New Website

Check out our new family website: It's My Life

I am still in the process of finishing it, so don't expect something extraordinary. Let me know what you think!

Ashlyn's Kindergarten Graduation

I'm so glad today is over! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm so glad that school is out for the summer! Today was Ashlyn's last day of school and her kindergarten graduation. I have to tell you that (again) I had to fight back the tears! What is wrong with me?!? Who cries at their child's kindergarten graduation?!? Anyways, it was a real struggle for me to control my emotions, but I did it!This year they learned about butterflies and they got to watch the life cycle from beginning to end (caterpillar - butterfly). Ashlyn also gave a report on butterflies. So today each kid in her class got a butterfly and was able to release it after the graduation. It started to rain and she was worried that her butterfly would get wet, so she kept it and brought it home and released it in our yard.I think the reason I'm having such a hard time with all this graduation stuff is because it's becoming more evident that my children are growing up....and fast! Pretty soon my kids won't like me or want to just snuggle up with me...or talk to me. I remember being that way with my parents, and I hope I can do something different so my children won't be like that. I'm just not sure what that is. Any suggestions???

Am I Living in a Chevy Commercial?

Aaron recently got a new car...it's a 2006 Chevy Malibu. It's such a nice car and so pretty (although he thinks it's a "family car" and not a sporty, cool car). Anyways, since we've been married we've owned 1-Chevy Silverado (pickup), 2-Chevy Tahoe, 3-Chevy Impala, 4-Chevy Venture (van...currently own), 5-Chevy Malibu (2002-Cale's car), 6-Chevy Malibu (2006...currently own). Looks like we are a Chevy family!

7th Wedding Anniversary

This past Saturday was our 7th wedding anniversary. Are you sure it's only been 7 years!?! Just kidding....when I think back, I remember the excitement, anticipation, nerves, and complete happiness that surrounded that day. Everything was perfect! We got married in the Portland, OR temple (the one I'd always wanted to be married in), the weather was GORGEOUS, our family and friends were there and I was marrying my sweetheart and best friend.

It's 7 years later and we still love each other (at least most of the time) and we have 4 wonderful children that keep us laughing. I love you baby!

P.S. I'd put up some wedding photos, but I don't want to have to dig for them in my storage unit. When I find them, I'll put them up.

Aaron's 10 Year High School Reunion

This August is Aaron's 10 year high school reunion! Neither of us can believe it! I can't believe that 10 years ago I was sitting at Esser Field watching Aaron get his diploma and hoping I would be the first one to hug him afterwards....but instead...Mikaela stole it! Just kidding!

Anyways, we are wondering who is planning on going. We have a busy summer, and are planning on being in Sunriver, OR the day after, but if the majority of you are going, we'll try to make it. Anyways, just wanted to start making plans. Let us know!

Kaden's 3rd Birthday!

Kaden turned 3 on May 20th, so yesterday we had a little party for him. I just can't believe how old my "little monster" is getting. Even though we call him a monster, he really is my sweetheart.

Anyways, we got him a little bike that looks like a motorcycle and a helmet. He also got a camera, bubble maker (thanks Merilee!) and some money. It was so fun watching him get so excited about everything. The look on his face when he saw his "motorcycle" was just priceless! What a great day!

Morgan's Preschool Graduation

Morgan graduated from preschool yesterday. I'm not sure who started all these graduations, but personally I think it's a little much. Anyways, Morgan was super excited, UNTIL she had to stand in front of everyone. Anyways, after a little bribery from me (doughnuts) she couldn't stop smiling. I'm glad school is over!

Weekend Off in Boise

This past weekend the kids and I went to Boise to visit Aaron. Aaron had been there since Wednesday on a business trip and would be there for 1 week, so we thought it would be fun to get out of Rexburg for a few days and spend some time with Aaron. It was so nice to finally escape Rexburg! It was nice and hot (90ยบ+) and we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather by going to the zoo and Discovery (Science) Center.

I've decided that I do really well on vacation. I can relax and enjoy my family instead of worrying about cleaning my house, making meals, getting kids off to school, etc. I am a much nicer mom. It was so nice to eat out every meal. All I had to do was decide where and what to eat....I didn't have to make it or clean it up. While we were out of the hotel, someone would come clean our room and make our beds. You just can't beat that!

So, here's the conclusion that I've come to: We either need to be on a permanent vacation, OR I need a personal chef and maid!

P.S. Thanks Deb for letting us come visit. It was so much fun seeing you and letting the kids play. They kept asking me when they could go back to play with "their friends".

Big Weekend!

This last weekend we blessed Peyton in church. Aaron's parents and sister (and kids) came, along with my parents all from Washington. It was so nice to have family in town. They kept us busy from Thursday until Monday. The highlights were going to the zoo with my parents, going to Leo's Place with Aaron's family, swimming, swimming, swimming, celebrating Ashlyn's birthday....and best of all...just visiting and hanging out. The kids got to play with their cousins from "Walla Walla, Washington" (they love to say that) and were very sad to see them leave. They are already counting down the days until we get to go visit (32 days!).

THANKS to our family who traveled such a long way for this special occasion. We love you!
