Happy Birthday to my dearest son...

Yes I know...I have been busy cum lazy to update this blog. B.U.S.Y because I have been too preoccupied with my dearest mum while she recuperating over at my place. Alhamdulillah she's all fine now. She can eat & walk well already. During this period, I felt the bonds between mother & daughter has strenghten, Syukur Alhamdulillah. Thanks for all the well wishes from all my dearest friends. L.A.Z.Y because I do not know what to write despite having several interesting occasions.

Since this year shall mark the final year for my son to be in pre-school, I have decided to throw a mini birthday party for him with his classmates on Wednesday 7 March. While browsing through the Internet day and night I finally decided to whip my own cake for him. (Berkat titik peluh ibu...) He was so happy of the end result... partly because the boys & the rest of the family got to taste the trials over the weekends. End results family members are satisfied...boys became hyper. Thanks to Mummyhestia for sharing the baking tips...We shall exchange ideas again soon ya...

Kita merancang....Tuhan yang menentukan

Our winter clothings & our bags are all ready for our Beijing trip next week. Its left with our booking for a land tour to travel around in that foreign country. Kids were all excited for their snow experience. Haziq 7th birthday were supposed to be celebrated there...

On Monday mum complaint of chest pain and breathing problems. Early Tuesday morning after subuh prayers dad called saying that mum had to be sent to the hospital...they were all waiting for the ambulance. She was admitted into ICU and last 2 days she had to undergone for a major operation on her stomach due to some findings after an X-ray. Now mum is still in SICU recuperating...she seems to be so weak an semi concious. Our trip has to be cancelled...from the tone of the doctor they reminded the family just to stay put in Singapore. Many things could happen within this week. Her heart seems to be quite weak. Do keep her in your daily prayers my friends that she will recover well. As for our trip to Beijing we have to cancel. I don't want to regret in later days...hope my kids will understand this situation. Alhamdulillah, they are taking it very well. Insya'allah, Mama & Ayah will bring both of you to experience Winter next year after everything has settled....

Nong...nong time

It has been a very nong...nong time since i last update this blog...wow almost 3 months. To my lovely frens I am okay. I am doing fine... Yeah I am declared "maidless" since last October and still surviving... No I am not expecting the 3rd one... Being a SAHM mum can be challenging but fun at the same time...we do everything on our own and we feel proud of the end result. I am just too busy now especially with the boys around during the holiday. I have to keep them extra occupied so that the house won't turn into a "tongkang pecah". My boys have been 'healthy' too coz been eating proper meals too. Alhamdulillah, all goes well and hubby has promise to 'upah' my hard work with a getaway....Shall update soon.

Friday...

Hubby off day today. Had so many plans but with just too little time. After Friday prayers we decided to head NORTH to my In-laws place. Both his parents were down with flu. Cooked some Chicken porridge to bring along as 'buah tangan' and got some fruits & 1 carton of Jia Jia Tea for them. Hmmm... the flu virus is in the air. MIL was surprised to see us coz its Friday, we usually does our visitings during weekends but since Ramadan is coming hubby decided to pop by earlier to give them the Ramadan expenses for 'breakfast'. I'm proud to have a husband like him...a very responsible son to his parents & husband to me. Over there we chat & eat together. I helped my MIL to do some chores and left the place after Maghrib. We reached home by 8pm. Attended to the kids and played with them put them to LALA Land. We had plans, plans before we declare ourself 'maidless' by November. We want to enjoy the time as a couple going out late nights together. That night we plan to bring our 'baby Lancer' across the border to have a Seafood meal together with hubby's friends. A last minute plan to convoy across JB to enjoy a cheap Seafood a typical kiasu Singaporean who wants something cheap and nice. Met the rest of the gang at abt 2330 at JB and reached Permas Jaya by midnight...Thanks to the road blockwe reached there by midnight. The Restaurant that we had a booked a place beforehand by the organizer were cleaning up to close for the day. Alhamdulillah, seeing our pathathic hungry face they decided to work OT for all of us... great food with great service. We even had the chance to see some of them practicing for the 'REMPIT'.(tapi not the DARE DEVIL version lah) Left the restaurant feeling satisfied by 0230 with a droopy eyes...bought some 'Tongkat Ali Power Drink' for hubby & a can of Nescafe for me. We never drove out this late before. Luckily the kids were not with us...We reache home safely by 0430 bathe & off we snooze.

