The wedding turned out beautiful! Isn't my nephew Dustin handsome? And what a beautiful bride.
The weather was beautiful, and seeing the family was fun. But it did make me realize that I am very different from my family. I am what you'd call the black sheep in the family. I live far away, I'm not active in the LDS Church, I drink, I curse, and do other things that are looked down upon in the church. I don't have children, and heaven forbid I am divorced. So I feel like I don't fit in.
But the family did an extremely good job in making me feel comfortable and wanted while I was there (however, I could tell a few were walking on eggshells around me). Oh well, all in all, it was a good trip. I was able to spend some good times with my mom & dad, until I started cleaning off the back patio. 2 of my sisters and a few nieces came to help. My dad was fit to be tied. He's a mr Pack rat and doesn't like to throw anything away. But the patio looks great and it's all clean! If I had their backyard, I'd be out on that patio every night in the wonderful weather.
I have to say I fell in love with 2 of my great nieces. Savanna and Sadie. Savanna belongs to my niece Mindy and Sadie belongs to my nephew Josh. They both just took to me like I took to them. There seemed to be a special bond between us. I've added a few pics of the trip. When Savanna was getting ready to leave, I gave her a hug and she said, "I love you my friend". That statement made the whole trip worthwhile. To hear that from a sweet innocent 3 year old, wow. I was also able to meet up with my ex-brother-in law Joseph, his wife Annie, son Landon and ex-sister in law Angela. Boy was it great to see them too.
