Big Boys
New stats as of January 28 (3 weeks and 1 day old):
Everest--6 lbs 11.5 oz
Calder--5 lbs 12.5 oz
Over a pound and a half gain each!
So proud of my chubby little guys :) Well, they're still tiny, but they're working on it!

37 weeks
That is how far along I would have been today. It's surreal, I can't believe I have 2 healthy boys at home with me. I'm not gonna lie, I'm relieved I don't have to be pregnant for another 3 weeks, and that I haven't been pregnant for the last 2 weeks. That was tough! We sure love our little family...or maybe not so little anymore.

Things are looking up
Big things seem to be happening every day for my little boys. I can't help but think they'll be coming home this week, but don't quote me on that.
The docs gave me the go-ahead for one breastfeeding a day starting this past Friday. They also removed Calder's picc line yesterday and will be removing Everest's today, which means they just don't need the things they were using the IV for. They are now breathing, eating, pooping (a lot), and regulating body temperature ALL on their own. Way to go boys!
Jade got to meet her brothers for the first time a couple of days ago. You'll see how that went in the pictures that follow.
And in case you were wondering about where their names came from, check out my mom's blog. She's so clever...and also right on.
Onto the pictures...

She really does love them though. It will be more fun once we're home.

Good news update, and of course more pictures
They moved the boys into an isolette (incubator) together today! Yay. Yesterday they were able to put a picc line in for Everest, which they couldn't do before and already did on Calder. Also (warning:TMI alert), my milk came in finally today after 5 days so I was able to pump for them. They still can't breastfeed yet, but they can drink from bottles in controlled feedings. I don't know...whatever. Anyway, this morning I went to the hospital at 8am and changed their diapers and bottle fed them, and then I got to do Kangaroo Care which is really cool but the name is lame and kind of embarrassing to say outloud :) I got to lay in a recliner with both of them skin to skin for over 2 hours and sleep, until a social worker interrupted us and woke us up. You'd think she'd have something important to say but instead she said "Are you related to Dr. McKee?" and then told me about what a huge crush she has on him for about 30 minutes (she's 60 something). I should have said "Please leave, I only get to see my babies a few hours a day, and also I am half naked and you're making me uncomfortable". But I didn't. No news yet on when they get to come home, but they're doing well. We love them! LOTS of pictures ahead...
Everest-He has a nasal cannula in every picture, that should help you distinguish who is who. Calder doesn't have one, just an orange feeding tube.

Calder was sucking on Everest's hand when we came in. I got a video but not a picture. I'll try to post that too.
Everest left, Calder right. Confused yet?
