Enthusiastic

OK, so maybe I post about my husband James Franco too much. But its my blog so I'll do what I want. And that is called Winning!
Anyhow as you know when I was out in So Cal recently I met up with my Pinky friend at the Indie Spirit Awards to try and get some celeb photo ops. This event was extra exciting because my husband was supposed to be there. No, I'm not a stalker. I prefer the word Celebrity Enthusiast. (Pinky I'm going to borrow that title from you because it's the best ever.)
Well I missed James going into the awards, but word was he didn't stop anyhow, because he was running late. (We are both late to everything. See, we're totally soul mates)
Fast forward an hour and who in front of my wondering eyes I mere 20 feet away should appear? The handsome and talented Mr. Franco. wearing a cardigan over his suit jacket. Just one of the many reasons why I love him. He had just won the Indie Spirit Award for best actor for 127 Hours. Do I have a pic of him holding said award. No. Oppsy.
Finally, after some begging and shouting he came over to appease his fans and that's when I got what may be my new fave celeb photo ever. (Okay second fave photo because me and Jen Aniston on the stage at Eccles still ranks number one)

How cute are we! The pic is so "Just hanging on the beach with my super hot BF while he rocks a suit and cardi and I'm rocking 4 layers including a coat." And because he is so classy and kind he even signed my copy of Palo Alto Stories.

This day was definitely WINNING!!

A Love Letter

“People cut themselves off from their ties of the old life when they come to Los Angeles. They are looking for a place where they can be free, where they can do things they couldn't do anywhere else.” -T. Bradley

My love affair has be renewed... with Los Angeles. I honestly think I forgot how much I love that place. People often scoff when I speak my love for LA, but I don't care. Someday LA and I will be together again and we will live happily ever after. So don't you try and stop us!
Now, my extended love letter to Los Angeles:

Hi LA,
I miss you already.
I miss your beaches. I miss the ocean.

I miss your amazing shopping. I miss your diversity.
I love you palm trees so tall and lovely. We have pine trees in Utah. I hate pine trees. They make me sneeze and get a headache and a rash.

I love you Hollywood. I love you random shops. I love the chance to put my hands where great actors of the past once did.

I warms my heart that you LA get to host the Oscars every year! Nobody deserves it more.
Disneyland I could give or take LA, but I do like posing for pics with people in giant furry costumes and you did give me that so, thanks.

Windy cold, slightly miserable Santa Monica beach. You absolutely hold a special place in my heart now, for more then one reason. A few of the reasons are:

Indie Spirit Awards with my amazing Pinky friend. (MISS YOU!!!)

Parking Lot twitter talks with my E! news Sundance boyfriend the perfectly lovely Ben Lyons. (yes I'm putting two pics of him one post after another, he deserves it he is just that cute. )
Seeing this guy. (PS I win at life. WIN)

Pedicures at the weirdest Asian nail salon ever with these two fabulous people.

I miss the Pinkberry. You are everywhere in Los Angeles and are my absolutely now favorite fro yo joint. Sorry Red Mango. Pink Berry kicks your ass. I miss Urth cafe too.

I love your Electric Vehicle Charging stations at the malls. I love you blue skies! I love that when I eat at the PF Changs in Newport, I can see the ocean while I eat.

Newport, you are a dirty beach, but I heart ya kid. I miss you sea birds.

I'm even growing accustomed to your ghetto trailer park Long Beach airport.
I miss you Los Angeles.

I'll be back soon!

XOXO

Forever Yours,

Heidi

Wind. A Portrait.

So I went to Santa Monica last weekend. And wow was it windy. VERY VERY WINDY. Windy like I didn't know ever existed. Wind straight off the ocean, cold, cold, wind. Constant wind. Not gusty. CONSTANT. So now I present to you Wind. A Portrait. In Series.

"First meeting after a month apart wind" or "Wind: The start of the demise of our hair"

"Wind with Palm" or "The continued demise of our hair due to wind"

"Wow, wind makes celebs look like supermodels and I just look ROUGH"
"Sorry the wind is making my hair attack your face Jason Ritter"

"2011 Indie award winner wind" or "Lets see if a pony tail helps the wind/hair situation"
"Haggered after a day in the wind."

"The adorable Ben Lyons still looks good in a wind storm, even when he claims he is tired" or "If I put my hand by my face maybe I can control my hair from blowing in the wind for one pic"
"Fave Sundance friend in Wind" or "Ben Lyons should date me, plus wind"

"Mother and Daughter, in a wind storm" or "My hair was done for at this point thanks to the wind"

To Infinty And Beyond!

