Visitors

Last Wednesday I got a call from my sister: "Is it okey if we sleep over tomorrow?" They were on their way to a wedding and stayed a night in Bergen. I have a pretty small room, but they all slept in there for a night: Noah, Dothea and Roald. I was pleased to see my nephew again... Isn't he just adorable!?!

By the way, we got a futon, so now we can have more people on sleep-overs...

A little hike

Busy, busy...

I know it's a long time since I have updated, and Im sorry. At first when I moved to Bergen, I didn't have access to the internet for 1,5 weeks (at my apartment). I didn't really know how depended I was before that. But all the information about my school is online.

But now Im able to go online at home, and that makes everything a lot easier. I leave in a very neat apartment with a friend Lene. I got to know her when we went to Kenya together. We live very close to everything in Bergen. So Im able to walk to school and everywhere else. It's perfect!

We have started some different classes at school. So far we have cell biology, latin, medical ethics, and ex phil (philosofy)... On Tuesday we had a chance to watch the 2year students, while they were studying a real human body. People have donated their bodies after they died, and we get to work and study real human bodies. It was a weird experience just to watch the second-graders. When we start with anatomy in May we will do the same thing.

There has been so many things happening these first weeks. A lot of new things to get used to. This is a much harder study than last year, and we have a lot of different classes. So I try to study a lot so I don't get behind from the start.

We are about 160 people in my class, so it's a lot of new people. But I have already met a lot of very nice people, and made some good friends. :-)

Today we started a special CPR session. It's a class offered to medical students which is not a part of our school classes. As medical students, people almost expect you to be a doctor. To be honest, we haven't really learned that much yet! The first classes have been about cells, proteins, and cell membranes and how they are transporting different molecules. Not so much about savings someone's life.

IT's already late, but I wanted to give a little update on my life as a medical student :-)

back to Bergen

Im moving back to Bergen tomorrow... I wanted to post some pictures from my last couple of days, but my memory-card-reader is packed in some of my bags. And I have packed everything in the car... But I can tell you what I have done this week. Ive been spending lots of time with my niece(and Ragnhild). She loves to go see all the animals on my parents farm. If you ask her what the sheep say, she will answer Baaaahhh....! and mooo.....! if its a cow. So she is a little farm girl.

Ragnhild was making RIPSSAFT one day. You pick berries (rips a kind of berries), use a special pan and boil them, and then the juice will come out. At the end you add sugar, and you'll have a concentrated juice that you can freeze and use whenever you want to. It's very good. Well. Ragnhild was tired of picking berries, and therefore I made some also. So I ended up with about 5 L of RIPSSAFT...

Another day my mom and I went into the mountains and picked blueberries. There are a lot of wild blueberries this year, so we picked about 4 L each and froze them. So then I'll have "fresh" blueberries in the freezer, and have the possibility to make lots of things with bluberries, like jam, muffins, blueberrie pie...MMMmmmm!

I also had a special trip with my dad. We went fishing and caught lots of fish. So now I have fish, blueberries and the special juice that I will bring with me to Bergen... Isn't it great with all the things you can get from the nature! I love that!

So now, my summer break is over. Im moving back to Bergen, and will start medical school this week. Im exited to move into my new apartment, and also exited to meet lots of new people, and start school!

Oh, I forgot to mention one thing! hehe... Today I cutting the fishguts out of the fish we got, and guess what happend! I cut myself in one of my fingers. It was pretty deep, but I put band-aid. Hopefully it will heal quick and not make a big scar. We almost had to go to the doctor to get stiches! UFF DA! How silly... It didn't hurt at all, but it was bleeding a lot, so I knew it was pretty bad, To tell the truth,,,, the worst thing is that I can't knit for a while! What am I gonna these days?!?

I hope everybody is having a great weekend! I have to go to bed now...

Snakkes!
