In May I returned to the Dominican Republic (where I served my mission) and spent 10 days visiting my dear friend Luisa and her two children Kimberly and Albert. It was a great trip and we got in a lot of beach time. And the beaches and water were gorgeous!
HOUSTON
As you may know, I made several trips this year to Houston to visit Barry. We've checked out the oil rig-turned-museum in Galveston (really cool, a must if you find yourself in Houston http://www.oceanstaroec.com/) , visited NASA, went to a rennaissance fair, had lunch at the acquarium, and still have a list of fun things to do that includes THE rodeo next year!

CATALINA ISLAND
Barry and I took a day trip to check out Santa Catalina Island. The highlight of the trip was the underwater boat excursion (you can see all the fish swimming around almost as well as you could snorkeling). Catalina is nice to visit once, but we decided once is really enough.
SAN DIEGO
Thanksgiving in San Diego was a lot of fun this year with Mom and Dad there and Barry too. We had fun making gingerbread houses - Mom and Cameron made the "model" home, while Barry, Connor, Collin and I made the more intuitive version. Connor was very creative in placing candies all over the house, and Collin made sure everything was up to spec by removing the candy, testing (sucking) each one, then carefully placing them back on the gingerbread house and clapping his hands with pride. The next day Kory and Victoria showed us around lovely San Diego, and of course we ended up at the beach!

PASADENA
Barry is an alumnus of UCLA and has season football tickets, so we went to several games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena including the UCLA v. BYU game. I hear they are playing each other again soon in Las Vegas.