There is a Buzz Lightyear Ride at Disneyland where you try and shoot things. Somewhere in the ride it takes a pic then sends it to you via email.

Here is my pic:

Some things to note about this picture:
-How in the zone am I?!? I am on a mission to shoot space robots or something.
-The awesome, high fashion, $6.50, Disney Parks poncho my mom and I are sporting.
-The fact that I, space ranger 2 killed my mom, space ranger 1, points wise.
-That I look more washed out in space then in earth.
*Please note, we aren't really in space.

California Bound!

Well Kids, tomorrow I'm of to Sunny California! (and by sunny I mean 60 degrees and rainy 3 out of the 4 days we are there. wah wah)
My mom and I are finally taking advantage of the trip to Disneyland she won awhile back, and will be spending the next 4 days in So Cal. Sadly we booked our flight back when the Oscars are on, so that's a major fail. But, we are flying Jet Blue so maybe I'll be able to catch some of it due to them having TVs. Win. And i get to see my fabulous Pinky!
In the next few days I'll also be seeing:

Beaches and the ocean! Yay!! I love my mountains but I'm very excited to see the ocean again!

Disneyland!
Hollywood! I loves me some Hollywood!

Palm Trees. My favorite tree.

And hopefully this handsome fellow. Wish me luck!

Swoon.

New Do!

Did ya' all see my girl Jen's new do? The more I look at it the more I love it!

Now I know what you are all thinking:
"But, Heidi you love Jennifer! You think she can do no wrong!" And while its true Jen is my number one home girl. There are some times I feel she went a bit awry:
Like the time she had these stupid bangs:

Or the time she was banging this idiot:

Or the time she made this movie:

But we can't all be perfect. Anywho, Love the new do Jen. Ya look swell. XOXO

All You Need Is Love

Its Valentine's day everybody! And that means it's time for some Love quotes! This year I decided to do a song edition. Here they come...

"It takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is" -Jason Mraz (Life is Wonderful)

"It seems like everywhere I go
The more I see, the less I know
But I know one thing
That I love you " -Michael Franti & Spearhead (Say Hey(I Love You))

"We have fallen down again tonight
In this world it’s hard to get it right
Try to make your heart feel like a glove
What it needs is love, love, love" -Ingrid Michaelson (Everybody)

"I've looked at love from both sides now,
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions i recall.
I really don't know love at all" Joni Mitchell (Both Sides Now)

"And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together"
-Train (If It's Love)

"Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more"
-The Beatles (In My Life)

"Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone.
I love you, and that's all I really know.
I talked to your dad -- go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say... yes."
-Taylor Swift (Love Story)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!! XOXO

Car. Book. Chocolate. Cat.

People keep telling me I need to blog (coughcourtneycough) but I can't think of anything exciting to write about! So hear are some things I'm up to right now. Boring or otherwise....

Driving my mom around.
On Tuesday it snowed a lot. Then a lady lost control of her car, my mom hit her and this is the result:

(This pic really doesn't do the damage justice) It goes all down the passenger side and her other headlight is busted too.
Mom will be okay, but my nerves may not be because my mom criticises my driving so much.
Cross your fingers the insurance company gets the rental car gets worked out soon.

Reading a new book
I recently picked up my husband James Franco's new book: Palo Alto Stories
I had heard good reviews and got a good coupon to get it cheap, so I picked it up.
It's a book of short stories about teenagers growing up in the suburbs. And when I say teenagers I mean dis functional teenagers that do things like drunk drive hit a woman with their car then leave her to die. This is not a book to read before bed time. But it is a good book.

Drinking Mexican hot chocolate with whip cream everyday.

I used to go to Nordstrom and have them make it for me, but at $4 a serving, that adds up but quick. Then I found they sell it in a bag for $10! Is this still expensive for hot chocolate? Yes. But considering I can make like 28 cups, its a much better deal. Unfortunately when I make it there is no cinnamon stick or rustic setting involved.

Taking care of a sick kitty.
Diego has taken ill. This has not been cheap and it a constant stress in my everyday life. I hate that we can't communicate! I'm so worried about my little guy! Send him your positive thoughts and well wishes please!

Thanks for your time all. Have a pleasant Thursday.

PS- I think the below picture proves James Franco is not gay. I don't know one gay man that would leave the house for a public event in tennis shoes that dirty. I know plenty of straight boys that would. Not soccer players. They are weird about having clean shoes. But other straight guys.

Good News!

Great news all! My fave groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, did not see his shadow today so that means its going to be a short winter!

SPRING IS COMING!!

I can't wait to kick this 12 degree weather to the curb and whip out my sandals and tank tops!

Doesn't the news this fab little groundhog brings just make your day a little bit better?
