Kamber in London & Tenerife

Guest season has officially opened with a bang!  Kamber, AKA Kamee and Amber, brought a bit of sunshiny love from the great state of California on their two-week visit with us across the pond.  It was great catching up with a dear friend and getting to know my new one.  Lots of laughs, some tears, some laughing tears, a bit of shopping and way too much eating pretty much sums it up!  The highlight was easily our way-too-relaxed long weekend in the Canary Islands.  You'll note the utter lack of photos, which signifies that A. I'm too busy/exhausted for photography and B. I am learning how to power down!

London Newbies

How likely is it that some of your favourite friends would end up getting assigned to an assignment abroad that would have them living in the same town, with kids going to the same school, who would be attending the same church?  Lucky us, some friends from our pre-parental days did just that!  They arrived about a month ago, and we are thrilled to have them here!  Never having been to London before we spent a day showing them the sights of the best city in the world, and their new home!  

Trevon is Seven

Well this is a couple months late, but at least I got it up before his next birthday!  Our baby turned 7 in January.  This birthday was a bit sad for me, I must admit.  7 has always felt like the age when kids seem a lot less like their little selves and are turning more into their big selves.  Hard for me to accept.  But we love this kid at every age.  He continues to delight our family with lots of joyous interludes.  We celebrated his birthday on the day with ice-skating as a family, and a couple of weeks later Trevon had a laser tag slash bowling party with friends.  It was a blast!
