Good day

So today I'm at the store, spending what would have been an obscene amount of money on formula if it weren't for WIC. I also needed to restock our empty fridge and pantry.  My cart was literally overflowing and I was a little nervous to get to the checkout counter.  But then I ran into a wonderful friend/neighbor, who handed me a grocery store gift card and practically ran away so I couldn't give it back to her.  How did she know? Here were the results of my trip:

WIC item total: $190.53
Remaining groceries: $106.11
For a total of: $296.64

But what did I pay?

$6.11!

What?? Yes, my neighbor gave me $100 gift card.  WIC paid for the rest.  And now I'm not crying over the thousands of dollars we will have to pay in hospital bills because I know that somehow we will make it work.  Because there are amazing people in the world.

I have learned so much about service and compassion from this woman.  I doubt that I have made nearly the impact that she has.  The truth is I'm pretty selfish and I would never have thought to give a friend money for groceries.  (She also gave us a jumbo size box of diapers and brought us dinner).

So thank you Carolyn!  You have completely made my day. I hope I can be like you when I grow up :)

Happy Due Date!

No, I'm not pregnant again.  But I was supposed to still be (Thank goodness I'm not). And also, this is the only red shirt that I own and it was Valentine's Day.

Thank you Aaron for always being a wonderfully sweet husband, every day not just today. I laughed so hard at this card.  Mostly because, if you know Aaron, you know that he can rattle off random facts such as this one all day long if you let him.  And when I was done reading this card he said "I actually already knew about this flower".
Thank you boys for the last 6 weeks that I wasn't even supposed to have with you! Which one's which?
Thanks Kathy for the cute monkey bottoms :)
My BEAUtiful "baby" girl, thank you for always saying you're sorry even if you could have gotten away with it without us knowing...
Thank you Sharon for the amazing cookie recipe. Don't tell Jade that Aaron and I just ate ALL of them while she was in the other room...
Thank you bedtime, you are my favorite time of the day.

Jade

Its hard to find time for each other and ourselves these days, but we're managing.  We hope we're giving Jade opportunities to do fun things even though her new brothers are taking up a LOT of our time.
Gymnastics class

Wearing her favorite character's dress (Rapunzel)
We went to a Valentine's party and Jade found all the boys to play with
Decorating heart shaped cakes

Story time
Putting herself down for a nap after a very long day

Make your own princess

Do these look familiar to anyone? No? So its just my daughter who rips toilet paper up into pieces, names them, and carries them around.  These tissues are named Tangled (aka Rapunzel), Flynn Rider, and other princess-movie characters.
Sometimes they even have their own castle.  Yesterday we asked her "Would you like a real Rapunzel doll or would you rather just play with your tissue dolls?" She said tissue dolls.  She has a wonderful imagination :)  I would say its a pretty cheap way to entertain your kids, but we go through several rolls of toilet paper a week this way.

But she sure is happy! And cute too.

Best-Day-EVER!

Ok so I may be exaggerating a little, but when all you're doing is feeding babies and changing poopy diapers, simple things can seem like MIRACLES.

I got my monthly copy of Parenting magazine a few days ago (which, by the way, I didn't subscribe to but some have been getting since Jade was born).  Inside was a code for $10 off anything baby-related at amazon.com.  So I thought I'd check out the price of diapers there and found out that if you join amazon's little mom-club you can get 30% off plus free shipping for anything having to do with babies as long as you have it shipped to you on a schedule.  So I signed up to get diapers once a month.

Here is what I paid for my first purchase:
$12.92 for Huggies Little Snugglers-168 count

Regular Price: $39.21

For a savings of $26.29!

That is seriously a miracle considering that we go through an average of 16 diapers a day.  And that is if one of them doesn't go WHILE I'm changing them, requiring a second changing in a matter of 60 seconds.  Thank you Amazon!  I will always be a faithful customer.
