Some sketch of a giraffe. Not by me however. My amazing sketch of a giraffe looked more liked a cross between a leopard and a dinosaur. Not for anyone's eyes to see.

Speaking of a cross, there's a genetics test tomorrow! But I'm worn out by studying, don't know if I'm going to study more for tomorrow's test, or just take a break. It's SPA next week after all. And I never liked practical exams.

This was a storyboard I did in Geog class in 10 minutes. The story is about migration. Okay, actually the story was supposed to be about Population and a personal experience, but after generous consideration of my extensive artistic abilities, this storyboard was a better result.

The storyline is rather ridiculous to a hilarious extent: There's this individual, let's call him John for the lack of a better name, and he wants to migrate out of Singapore! He considers joining an African tribe that dresses in a rather stylish manner and surprisingly speak English, but he decides against it. Then he heads to the Pacific where he meets some pirates who take an interest in him (in a nice, non violent way), however he decides not to be a pirate. Then he heads to the South Pole where he meets an Eskimo (who can also speak English... what a lucky guy) but eventually decides not to be an Eskimo. He then returns to Singapore and lives happily ever after. Huzzah.

So, apart from subtlely promoting National Education and Avester's artistic skills, what can we learn from this? Nothing much actually, but just appreciate the blurry art from my iPhone camera and enjoy the ridiculous-ness. :D

There's this devilish new puzzle game on the PS3. It's called Echochrome, and it's a puzzle game that bends all laws of Physics and Perception. If you cover the obnstacles, your character will act as if there are no obstacles. (Perspective Absence) Jumping and falling will be just moving upwards and downwards based on what platform is above you, which gives rise to a lot of possibilities since the field is 360 degrees titltable. (Perspective Jump/Fall) If two paths seem connected, they are, even though they are not. (Perspective Travelling) And the best one that bends every law of nature, if the platform is broken and you cover up the hole, it is no longer broken. (Perspective Presence)

All in all, it's a puzzle game that makes use of new rules and new laws. Sounds very KI-ish, with all the references to closed systems and perception. I got the demo but I am considering getting the full version, even though it's rather highly priced for a puzzle game at S$24. But then, this is unlike any other puzzle game I have laid my hands on.

Ugh i realised that blogging is so unpopular now with the dominance of facebook. But nevertheless, I shall strive to blog more often!

For all the photos of me, you can of course go to facebook. For continuous daily updates of what I am doing (not like it isn't studying) you can check out my twitter feed. So what does this leave blogging with?

A place to share other interesting bits of information! :)

When I have more time I shall upload sketches, make podcasts, show off some stuff and post some occasional updates of my life.

Updates! Yes, updates! We're working on the council notice board at the moment, tomorrow and friday we'll be going down to school to take our nice individual mugshots for the board.

Speaking of school, ugh, it pains me to even go school now. I have to study! Do you know how much stuff there is to study! Everyday I'm grinding Geog and Bio, it's fun to learn but not fun to study. I havent even looked at KI for the holidays yet. Mid Year exams are in 12 days. TWELVE DAYS!

Another important issue coming round the corner and is generally affecting a wider majority of individuals compared to Mid Year Exams is the advent of Star Sports switching from Starhub to Singtel. No more watching F1 and other random sports for the rest of... (3 years?) or whenever they release their stupid combined set top box. This is so unamazing. Now there will really be less stuff to look forward to on Sundays.

Recently I have become very addicted to tower defense games. Don't know why.

KABOOM! Okay need to go back to grinding.

Yesterday at CUBE I told everyone how I cut my hand with a penknife in Sec1 and I never wielded a penknife again. And Mr Josef Tan said I was easily emotionally traumatised.

Anyway for CUBE I didnt touch the penknife and made myself useful with everything else.

CUBE was fun. Really really fun. 3 Days of Presentations and model making. I remembered all the animated, awesome, heart-stopping, exciting presentations I did. I think I really raised my confidence and did my best when it comes to delivering a presentation.

Oh well hope we win. Results released at some convention in August.

I should actually blog more often. Then people can see the emo side of me.