Saturday...
It seems that I just had my sleep and was awoken by the boys laughter at 0800 they are all excited for the 'PROMISE' we made before they slept on Friday. We promised to bring them out after Abang madrasah. At about 1200 I woke hubby up, hoping that he have enough sleep and decided to bring them to the ZOO again. Its best to make use of the priviledge card(Friends of the ZOO). We left home by 1330. i was fascinated by the quick change that was done at the ZOO. It was just like a few months back that we were there and now its all revamp again. Salute to the Singapore Zoological Managements. I think going to the zoo is the best way to burn my FATS. The kids simply love to run around then taking tram. They simply know the way too. Left the ZOO by 1800. We took a route that pass by Geylang to view the lightings. Had to rush home for hubby to do his 1st Terawih.

Sunday...

I cooked a simple Sahur meal for the family. Kuah air tahu kering & Cencaru bakar cecah kicap cili api. The kids had nuggets & rice. Its so tough waking them up, perhaps due to their exhausting day at the Zoo. Adik decided to try to fast too. But unfortunately both of them just did the 1/2 day fast coz tak tahan. I felt very bad for not being their to motivate abang to proceed for 1 day. Yeah, he didn't make it coz his becoming very 'pemakan' after his khatan. "Ok, abang u can try again tomorrow." Hopefully he does not do the Puasa Yok Yok in school. My maid had to be rushed to A&E in the afternoon coz she complained that her hearing has problems & she felt giddy. Alhamdulillah she was diagnosed with an ear infection. Breakfast at my parents place. We normally do that for the 1st day. Mum & I cooked Udang masak lemak & rebuk, sambal tumis ikan bilis. The 1st week we usually eat rice. So don't be surprise to see a NORMAL dish this week. Ok peepz enough of my membebel... time to sleep coz later hubby is coming back for Sahur and I have yet to cook for him...Ingatkan dia Sahur pat kerja coz I bendera...tapi takpe PAHALA Az...PAHALA...For U guy Selamat menunaikan Ibadah Puasa, semoga di bulan yg mulia ini amalan kita akan sentiasa di berkati Allah. AMIN.

D&D

Last Saturday, hubby's company had their Annual Dinner & Dance. I totally forgot about it & never even prepare anything for it...maklumlah not my own D&D. Duhhhh...I am now a homemaker, definitely no more D&D for me. Black dress....oh NO...NO. So common. Follow the theme...I can't lah. Last minute oredi where to find...lagipun I have got to cover my Aurat. But I am thankful that I have no worries about the hairdo...thanx to the 'tudung'. Just grab something bright...I always feel that one have to feel good to look good! I am no beauty but I am a beauty to my hubby cukuplah. So I guess the colour I chose for the dinner doesn't look good in picture...terserlah kemontelan ku sebenarnya. But what the heck...I don't need to seduce anyone over at the Dinner. I don't really know my hubby's colleague's wife too well only a handful but we were seated at different tables so yang duduk sama orang2 baru I kenal lah so tak lah sekecoh mana...time makan kita makan time game kita main game. But boring lah tak menang apa2...padahal gift smua best2...takde rezeki lah.

Sunday, I went to my Aunt's plc to return some periuk that were used last week. After that we rounding2 around the west side.

Today, my hubby request for chicken chop to be served for breakfast... Here I am wanna share the recipes with all coz I find it berbaloi buat sendiri dari beli pat luar....much cheaper... the deboned chicken cost only $1.50 per pc kat NTUC...kalo tahu deboned sendiri lagi bagus...SELAMAT MENCUBA. Maklumlah Bulan Ramadhan akan tiba...

