Compromise

Our TWO BOYS can be both athletic and artistic, right??
We're so excited! We found out on Monday. The top picture is "baby boy B", we couldn't get a profile picture of "baby boy A". But the bottom pic is there two heads together :) So cute.
By the way, I'm not going to Madison Women's Clinic, even though it says so on my ultrasound.  My doctor wanted me to get a second opinion with ultrasounds because he's a family practitioner and not an OB.  So that's where he sent me.  Well my "second opinion" went like this (after the ultrasound girl left):
Dr. Barton:{walks in and sits down, doesn't say a word, looks at my chart}
Me: {uncomfortably} I see you went to Northwestern. Thats really neat, I grew up in Michigan.
Dr. B:{Nothing, still looking at chart}
Me: {still uncomfortable...is he going to say anything?}
Dr. B: So you're a patient of Dr. Hopkin?
Me: Yes
Dr. B: You know that your pregnancy is considered high risk because you're having twins?
Me: Yes I do
Dr. B: {Back to chart....2 minutes later stands to leave} Ok, thank you.
Me: So are we done? We can leave?
Dr. B: {Already out the door and who knows where}

I love you Dr. Hopkin! (But I hope he doesn't see this, because that's awkward)

Progress?

Last weekend we took Jade to the store and let her pick out some prizes to go with this potty chart.

She was so excited, and has been sitting on her potty every since. I'm not kidding. She sits on it for an hour at a time and only really gets up to eat or to go to the bathroom.  Yes that's right.  Each and every time she stands up, that's when it happens. But at least she's sitting on it right?

Well here are more videos of her second gymnastics class.  She's still loving it as much as I am.  And also a cute video of her playing with micro-machines, mostly because she let me braid her hair for the first time and I needed to the moment.

Perspective

I had a really bad day at church today.  It doesn't really matter why, but I could barely keep from crying through the first 2 meetings and finally had to ask Aaron if we could just go home. I was sick of people asking me if I was ok.  Anyway, I just found this talk and was very touched by it so I wanted to share.  Its not very long and it has some great points. Or maybe it was just what I needed today.  In case you don't want to go read it, here's a good story from it.  There's always two ways to look at things...

When I was young I looked forward to the spring of the year. As the weather warmed, I was ready for baseball to begin. Like most young boys, I would wish that I could become a great baseball player. I am reminded of a story about a very young boy with similar dreams. With the desire to become the next mighty ballplayer, he decided to go outside and practice. He held the baseball in one hand and the bat in the other, and he threw the ball into the air. With a wish to hit the ball as far as he could, he took a great swing, but the ball fell to the ground without even touching the wood of the bat. Not to be denied, he went at it again. As he was about to throw the ball in the air, his determination grew as the thought of a powerful hit came into his mind. But alas, the results were the same. The ball lay on the ground. But as any good ballplayer knows, you have three strikes before you are out. He concentrated even more, threw the ball in the air, and gave the mightiest swing he had ever attempted. As the ball again fell to the ground, the tears began to swell in his eyes. Then all of a sudden a great smile appeared, and he said, “What a pitcher!”

The Littlest Gymnast

I took Jade to her first gymnastics class yesterday. The youngest age that they teach is 3, but I asked if i could bring Jade even though she's not 3 yet. When we got there we saw that most of the kids were 4 or almost 4. But Jade did so great! I smiled the whole time, and didn't put my camera down. I'm the kind of parent that really annoy teachers.

Beautiful Girl

I just had to post these pictures of Jade.  What a pretty little girl she is! We painted her fingernails (whats left of them after biting) for the first time a couple of days ago. She loves them.

Finding Hope

 I think most of us have at least remembered for a few minutes today where we were when we found out about the towers going down.  Its still heartbreaking even though its been such a long time, and even though most of us probably didn't know anyone personally effected by it.  But after re-watching this video (which I saw last year at this time) I was reminded that the reason its important to keep remembering this day is so that we remember whats important in life and feel grateful every day.

Little shopper

Jade grew out of all her shoes but one (her pink crocs) so we took a trip to payless.  This is what she did all on her own while I was trying to find one good pair of shoes that would work for all activities. The backpack, purse, umbrella, and shoes are all property of payless.  Way to be self-sufficient, Jade.

Been too long

I know many of you (mom and Daryn) are thinking "Its been way too long since Whitney posted something about Twilight".  So this one's for you guys.  Not to mention this series is uplifting and mellow in comparison with the book I just finished that I can't get off my mind (see below), and I needed something uplifting.

Give me a few days

Still not sure how I feel about this one. Anyone have any strong feelings about it?