Apparently everyone has been calling me a mugger. PEOPLE! There is a substantial and noticeable difference between mugger and efficient studier. And yeah, I study last minute like everyone, hoping that I can do well. And I doodle on my notes and don't pay much attention in lectures. How's that muggerish?

Oh and Mr Chan likes the Investiture Theme. Score 1 for Geography! Studying hard pays off. :D

这几天来，我发觉我在学校无精打采的，无法在班上集中精神。最近脾气很暴躁，不知道为什么，可能是因为有那么多功课要完成，可能是自己对自己的要求太高，小测验也只能刚刚及格。生物和化学不是我最喜欢的科目吗？我不是不会，可能是太马虎，或太压力。尤其是今天，上课时人在，心不在，笔有动，脑不动，眼睛一直盯在时钟。每天晚上没睡好觉，在班上希望能立刻回家睡觉。可是我又太多事做，不能睡觉，不能睡觉！

明天是星期五。又是星期五。很坦白地说，我不喜欢星期五。尤其是明天。有太多事做了。如果一天可以有多几个小时就好了。

Going for SC Elects Camp tomorrow for 4 days! This means that when I return on Thursday night, I have to rush homework. Geog Test first day when school reopens. I don't know what to expect for Geog. Honestly. It's like walking in a minefield blindfolded. All I can do is study study study, and hope that I can get it right.

Today was a mildly relaxing day. Went to SADeaf to finish my Deaf Culture, Communication and Language course. Now I can sign some basic phrases in Sign Language, and I'm more comfortable signing alphabets quickly. Maybe at the end of the year I will go on to take the next level courses in sign language.

First F1 race of 2010! Alonso won in a Ferrari at Bahrain, quite a nice race with a lot of overtaking. I hate Singtel for cutting Star Sports come July 1. That means I have to miss the final 10 out of 19 races in F1 this year since my family is obviously not going to be getting Mio. Stupid Mio. So inconvenient and irritating.

Okay got to check my bag for Council Camp! Will be back this Thursday night and will continue being active online before forcing myself into the wonderful world of Geography for the last 3 days of the holiday.

I'm currently listening to almost every single Owl City track in existence! This guy is really awesome, for some reason the type of music I love seems to click perfectly with his songs. His lyrics are imaginative and beautiful, and his music is catchy yet calming, something you don't see often in pop music nowadays.

First day of JC life and the lecture-tutorial system. Quite stressful. I didn't enter LT2 in the morning expecting a 40-page stack of Geog readings. Read the readings already though, yeah I survived. Then we had a \n almost 2 hour long Math lecture in the new LT1. What's good - can charge handphones easily. What's bad - the seats are uncomfortable. And if the person next to you moves even the slightest bit, you can feel it on the seat. So irritating!

Anyway I made it through the day. Looking forward to tomorrow's 4 period mega break.

4th and final day of orientation! This orientation would certainly be my most memorable orientation - so many new friends, relearning all the mass dances, wild cheering and games. Today's wet games were disgusting and retarded - honestly. There is no point in this kind of wet games at all. I was reminded of Keith Loo's Free For All water fight at St John's island, at least everyone had a ton of fun for that game, but today's wet games were disgusting and just unfun.

Pyxis emerged 2nd! It always feels great to start off as a backmarker then working your way up the leaderboard. It feels awesome! BURN BABY BURN!

New class tomorrow. Hope I get a nice class, please have a nice CT and an even mix of boys and girls...

Camp was fun. I've learnt a lot of things about myself and I felt that I've grown. Like making a serious passionate speech in front of a large crowd, understanding my friends and appreciating nature as a whole. St John's island was fantastic. If given the chance I would like to camp longer! (:

At the moment I need to sleep, which was what I did when I got home after camp, but currently everyone else already knows their OG because their OGLs have called them. And as for me, I shall be stuck with V27 until some OGL calls me. STOP SLACKING LAH OGLS.

Well, I would be happy, but due to the disappearance of the pig in the original set I decided not to buy any of the Doraemon charms and now I'm missing everything. Today I found out, as part of MVP (Model vSparks Project - current working name of the project we're involved in), that some supermarkets return leftover food back to their distributors.