CHICKEN CHOP

Ingredients:
2 deboned chicken thigh meat (bole beli kat NTUC)freshly ground black pepper (*optional)salt to taste2-3 Tbsp worchestershire sauceextra virgin olive oil /olive oil

Method1. Marinate chicken meat with pepper, salt and worchestershire sauce for about 1hr or overnite 2. Heat up EVO in a pan and grill the chicken pieces till cooked. Start with the skin side down first3. Remove chicken pieces and put it aside

MUSHROOM SOS
Bahan-bahan :

7-8 butir cendawan butang (sliced)5 keping oyster mushroom (blend)5 keping shitake mushroom (blend)1 bawang besar, dipotong dadu2 bawang putih di cincang halus,1 cawan chicken/vegetable stock (air rebusan) ATAU, larutan kiub ayam/beef (knorr).1/2 kotak kecil cream or ¼ - ½ tin of carnation milk (add some flour for thickening)
2-3 Tbsp worchestershire sauce
sedikit butter atau olive oil

Cara2:

Tumis bawang & bawang putih 1 min, kemudian saute (tumis) kesemua cendawan tadi, kalau agak kering, tambah butter sikit, jangan masukkan air since cendawan akan keluarkan air.Bila sudah agak wangi, masukkan chicken stock, biar mendidih kemudian masuk kan cream. Kacau sebati dan masak mengikut kepekatan sos yg dikehendaki.Last, tambah garam/ black pepper. Tuang atas steak atau ayam panggang.

Syukran...

Alhamdullilah...the ring drop on the very day we held the kenduri on Sunday. Luckily it drop before the majlis starts all this credits should be given to abang(Haziq) for playing rough with Shafiq. Gara2 nak elak from the kick he ran towards me & bump hard on me then he went Owwwww...the next moment I went to check on his 'birdie'. Alhamdulillah...dah tanggal cincin finally.

The preparation for the majlis went smoothly. as plan I have to get all the potong2, blend2 and tumis by Saturday. I bake 2 sweet savouries corn custard cream puffs & choc cupcakes yg tak menjadi. Thank you to my oven who gave me problem the very last minute. Luckily the cream puffs were okay. blended 2kg of onions,2 kg chilis, 500gm of garlics & gingers. Wow!!! This is my 1st time cooking for 100 people. As plan my menu is a simple one...Since nasi briyani is a favourite dish during Sunday(Jemputan Kahwin) which most of my relatives will be going I decided to cook nasi lemak.

Menu as follows:
1) Nasi Lemak
2) Sambal tumis Udang
3) Sambal ikan bilis & kacang
4) Ikan selar
5) Ayam Goreng
6) Otak-otak
7) Hotdogs & Fishballs for kiddies
8) Mee Siam Goreng
9) Pulut kuning
10) Rendang
11) Salad with sambal kacang

All the above was done solely by ME with the help of my maid. Then by Sunday morning my Supervisor aka Mum came to do the food sampling. She come to check if I have put enough salt, sugar and Asam. Alhamdulillah I have passed the test with slight alteration to be made.

At about 11am father's friends came to baca some doa for my boys & my family. 2pm relatives and my ex-col came. The crowds starts to fill up the 4rm flat by 4pm where I got slightly panicked...the sambal tumis udang ran low. Decided to do a quickie to tumis more sambal but this time a plain sambal tumis ikan bilis & I boiled some eggs too. Thus the sambal could be added to the eggs if required. I was so happy that relatives were happy with all the spread that I have prepared...bak kata orang penat smua hilang when people leave my house with a smile. All the dishes were prepared at the right quantity...not much leftovers enough to give some to parent in law & my parents.

