More Christmas

Not sure she liked her Dora cup as much as I thought she would

Thanks mom/Aaron for helping me start (and finish) my collection of Shannon Hale books!

Out with the old (almost)

We have had such a wonderful year! We have so much to be thankful for. For one, I am thankful for blogging so I can share all of our wonderful experiences with family and friends :) What did we do before blogging?? Here are some of our holiday festivities.

Jade finally got her OWN glasses. We'll see how long they last.

We miss Lohn and Sharon (we did our nativity with them for Jade's last 2 Christmas's) but Tyler's family was a wonderful replacement! It was really nice to spend Christmas with them here in Teton Valley.

Not to mention, I got to finally be the angel...my dream "role".

The other McKee family

The cold is so much more fun for kids

Just in case

...you're already trying to think of what to get people for next Christmas, haha.

And no, I'm not thinking you should get people a drawing of Jade. BUT my brother-in-law does draw and paint portraits and families for a living. He is amazing. If anyone is interested in having their child or family painted or drawn, let me know and I will give you more information.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas!

"Christmas Card"

I promise, I really do like sending/getting hard copies of Christmas cards. The truth is, I just didn't have a picture of the three of us that was recent that I wanted to use for a card! But if you're looking at this post, then you can bet that I WOULD have sent you a real Christmas card if I'd been more on top of things :) Maybe next year.

Anybody else...

Missing Glee?

I know I was undecided for a while, but now I can't wait until April! A little piece of my life will be missing until then.

Beach Dunes

Its not really the beach, but when I looked out our back porch the other day that's what I thought this looked like. I think its really pretty. Which reminds me that winter isn't ALL bad. But it also makes me really excited for summer!

Here's what we've been doing when the weather gets down into the negative #s

Perspective

Its amazing what a little ice on the road can do for your perspective on life...

Moral of the story: DON'T USE YOUR CELL PHONE WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING!!

Added later: The more I look at these pictures the more I think they don't look that scary. But let me tell you, I didn't just casually slide off the road. I went off the road, hit a big bump in the grass and was airborn before landing and sliding like 10 yards in the ditch. It was much more violent of a ride than the picture makes it look like! And then today as I was driving I kept looking at all the places I COULD have went off the road along that same road. I was lucky to go off where I did because along that road is the river, a lot of telephone poles and fences, and horses and cows, not to mention much steeper slopes into the ditch! I know nothing happened, but it made me realize just how much our Heavenly Father is looking out for us. It could have been so much worse!

On a happy note...isn't my little girl the cutest?

Uhhh...

Can any of you picture your 4 year old doing this?? Or even your 10 year olds? I mean, wow.

And by the way, I just laughed outloud comparing what this little kid is doing to the picture of Jade directly below it, on her belly saying "Look mama, I riding the whale", when in fact the "whale" is a dolphin.

Riding the Whale

A fun game that Jade made up the other day and showed me how it was done.

Her stuffed animal, who she named "whale" even though it is a dolphin, is underneath her so you can't see him.

TG with my family

Typical of trying to take a family picture {can any of you relate?}

"Hey lets all take a family picture!"

"Wait where are all the kids?"

"Ok we've got SOME of the kids. Grandma and Grandpa, come be in this"

10 minutes later....."Ok quick, take it before all the kids run away!"

I think it turned out pretty well considering we'd already been there for 3 hours :)
{And PS, if you wondering, Aaron volunteered to take the picture which is why he isn't in it}

And here are some more from our wonderful weekend