That seems like a horrible thing to do. They should just throw the expired food away, or donate those still edible to old folks homes. But instead they return them to their distributor.

How unbelievable. Like their distributor is going to do anything about it?

Oh and the frogs were cute! I can't believe they sell all sorts of live seafood in Sheng Siong. I can't imagine anyone eating those frogs lar!

I've recently decided to love animals. Most likely my vSparks will be around animals. But I won't help out in SPCA. SPCA is a heartless place. The thought process works out to be rather simple: if I put the animal to sleep, I am evil. If I let the animal live to suffer, I am evil. So I might as well not go there at all, since whatever I'm doing there is evil. I know SPCA is an extremely committed organisation and its wonderful that the people there are so dedicated and all (I've got animal-loving friends who know SPCA people) but I won't help out in SPCA coz' for me its personally too heart wrenching. Maybe I will do something with the Zoo. Anyway it's still early for all these maybes. Will think about vSparks later.

What a horrible day.

C6 for Chinese. Screw it man. After all that I've done, I get a C6. Like, what the hell did I do to deserve that? Anyway, I got over that already, I guess maybe it's just another lesson learnt, should stay positive and keep moving on and trying harder.

Speaking of trying, today marked the first day of school reopening. I tried to be interested. Yeah, after getting my marks back there was no interest left in me, just red eyes and red cheeks. Anyway, I decided to be more interested in all the activities, especially since tomorrow is the leadership camp. The trainers are quite nice and understanding though, not what I'd expected. (You wouldn't expect much too if you'd met Wil Beng.)

However, I still maintain my view on leadership. Being a leader is not something that can be cultivated from a series of camps or workshops, being a leader is something you want to give to the people around you. I want to be a leader who is a great friend, reliable and always there for the people around me. I want the people around me to have fun. And that's really important for group spirit, I know I can do it. (:

Tomorrow may be the release date for my O Levels Higher Chinese results, but today seems quite interesting itself already.

My house is celebrating Animal Appreciation Day. First, my neighbour's big dog decided to take advantage of the fact that my main door was open and conveniently walked into my living room. Then, I found a bunch of ants all over my chocolate box. And now, there's this rather large cockroach stuck in the depths of my rice cooker, and it refuses to get out.

Let's hope tomorrow will be more positive. Think positive Avester!

Ever since I've changed my blogskin, I've stopped making podcasts. Recently, someone rekindled that spark inside me, making me once again feel the joy of mixing up random stuff. Podcast 36 is actually part of my SIP Project done with Song Kai, the Censorship Song, together with some bloopers. Podcast 37 is a rap with some vocals by Francis, the lyrics were taken from a poem I wrote 2 years ago in my blog. The lyrics may be a bit wacky and the beat is off, but hey, that's random enough to be inside one of my podcasts! (The beats for both songs are original, so are the lyrics.)

I'm being constantly reminded that it is the last week of the year with a fresh new set of calendars in almost every spot in my house my current calendars are. They have the fresh new paper smell and are taking up space on the tables and walls for the time being and generally becoming very irritating, both in terms of physically taking up space and mentally making me agitated that it's the last week of the year.

IT'S THE LAST WEEK OF THE YEAR! (Ouch I said it again.)

Of course, being the last week, my schedule is really packed. In fact, it's so packed, the only other time I felt so rushed during this holidays was breakfast in Hong Kong. I've got Class Chalet this week! 28th to 30th December, that means I get to see all of you guys again (people don't get tired of seeing each other) since Teacher's Day. I can't wait for the Barbeque (yes I planned it and it's going to be awesome, unless of course it rains, or we run of marshmallows to throw at each other.)

I'm going to be ridiculously free on the week of 4th Jan though. After New Year starts I don't know what I'm going to do in Januray. I've already signed up for a Sign Language course with Xiu Qi, I've got a list of movies to catch, and of course I've got to save some time for hoping that there will be a short overseas trip for us at the start of next year to ensure that we don't stay in school and rot like our seniors did.

It's raining again. Don't know why the weather in Singapore is so erratic. Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrated it, Happy Holidays to people who didn't, and I'll post some pictures of the party that's going on in my house now soon.