My old friends encouraged me to do some catering. Some had even asked me to do it for their open house this coming Syawal. I am too green to start this catering business i should say but shall consider it if I have strong support by my family. Insya'Allah if God's will I shall consider that as an income but for now I wish to stay put being the Chef of Taufiq's House. Sorry no pictures taken as I was too busy but we have got video to keep all the wonderful memories...Thanks to the bloggers who have attended the majlis & my apology for not being the best host as I am too busy with other guest and kitchen....

We are big boys now....

Alhamdulillah... the boys have finally asked me to send them for 'khatan'. I was too 'green' when I had my elder boy, never thought it will be more easier to do it when his a baby, furthermore his kind of sickly as a baby. He often got bronchitis...thus after having the 2nd boy, I just wanna both of them to 'khatan' when they are big enough to understand what khatan is. Just in case the Ustaz or Ustazah ask they will know whats its all about. Furthermore, i'm very mean, i told my hubby that its good for son to know what the pain of "berkhatan" is like just like the pain every mum has to go through during labour. At least both sexes know the meaning of pain in life....(*evil grin)

The day Malaysia celebrate their National Day...both my sons were send to Crescent Clinic for their 'khatan'. It was done by Dr Tahir. Heard that he does things very fast. Before we left for home the boys were all excited but the moment we were at Eunos junction, their expression change. I knew the butterflies are starting to flutter at that moment. So I started my story about my childhood memories living at Eunos when I was little & how the neighbour's kids are like sistas & brothers. The moment we stepped into the clinic the boys were told to answer the nature's call, when we were in the toilet both their faces changed from the smiling faces it changes to a worried face. At this point, i was as scared...scared not because i fear the pain they will face but scared if they back off this very moment. So when the elder bro (Haziq) was called in, both me & hubby entered the room, i could see all the equipments but was chased out as soon as the boy lay down on the bed. I held his hands tight & say that he will be a big boy soon and left the room feeling sober. Indeed the doctor was fast...about 10 minutes later Haziq was out. Shafiq, went in soon after without us knowing co both me & hubby were cheering on him. We didn't realise the little one has actually went into the room all by himself without us accompanying him. 10 minutes later he came out smiling not a single tear could be seen on his eyes...everyone including the nurses were surprised to see him smiling and laughing. Along our trip home, abang was complaining of the pain in the car. We just ignored (which is bad but we want him to be braver than adik...) Adik were teasing him but soon abang kept quiet. Upon reaching home both the grandparents were around cheering the boys...but Haziq soon starts to cry...he cried so loudly that i felt something is not right coz he has a strong pain treshold. So I tried to comfort him...to my surprised blood came gushing out from the wound... I took a roll of toilet paper & start to dab on it...but the blood flow just can't stop flowing. So I called the clinic to see if its normal but was told to bring my son down immediately....Thank god...it was still early this happen the clinic is still open. Got my hubb to carry the 30kg boy to the clinic with blood still trickling down and we got immediate attention. I could hear my son screaming in pain...but both me & hubb once again were not allowed to enter. I was trembling by now, I was worried to the max. I was worried for my boy. A few minutes later I could not hear his cries...I asked the nurse what will the doctor do & what actually causes it. She then told me that the ring actually does not fit well into Haziq's penies that is why it bleeds. A man next to me heard it & said big build boys usually should be stiched instead. Right after I ended the conversation Haziq came out smiling...I was relieve to see those smile again. Alhamdulillah by the next day he was all well and starts to move about well. But I rather keep him immobile coz I don't want him to injured himself...I mean themselves. they were treated like a king...

Gosh, what a long entry!!! Its such a memorable experienced that I think I should blog this. For those mummies who have not 'khatan' their boys, I should say...do so when the boys are really ready. This will give us lesser stress. For me since both were done at the same time I felt its not that difficult after all coz they will feel inferior among themselve if they want to be cranky. This is just an opinion for sharing...Shall blog again once the Majlis kesyukar on Sunday is over. Right now I have lots to prepare as I will do the cooking all by myself!!! Anyone out there wanna help???
