The original idea comes from the need to shipped a  piece, and it has all the security possible while being beautifully packaged.

So what I did was use the paper made by hand from outside with a liner, also in paper, from within, and between the two, I put foam filling (dracalon is the name in Portuguese:)).

I got the sewing machine and ... here are the envelopes.

Handmade, a lifestyle choice

What's marvelous, behind handmade, is above all the history of each piece. What  exist behind it.
When I buy something made ​​by hand, I'm just not to buy something I need but I am acquiring a carefully crafted piece.
This simple gesture carries an immense positive energy, and I want that energy around me.

In my world

Sometimes work on your own can be very scary. There are so many fears and so many obstacles. have the ability to confront these fears and risk is not always easy.
But there is nothing better than being able to do what you love most. In my case I love create, I do not stop, there is always a new idea I want to try it, and in this new idea,another is born, and so on.
and sometimes when life outside the studio, give me hard times, is in my studio with my creations that my mind flies, and I freed from the negative and sad situations.
does not exist for me in the world, money to pay, the joy of creating.

I'm a moment of these, life out there, do not run the best way, but in the studio, the creations fly, and I'm completely in love with buttons.

Although being slower than I wanted, the new shop is already open.
A shop dedicated only to supplies with my ceramics.
Over the next few days I will add new items.
