The weekend begins

Come listen to living prophets
I love General Conference weekends! I'm so excited for tomorrow.  Besides the fact that I have to teach a Zumba class in the middle of it that more than likely will have 2 or less people in it and I'll turn around and come right home.  If you're reading this and you're in Teton Valley, please follow my bad example and skip the first session of conference to come do Zumba and then go home, click here, and catch up on what you missed :) Happy conferencing.

Happy Mommy moments-in pictures

Yesterday I got to the grocery check out line with Jade with these items in my cart, plus some milk and one or two other necessities.

The man checking out in front of us was loaded up with very small-portioned, organic, healthy no-good food.  I came very close to mentioning that this was what happens when you shop with a 4 year old, right before HIS 4 year old ran around the corner and grabbed onto his leg.  So I guess I can't use Jade as my excuse.

My excuse will always just be "I have twins, don't judge me".

"Thanks Mom! You are so awesome and perfect!" It may not be what she said, but its what she's thinking :)

And here's what we made with all the junk food from pic #1

Jadisms™

Funny things Jade has said in the last 24 hours:
•"I don't have any problem with that" (in response to me saying something about the internet being slow)
•"Don't worry, its just loading" (about 2 minutes later)
•"Oh you've got to be KIDding me!" (I have no idea why she said this or what it was about)
•(What I woke up to this morning) whispering "Mommy, do you want me to play quietly in my room?"
•(Following a gibberish-style word) "Its Chinese, it means run"

All I can say is I've been smiling all week non stop and my cheeks hurt.  This is new for me.  It must be in the water, or have something to do with Time Out For Women which I went to last weekend.  I'll post about that later.  This was more important.

Can't help myself

My mom told my sister that she wouldn't share this with anyone until she was told that she could, but I can't help it, I just have to get it out there. Wow, what a talented sister I have!

Music, Lyrics, vocals, back up vocals, and accompaniment by Daryn Blake.

I just can't get it out of my head! Go here for Daryn's facebook page and "like" her and download her song under music :)

Bedtime talk about the important things

Jade: (after organizing her stuffed animals on her bed) I only have to have some toys.  Not all the toys.  Not everything in the stores.  Only some of the things, and the boys can have some things, and you and daddy can have some things.  Not all of the restaurant things, and all of the domestic things, just some.
{Yes, she really said domestic, I couldn't make this stuff up}

Me: Domestic? Where did you learn that word?

Jade: (smiling sheepishly and not answering)

Me: All we really need is each other, right?

Jade: Yes, just each other.

On that note, some of the important things on my mind right now...

My sweet Everest isn't feeling well today :( The only good thing about this is how cuddly he is when he willingly climbs up in my lap and stays there.
 Words Calder can say now...Hat
 and Clap ("cap")
Aaron hung my new frame I made, even though he dislikes that we have girly ribbon in our bedroom now.  He is the best.
I am still the official unofficial activities committee chairperson for the Tetonia 2nd ward.  Yesterday I threw a wonderful party that I'm pretty proud of (thanks Sharon for the auction idea).  These were the bills we handed out to everyone to use for bidding on donated items.  Thank you to Dan Burr for drawing the picture of Bishop Berry :) It was a huge hit.

And thanks to Aaron (for his Teton trivia expertise) we won free babysitting by our neighbor Samantha, and a free piano lesson for Jade by our friend Whitney B.

Not to mention almost all of our snow is gone now, replaced by a raging river that surrounds our house, but who cares! The sun has been shining and 40 degrees has never felt so good.

Kids and crafts

I try to push a little of the guilt of letting our kids be couch potatoes away when I manage to get some really cute pictures of them watching movies.

Craft day project #1: Frame for wedding pics. 6 years later.
Project #2: Spring chick (maybe a little premature, see this post)

Things to brighten my winter

Little snow bunnies

Baby Uggs make me smile :) 11 year old Uggs (on the right) sort of make me smile too.
We (and by we I mean Aaron) get to make the coolest snow forts at our house due to the 5 foot high snow drifts.
Driving to class early one morning I saw this moose walking down the middle of the road. Yes we have moose walking down our roads.  As soon as he saw I was coming he tried to run to the side of the road but he was slipping all over :( He was really cute. I wish I could get a better picture. This morning I saw at least 6 deer.

Look what Calder can finally do
And Jade
This is a common reaction to the sound of the bath water starting.  Except for Everest throwing himself into the tub, that's new.

Redemption

For those of you who missed the season finale of Glee, or decided to stop watching it altogether like I did, you should see my two favorite numbers.  The show definitely redeemed itself in the finale, in my opinion.
