HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY ABBY!!
Our sweet Abigail Rae turned 1 yesterday. It is hard to believe a whole year has passes since we walked into the hospital for my c-section. Nathan and I were talking last night in the quiet after the kids were asleep. Seems like much longer ago that we were in the operating room waiting for her to come out. She is an added light to our lives. She brings us so much joy.
She is toddling all over the place these days. More steps every single day. She is babbling up a storm and says, "Uh-Oh" (Uh-Uh), "Mama," "Dada," and "Hi." She and her brother have such a sweet relationship. Logan dotes on her and she the same to him. No one can make her light up like Logan. It is amazing. Logan mimics us so often when he talks to her, "Come here baby girl, walk to Logan. That's a girl!" She will toddle over to him and throw herself in his arms and they will roll around "wrestling" on the floor. She laughs the whole time and he will do just about anything silly to make her laugh and smile. I love watching their sibling bond grow. I pray it is the same way 10 years from now! (But I do have video evidence of their love for each other that I plan on showing them when they are at each other's throats.) :-)
You are feisty... stubborn... and you let us know when you are not pleased. When you are done eating you throw everything on the floor in 2.3 seconds (having a carpeted dining room SUCKS! and will hopefully be changing soon!) You still liked to be rocked to sleep and still like to wake up a bit during the night.
You favorite foods are pancakes, muffins, sausage, hotdogs, juice, the baby food in the pouches with the little straws, string cheese, yogurt and applesauce.
Wednesday morning Grandma and I took Abby out to breakfast. She seemed to enjoy herself (and her pancakes, jello, milk, and sausage.) Not to mention shouting and waving at people at nearby tables.
Last night after dinner we celebrated with a little cake. Nathan wanted a little practice run for her party on Saturday. Given the cake on the floor and china cabinet, Sister did not disappoint!!
She of course went straight to bath from there. She had cake in her hair and all that. (The tub was flat out nasty when we were done.)
Look at that happy messy face!
Happy Birthday Abby-Cakers! You are a blessing... such an amazing blessing. I can't wait to see you grow and continue becoming your own little person.
Love you,
Momma
